Any tips for building endurance for biking? I've been doing ~10 miles two mornings each week and a longer ride on the weekends somewhere between 20-25.....going on 6 weeks now and my quads get burned up every ride. Also, should mention that 3 days/week I do full body strength training (including quads). I feel like my legs…

Thanks! Yes he is, which is great! He even suggested intermittent fasting but I haven't done that yet.

yes, keep up the good work! use your BG readings as motivation. that is what I do. i was diagnosed T2D about a month ago. (pre-diabetic last year and got things under control with keto then slipped for 8 months). As you stated before this is a must for your long term health so it's worth putting in the effort and trying to…

Agree with above, I dropped 10 lbs the first week (water weight) and have averaged about 2-3 lbs lost each week over the last 4 weeks. Also, while the scale doesn't move drastically anymore I have noticed that my clothes are getting much looser on me! Keep up the good work, you're doing awesome!

thanks all for the information! haven't been on MFP since mid last week so I've got some reading to do!

can anyone recommend which magnesium supplement to take? there are like 5 or 6 options it seems. I've read the "constipation" thread in the stickies and I'd say i'm not quite constipated on keto but i'm definitely not regular. i'm scared to try any of them for fear of an extreme laxative effect!

wow, mind blown here too! I have 3 jars of pickles in the fridge now. Can't wait to try this!

People fundamentally don't understand correlation vs causation. It really annoys me to see all of these "studies" published for general consumption for the public when the public doesn't understand that difference.

Same thing happens to me but probably not as painful as you describe. Does this happen with bananas too? I was tested a few years back and came back positive for allergy to bananas.....avocado is in the same family of allergies. This is all very unfortunate because I love both of them : (

Generally I'm below 50 net carbs with a goal to remain under 25. I cut out fruit and all breads, pasta, beans, desserts, etc with limited dairy. This all helps me limit my calorie intake which I've found is the key for me.

Thanks for the info Paul. I'm down 8 lbs already since Sunday so i'm headed in the right direction again! I'm going to hold off on IF for now but I may reach out in the future for some guidance.

Strangely I've had very vivid dreams this week since going back on Keto after a short break (falling off the wagon). I typically don't have vivid dreams and usually don't remember details. I never would have thought of Keto as being the cause but who knows.

I can't tell you how much of your beginning story mirrors me right now. I started around 300 lbs last year with my numbers high and considered pre-diabetic. I got my diet mostly under control, started a regular excercise program (cardio and strength training), and lost about 30 lbs. That lead to better lab numbers. I…

Thank you both, good advice!

Your story is very inspirational! Thanks for sharing and helping others. So I started about where you did. February 2017 at ~305 lbs. I'm down to 270 lbs 18 months later. Should be more but I fell off the wagon a few times! Nov 2017 I started working out at a personal training gym 2x per week. I've been doing it for about…

Ditto here...first explanation that I understand an explains what's happening with me!

wow, that is some serious dedication!

Seemingly self explanatory but does primal or carnivore mean you only eat meat.....and that's all? No carbs, no veggies, etc??
-
I'd suggest following a program as well or perhaps looking up a personal training gym. I've been going to a local small gym that only does personal training sessions. Workout is different every time and is full body. Typically we always hit quads, hamstrings, chest, abs, lower/upper back, biceps, triceps, and obliques.

I'm pretty new to all of this so I'm not positive I'm in Ketosis but I've lost about 10 lbs in just over 1 week so I think it's a pretty good bet (SW 285). I'm holding off on any monitoring and supplements for now but I'm ensuring I get enough sodium. I'm going to ride it out for a few weeks and see where this takes me! I…
