Hmm thanks yes sleep is an issue probably getting around 6-7 hrs. I’m woken early by little people! Hmm I thinks it’s a case of discipline with spreading those coffees out . They are lovely first thing. Thanks for your guidance.

Hmm thanks for answering that’s what I suspected too but having had another coffee it appears to have worsened it ... I didn’t know if I was just having too much food and coffee/ likely but that’s what I like but if I knew for sure what causes the slump ten I would reduce/eliminate.

Thanks for sharing knit or miss and cherry. I think it would take iron will power on my part but when I’ve been forced to delay breakfast I have tended to have not binged but maybe other variables involved.
-
Thanks for that Nevadaden. Interesting insight. The frequent snacking thing is bliss but er, not helpful for me either...

Thank you for sharing. I think the thing is we are all so different and managing our different physiological and psychological responses is useful. I just found that I eat because I like eating, breakfast is at 6 am with coffee, then by ten I’m going for my second breakfast. Just thinking of one day where by the milk was…

Maybe we can start doing these before getting to the ideal weight?

Thanks for sharing. Fitnessmum grrat news. My gynaecologist is absolutely all for low carb but only in two weeks before period-the time I want carbs! My go thought that was a load of rubbish.... I think if I truest believed it would work. May I ask what your diet looks like? Thanks nv sounds like you are doing well too. My…

Thank you knit or mis. I am full of pmt (I think) and this am thought I would have peanut butter on toast an hour later I was raiding the tins for biscuits - albeit low sugar ones and each time thought I just want the pack! Today I failed..... Work in progress. How can I say the same thing to myself, just devour one and…

Thank you both for sharing.

I agree except I think when I’ve read articles saying no one can be addicted to food I doubt my own observations. It’s weird though, particularly before tons of month or when really stressed or tired, for me any carb will do. Even a not very attractive one such as porridge (!) I will want volume. I was shocked at how great…

Me too! I have binge eating issues but not all the time. I tracked for a year on a calendar and always 2 weeks before and a few days into my period, then carb cravings and psycho anger and tearful moments just go. The doctor suggested the pill might help and suggested low carb before period but no idea why he suggested the…

I’m learning it’s not About the food it’s my mood and situation, managing this better is helping my weight stabilise and hopefully will help to lower in the longterm

Thank you for posting lama it helps me to self reflect too.

I could actually tick off each one of those too. Thank you for articulating. I think my triggers are: 1. Stress, and depression. Food gives me a little lift sometimes a massive lift in mood instantly and like you guys have said, it provides a happy little different world. I don’t let anyone into that I. E it has to be done…

Oops I lost the rest of my post. I was focusing on being healthier had been prioritising work etc and today decided to purchase chocolate rolls for the kids for the weekend. 5:30 yep I ate them, I don’t even like them that much, but the craving was overwhelming and I’ve had them in the house all day and not even tempted.…

Hi Jessie, sorry to hear that (presuming it was unwanted weight gai ). May I ask which antidepressant you were on, I know some are certainly known for their weight increasing effects. Fluoxetine specifically is used in binge eating disorder too (which I’m also prone to) , but i really don’t want anything that turns my…

Thanks for sharing! Interesting.

Interesting. I had a whole day in with child today and it was raining so we stayed in, in A good mood apart from a horrid cold but no real stress and bizarrely, it took me unawares, I binged, peanut butter bread, sweetened yoghurts and bean cereal of all things. Damn just when I thought I had my head round triggers and…

Wow thank you for sharing. Loved your stress response tactics, especially the colouring in. For a split second I thought colouring, that’s so calm then you suggested swear words... now I’m with you! Thank you for the links, I haven’t read them yet as would like devote time to reading. You’re so right about preparing for…

This is great I’m on a roll now. I think a problem is when I go to bed at night I look forward to breakfast before work, if I took that away I know it’s awful but I dread the day. It’s like my comfort zone. I’m aware that not helpful thinking, that’s more to do with emptional eating than bingeing. My diet withou. I diet…

Lovely post, thank you. I know there are certain times, always “monthly” two weeks before the dreaded day. It’s been worse since hitting 40 and having young children. This hasn’t helped with sleep. I can’t help but feel I’ll always be stressed about work but have a very stressful job and finish each day at 5:30 pick up…

Thank you for replying ducky. Are you someone who looses your appetite easily? I love food so dampening my appetite wouldn’t do any harm, ramping it up would. More importantly did your mood improve? Any other the side effects?

Kazgorat may I ask what your diet consists of today? I do believe eating can be addictive I’m not excusing it, but my dad was the same as was my grandma. My mum has always been a “love food but I’m full now” as have my siblings and man the maternal side. It’s too much of a coincidence to not have a genetic component. As…

That’s really great thank you! What fun things do you do on your off days? Your feelings of boredom/ stress/ anxiety and associated bingeing all resonate with me too.
-
I am sorry to hear of your struggles. However you are tackling something you have struggled your whole life! That’s amazing and any success is success surely. I am exactly the same with one bite I want the lot. I am not excusing but think it’s just one of those things we will always have to manage . Just like I have a…

This is really interesting thank you. I don’t want to obsess about food more but I found the eat regularly and things you love approach to be a nightmare. What I’m slightly scared of is challenging my low moods without food. Thank you for sharing x

Thank you for your empathy. That’s how is feels just grabbing carbs and consuming like there is no tomorrow. It’s not a. It’s not a nice place to be but it sounds like you have done brilliantly at combating it! Where did you find your therapist? I once spoke to a therapist who made me think about food more she kept saying…

Really interesting thank you! I can overeat in any setting but my bingeing yo overcome emotion is almost always alone. Like you at work if I’m busy then o don’t but if I’m stressed and working hard I reach for sugar in any form and when I get home from work... well! In the U.K. weather is miserable and weekends when…

It’s not just sweets cakes and biscuit. Today before the pancake incident I was happily making myself a salmon wrap, I had one it was divine, the wanted another had one then moved to pancakes! So I can overeat on seeded salmon avocado wraps! 90 percent of the time carbs are involved. It’s definitely related to emotions-…

Wow what brilliant responses thank you for sharing. I want to sit down with pen and paper and take notes. I think carbs give me a bit of a rush when I’m down, today was pancakes../. 4, 1 wasn’t enough! It’s hard with children, cold weather and being around lovely food feeling a little miserable. Oddly I did notice a few…
