Wow. I just want to say thank you to everyone for the really nice responses and words of encouragement...I wasn't expecting that, but really needed it! I guess I'll just keep on keepin on... :)

I'd like to join... I tried but I don't think it went through. I'm 5'6 and currently weigh 215. I started at 228 in November. Although I'm working out regularly , I need to dial in my nutrition big time. Probably the reason why I haven't been dropping any pounds for a few weeks now. My goal is to be 199lbs by mid March at…

I tend to eat bread only once or twice a week, and try to avoid it most days. I understand perfectly well that you can still lose weight while eating bread, however I find that when I eat anything that once started out as a dough of some sort (bread, muffins, bagels, croissants), I just keep wanting more...and more... it…

Awesome Amanda! Sounds like a good day. I'll post later tonight but, regarding yesterday, Id say my nutrition was a 7 :(. I had take out breakfast for the first time in ages, but I tried to make it as healthy as possible...just egg, tomato and cheese on an English muffin and a coffe. The rest of the day was fine, a bit…

Yes! I just took pics of myself this morning and compared them to pics I took at the beginning of November (when I first started working out) and it's sooo motivating to see the changes! Even though they're small, I definitely see them!

Awesome! In February, I'd like to: - lose 8lbs - make sure I'm drinking at least 100 ounces of water per day - hit the gym at least 4 times a week (missing no more than 1 day between work out sessions) - start properly and accurately tracking my heavy lifting progress and take pics of myself

Not saying it's rude to have an opposing view, or to inform someone who is possibly misinformed. It's the way that many posters go about it... it's unnecessary to make someone feel like an idiot for asking a question. It's one of the purposes of these forums. The purpose isn't to be an outlet for jerks.
-
This is why I took a break from the forums for a while...condescending posters with their snarky comments. Why jump on someone for asking a question? Give a helpful answer (without the snark), or move along...

My goal is to lose weight while building strength. The main "supplement" I take is whey protein isolate.... protein is important and I don't get enough most days from my regular meals, as I don't eat a ton of meat. I blend the protein powder with unsweetened cashew milk and a frozen banana and drink up right after I get…

This is going to sound really weird...but sometimes I rub horse liniment on my sore muscles and it really works lol

I have a protein shake with frozen banana and spinach right after the gym...keeps me full for about an hour and then I have a salad with chicken or scrambled eggs and toast. The one food that really fills me up is natural Peanut Butter mixed into steel cut oats...hits all the right spots!

Just sent you a FR :) I'm 31 and 215lbs....also looking to lose around 50 or so. I've been on a roll with working out (heavy lifting and a bit of cardio) and eating fairly healthy most days since beginning of November, but I can feel my energy and motivation starting to want to slide...as usual for this time of year. :s…

I find that I need to eat a little something before I work out...I lift heavy and do a little cardio. I normally have steel cut oats with some natural PB mixed in, 20 mins or so before my work out. As soon as I get home from the gym, I mix up a protein shake with 1/2 frozen banana and cashew milk. I do this every. Single.…

Steel cut oats are super filling and healthy, and take only a few minutes to make. Add the oats to boiling water and cook 3-4 mins...then I add in a spoonful of natural PB, cinnamon, a bit of brown sugar and top with 1/2 cup of unsweetened cashew milk. But really you can add whatever you want...frozen wild blueberries and…

Bahaha... I wish it was that easy!

I take BCAA's, I drink a scoop in my water throughout my workout. I find that I'm less sore after my workouts as opposed to when I wasn't taking them. I also find them beneficial because I have a hard time getting adequate protein throughout the day... I don't eat a ton of meat. My protein mainly comes from fish, eggs,…

I'm back in the dating game after being single for almost a year. I've really just begun my new lifestyle... well, a few months ago. I also live in a small town, haven't been here long, and I see the same people at the gym day in day out. So... I'm online dating. My issue is that the men I'm interested in online, those who…
