Got another 6.0 miles in this morning, taking advantage of this beautiful, sunny weather while it lasts. I was running into a strong head wind for most of my run and felt like I was basically running in place at times, but I ended up actually being two minutes faster than last week. Weird how that happens sometimes. My…

You're not the only one. Not only do my leggings slip down on the treadmill, but my t-shirts also slide off my right shoulder, which irritates the snot out of me. I end up having to tuck the left side of my collar under my bra strap so I don't feel like I'm being strangled. I don't have either of those problems when I run…

3.0 more treadmill miles today. This has been a crazy week, and I'm going to have to push my long run to Sunday, but I'm proud of myself for managing to get most of my miles done anyway. Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with this thread much, but things should settle down a bit in a couple of weeks. 33.5/55.0 miles for…

2.5 miles of treadmill intervals today. Definitely not going to make my goal this month. 30.5/55.0 miles for February so far.

Got 3.0 treadmill miles in this afternoon. I wish I'd had more time, because I was feeling pretty good, but week days are really tight for me. I bow to those of you who manage to devote more than 45 minutes to exercise on during the work week; even getting up at 4 am, 30-45 minutes is all I can squeeze in on a good day.…

Way to go! And I don't think you should worry about your pace at all. As a fellow "turtle", I'm a firm believer that distance is what really matters!

Guess who ran SIX WHOLE MILES this morning? That's right - this girl! Woo hoo!! In 1:08:17. Now I need to start looking for a reasonably local 10k. It wasn't "easy", exactly, but it wasn't torture, either. I decided to go run on campus this morning because my park of choice was crowded. Joke's on me, because apparently…

Team More & Less is less than 1/4 mile away from our 400 mile bib! Woo hoo! Congrats to everyone who's hung in here so far!

Got a very comfortable 3.5 treadmill miles in this morning. I think I've finally recovered from last weekend's race. Tomorrow will be a strength training day, and I'll be glad to give my legs a little break. I may have missed it in the recent posts, but is anyone racing this upcoming weekend? If so, good luck! 19.0/55.0…

Another 2.5 treadmill miles today. I did some intervals, though nowhere near my race pace from this past Saturday. It's nice to know I have that in me, but I'm not sure I'm confident enough to attempt to replicate it on a gym treadmill just yet. I have visions of being flung off the back. Lol. Probably not going to make my…

Back at it today with 2.5 easy miles on the treadmill. I wish I'd had more time, as I was feeling pretty darn good, but there's just too much going on this week. Tomorrow will be some kind of light speed work, probably intervals, depending on how I'm feeling when I get to the gym. 13.0/55.0 miles for February so far.

Sounds like most of us have had fantastic weekends. Way to go, everyone!

Race Report Time... Whew. Today did not start off well. It's been a horribly stressful week, and, as I mentioned in my last post, I haven't been sleeping well. The only run I got in all week was my crappy 1.5 miles of treadmill struggle on Thursday. When my alarm went off at 4:00 this morning, I very nearly turned it off…

Ugh. 1.5 really ugly treadmill miles today, but better than nothing. I finally realized what my problem is while I was reviewing my Fitbit stats this morning - I haven't gotten more than 5 hours of sleep in a night all week. It's just been one of those weeks. Hopefully I can get back on some kind of schedule ASAP. 7.0/55.0…

Didn't run today, either. Bah. I hate these long weeks that just suck all my energy out. Shouldn't have any trouble fitting a short one in tomorrow, though. I won't be hoping for great things in Saturday's 5k, but at least I don't have to worry that my legs will be tired!
-
Congratulations, @RisingAboveIt! I knew you could do it!

No runs for me yesterday (got too busy) or today (didn't have one scheduled due to a late meeting). I'm going to try to do an early morning treadmill run tomorrow before I leave for an out-of-town speaking engagement. I had planned to keep the miles low this week anyway, since I have a 5k on Saturday morning, so I'm not…

Definitely all about mental fortitude. Which is a serious struggle for me. But I'm hopeful that I can pull it out by the end of the month!
-
@PastorVincent, thank you! I'm hoping to hit the 6 mile mark by the end of the month. :D Ever the eternal optimist, I am.
-
Started off the month with a "long" run of 5.5 miles - my longest ever. The weather was quite mild (55+ and partly cloudy), but my legs were a bit tired for whatever reason today. The last mile or so was /a serious struggle. Still, I managed an average pace of 11:38 min/mi, which I was fairly happy with. And then I went…

Man! First day of the month and I was already 7 pages behind on posts. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend! I can't wait to read all the reports. My January goal was 45 miles, and I ended up surpassing that by 10 miles. However, with February being a shorter month, I don't want to get too ambitious this month. So,…

Yes! This is so true. I have an extremely short torso (have to have EVERY tank-style shirt and dress I buy shortened from the chest up...), and this tip is spot on. I love my Panache sport bras; I’ll probably never buy another brand/model again. I buy them slightly snug to begin with and then use the J-hook to shorten/lift…

I did 3.5 easy miles on the treadmill today to round out the month with 55 total miles, 10 miles above my goal! I also realized that, this month's running total is nearly 25% of my mileage for the entire YEAR in 2018! I can't believe how far I've come.
-
2.5 miles on the treadmill today. I was supposed to do 1/4 mile repeats but wasn't really feeling it, so I did a few 1 minute sprints instead. I was pretty pleased myself for managing to run on the treadmill at a 10 min/mi pace without tripping or being flung off the back. Lol. It's the little things in life, really...…

Hi! There was a thread about this not too long ago. I’ve forgotten the title now, but you might be able to find it with a search. I added a handful of friends from there. I’m also a horse person, though I don’t get to do much riding right now (my current horse is only about 9 months old). However, I work with horses daily…

Good luck this weekend, @RisingAboveIt! I'm still trying to work up the courage to try a 10k; I can't imagine doing a half marathon any time soon. I'm sure you'll get your medal!
-
Back in the gym for an easy run today. I only had about 30 minutes to spare, so I just did 2.5 miles instead of my planned 3.5. Better than not running at all, at least! 49.0/45.0 miles for January so far
-
Way to go, @amymoreorless! I'm so in awe of you guys who can run more in a single day than I can in a week, two weeks, or even a month in the case of our ultra runners.
-
Team More & Less finally achieved our 200 mile bib! We're in 4th place right now, but I know @amymoreorless has been tapering for her marathon and both @RisingAboveIt and I have missed some runs in the last week or two. Don't count us out just yet, right ladies? Good luck to Amy in her marathon tomorrow!!

Today was a good day all around. Despite the fact that I literally did not sleep AT ALL last night (for no reason at all - that happens to me occasionally), I weighed in this morning at under 140 pounds for the first time in a decade! Yahoo! The weather has also improved tremendously; it was 50 degrees and sunny when I…
