Here's a 16:8 study for those who are curious: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5064803/ This one was done on strength training men. I feel like more studies need to be done to determine which groups of people IF works for and what exactly it can do in terms of benefits and drawbacks. I'll definitely be glad…

With all due respect to you, OP. I really think you need to speak to a doctor. The way you are describing your body sounds very disordered and your diary shows that you are eating way less than you should. The fact that you are dismissing reasonable advice to see a doctor/share a pic to rule out dysmorphia leads me to…

Fitbit includes your estimated Resting Metabolic Rate into your daily total. If you set it up correctly and pair it with myfitness pal, the number of exercise calories if gives you on myfitnesspal are what you would consider as burned in addition to your RMR.

My stretch marks would get ornery when I lost fat in the area with stretch marks, but that doesn't sound like what you are experiencing. If cutting back exercise/trying to slow rate of loss doesn't improve things I would advise seeing a doctor.

Incubus - Favorite Things !!! - The Hammer The Weeknd - Rockin' Britney Spears - Work B**ch Seriously, if you want to push yourself, try Favorite Things by Incubus. That song always gets me busting it during cardio.

The way I do it, which may or may not work for others: I'm set to -2 lbs a week loss but use a TDEE calculator to estimate where my maintenance calories are. Many days ~1200 calories feels decent but if any particular day they don't, I know my hard limit where I need to stop or I will kill all deficit. I don't consider…

Resting metabolic rate decreases with weightloss. Calorie cycling cannot prevent that. Assuming that the weekend protocol is 1000 calorie deficit in during the week and a 1000 calorie surplus in the weekend as described, you would expect your weekly weightloss to be less than .5 lb. However, depending on one's stats the…

From what I read it really isn't even that much harder for women with PCOS to lose weight, but we tend to have "male fat patterning" which means it is harder to lose from the stomach. We actually have an advantage over non-PCOS women when it comes to muscle growth due to the higher levels of androgen hormones, so take…

Food is clean if it is prepared in sanitary conditions. Weight loss is 99% a matter of CICO. What people call clean eating is (usually) really orthorexia disguised as a healthy diet.

Be prepared to have trauma come up during this process. People always say that exercise and diet will improve depression and anxiety--and it does, but I do find that some traumas I never processed are periodically rearing their heads and forcing me to deal with them now, rather than being forced down with food. Take the…

I took Yasmine a while back until I realized it had killed my sex drive. As long as you stay in a caloric deficit you should lose weight regardless of what BC you use, but depending on what it does to your appetite that can become difficult.

I can enjoy some nicely prepared chicken, but if I had to eat chicken for every meal that isn't protein powder...I'd rather be fat. Thank god you don't actually have to eat like this to lose weight! Dr Mike himself said that you don't have to cut out "junk food" entirely, you just have to eat a little bit less of it.…

Aren't you finding it difficult to meet your protein target without going over on fat? I imagine you are having to consume a lot of protein powder to accomplish these macro goals. But seriously, you need to eat a proper amount of dietary fat to maintain healthy brain function. You don't want to skimp out on maintaining the…

I only eat two meals a day and don't snack, and I try to keep my first meal to around 300-350 calories as much as possible. I can really have fun with the remaining calories that way, including ribeye with a green veggie side once a week, two slices of pizza if the craving hits, and a variety of other meals that aren't…

I have also read that IF can affect fertility but cannot back that up with anything anecdotal. I do 16:8 (some days more like 12:12) and haven't missed a period. What I read did say that OMAD (one meal every 24 hrs) and other, longer fasts can affect your hormones, though. It isn't recommended to do IF if you are pregnant…

"Two slices of pizza are the same as eating two spoonfuls of warm oil." WHAT?!?!?!?

I don't have an answer for you, but I am posting so that your thread doesn't fall off the front page. Hope someone has a good answer for you and good luck!

As long as you wash your hands before preparing and eating your food and you don't drop it on the ground or something, it is clean. Hopefully you have been eating clean your whole life! ;)

A lot of the people I see on MFP forums complaining of intense cravings and binging cut out whole types of food like you say you are trying to do. I eat a lot of what I used to ate, just in smaller portions. Lost 20 lbs since late October. Don't have problems with cravings or binging.

Are you allowing yourself rest days? Sounds like you aren't allowing water retention and cortisol levels to stabilize, because overeating can't cause you to gain 10 lbs overnight. In a month, sure, but not overnight. Running a half-marathon is a great goal! Perhaps you should at least temporarily shift your goal from…

Have you tried making cold brew? Don't bother with bottled cold brew or cold brew from places like Starbucks, those don't taste as good as cold brew you made yourself. My favorite coffee for cold brew is Arabian Mocha Java from Peets. You will find that the cold brew will have a lot of the rich flavor of the coffee but…

Exactly.

Homologous does not mean the same in every way. Organs can be homologous but still have differences of certain kinds. Fact is, the male and female sex organs do in fact have differences, from role in reproduction to the obvious difference in appearance. Doesn't mean anyone is arguing that they aren't homologous. One of the…

My mom expressed concerns about my weight when I was 12 and a size 5, and again when I was 15 and a size 8, and all throughout my time spent living with her. I think I was a size 14 or 16 when I left the house. She would buy me clothes a size too small on purpose for Christmas/birthdays and tell me to lose weight if I…

I have two boyfriends, one I live with and one long distance. They both know about each other and are fine with the situation at this time. In my eyes, lying about seeing other people is morally reprehensible. My boyfriend and I were previously in a triad with someone who lied about not having other partners and ended up…

Here's an article: Effects of eight weeks of time-restricted feeding (16/8) on basal metabolism, maximal strength, body composition, inflammation, and cardiovascular risk factors in resistance-trained males. They took male athletes who do resistance training, had them match calorie for calorie, the difference being that…

If memory serves, Yaz is a testosterone-reducing combo pill, so depending on your hormones that could be a good or a bad thing for weight. I was on progesterone only pills until this last cycle and had lost 14 lbs while on them. I remember watching a Lyle McDonald podcast where he said that most modern BC doesn't impact…

I'm 5' 6" 245 pounds, and a couple weeks ago I only ate around 1000 calories because I forgot to eat my 250 calorie after dinner snack. (It was logged and everything!) I felt fine...until the day after I got a really bad headache during my usual 16 hour fast, and my sensible lunch that is fine for me every other day was…

Good to know I was wrong about the twenty minutes! Should add that my particular goal is fat loss, not bulking.

Thank you for the input, everyone. I will try to talk to a doctor soon, but in the mean time I will take things very slow and carefully, and avoid any exercises I can't do proper form with.
