My neighbor got a dog, walks it every day, sometimes 2x a day, does a bunch of activities with it (catch frisbee, etc). She lost 50 lbs in a year.

For one day it's no problem. Over the long term, iof you consistently eat 500-600 valories under the recommended amount, it can slow your metabolism, and also you may end up losing more muscle mass than if you had eaten the proper amount of calories. It can also cause dizziness, fogginess, fainting spells, anemia, and…

Good luck! There are lots of health and financial benefits to reducing or eliminating fast food. I DO still eat fast food, not as often as I used to. But I knew that it wasn't realistic that I would NEVER eat fast food again (I'm on the road alot) So, my go-tos: Taco Bell: bean burrito fresco style 2 chicken soft taco…

Hi, I'm a young mom of three and work full time and my weight started was 237 lbs. I've been doing this 8 weeks, so not long, but I'm down 20 lbs already. So...that was a long way of saying "I get it"... Plug your stats into mfp and hit the daily calorie goal. That's it. Don't make this harder on yourself than it needs to…

For me, I got a haircut, and a good color job at the salon. Before, it was "I'll wait til I'm skinny to look good" but then, I thought "no, I deserve good things. Fat me deserves all the good things that skinny me deserves" and so, I started to treat myself better, similar to your story, I started living my life the way I…

Roasting or steaming a veggie side is pretty easy. At my grocery store they sell precut roasting veggies even! Asparagus is easy amd there is little prep. And romaine tossed with a mixture of oil+lemon juice + salt and pepper takes only a couple minutes and is highly underrated

To be honest, biking in fog terrifies me, especially near cars. I cant say what you should do except invest in reflective tape for your clothes and bike lights. I have blinking lights on both tires. It helps alot.

So, you take lime jello. You with me so far? Then you shred carrots and add it to the lime jello. THEN You spread mayonnaise on top of it. Because that's a thing people say "You know what this jello needs? Mayonnaise" My mother in law makes this on the regular. There is also "glorified rice" So...you start with whipped…

I buy these once a year, thinking it will taste like childhood and instead it tastes like sadness.

fresh figs + bleu cheese, or good shaved parm is truly one of the most delightful combinations. Don't deny yourself yummy things!

Also, if you put quick oats in the blender you can make it into oat flour

You can do banana flour - 100kcal per cup I think https://www.prevention.com/eatclean/gluten-free-banana-flour You can buy it or make your own. Also, it depends on what you are making, but, for example, instead of eating pancakes on the weekend, I eat crepes now - more egg, less flour than pancakes, and can be topped or…

I don't use the bike anymore, but both my husband and I used an indoor bike for years and liked it very much. This is the kind we bought. You might use it. You might not. But it's fairly priced and you can sell it if you don't use it.…

What do they have at the food shelf? And actually any canned fish is really good protein, like sardines and anchovies. My husband LOVES them (in water or mustard) there's a thread actually where people are singing the praises of canned fish. It's great nutrition for the $$, and, apparently, people LOVE the stuff. My…

Dry beans are a nutrient powerhouse and so cheap. Eggs for your protein - again, they are cheap $$$wise, and great protein. Check out this cookbook! Thank you for posting this. This is exactly how I am, and I thought I was nuts or something because people said working out makes you hungry and my 5:45 am jazzercise makes me very not hungry, and my 7:45 pm weight lifting makes me want to eat everything the next day. I never realized that different types of working out…

OKay...I am NOT a fan of countertop things but I eat alot of hard boiled eggs so...I got one of those countertop egg boiler things and it is the best thing ever, and every single egg I have peeled from there peels perfectly. Every time. It cost like $20.

I did ww and jumped ship to mfp. 1. I think calorie counting is easier than WW. Many moons ago, before the interwebz, calorie counting was much more of a slog, so reducing foods to a points value was easier. I think calorie counting is now easier. I can look up the calories for almost anything quickly, but to convert to WW…

70 cals per egg - and also my husband bought a countertop egg boiler, and I thought it was the dumbest thing in the world (um?
