  • Take advantage of hotel amenities. A large number now have a fitness center (which can be as simple as a treadmill and bike or as elaborate as free weights, cardio machines, heated infinity pools, etc.). I spent 30-45 minutes in the fitness center every morning while on my honeymoon and loved the little bit of me time.…
  • Hello there. Nerd here (no glasses yet). Hubby got me just dance for Valentine's day since I enjoy my dance workouts and video games. Though I'll have to move my miniature table.
  • I use Zombies Run for my w/j/r sessions. To some degree it is free (The app is free, you get certain missions that are open for free users). It doesn't directly sync, so you either have to manually log your runs or push it through a second app (I believe it was run keeper), and them have rk sync to mfp. I use a Fitbit to…
  • With salt and lime juice. I also like to put it with halved grape tomatoes and make a little "salad" out of it.
  • Hullo! :D I'm a PC-gamer, tabletop-rpg rogue, and just general geek. :3
  • People at work frequently talk about how they're drinking acv. I just nod and smile. It's their bodies, their choice. If they ask for an opinion, I tell them that I only use it as a cleanse for my hair. If they ask how I'm losing weight, I keep it simple: I'm counting calories and eating in moderation.
  • As others have said, you can prep any meal. I generally plan to make 3 meals a week that total out to 16 servings (8 servings for lunches and dinners for hubby and myself). I'll premeasure the ingredients and either freeze the rest (in the case of meats) or use them for snacks (fruits or vegetables). I generally have all…
  • I've got one opening up on my route home from work, and according to their website, one opening up across from my local park (like 10 minutes from the house). I'm definitely checking it out when it comes in.
  • My best workouts have been the ones I enjoy and can stick to. That equals out to running, biking, and playing volleyball. I'm usually one of the shortest on the courts, but I'm also closer to the ground, so digs don't scare me.
  • Eyeliner will always be my enemy. I'm glad that the punk raccoon eyes were in-style when I started doing makeup (I rocked those smudgy rings for about 2 years in highschool). The only eyeliner I've been able to reasonably wing is a Kat Von D liner.
  • I've done one virtual race and intend to do the spring one from Zombies Run. I really enjoyed the Halloween one and since I'm not looking to be competitive, it's more casual and I can run where I want. I've looked at Yes Fit and plan to do some races once I'm more consistent with running.
  • I work with infants, so we see a lot of them transitioning from bottles to eating school lunches (cut to appropriate bites). Curiosity has had me try a few things (bland veggie straws for finger foods, fruit baby foods to test for tartness). Some are not bad, but there are definitely some I would never eat myself (one…
  • I don't have personal experience, but a coworker of mine did a modified version of the Daniel fast with her son and their church. They were allowed a minimal amount of chicken or fish (one meal per day). They ate a lot of fruits and vegetables, which was good for them as it pushed them to try more than green beans and…
  • I know Texas Running Company in Sugar Land hosts a number of group runs during the week. It might be a bit far, but they also may be able to direct you to ones closer to Katy (I work out by Katy, but live closer to Sugar Land). Or possibly see if a local running store has info on group runs. I haven't stated attending TRC…
  • My goal is 8k, but I really push for 10+k. My numbers have decreased some since I switched classrooms (infant room has less walking, but more lifting).
  • I've been using Fitbit for a few years with different models. My favorite has been the charge, but the band was splitting and it made it's escape when I was taking down company Christmas trees. I now have an Alta, and am not as impressed. I'm actually planning to convert over to Garmin this year, since I think it'll fit my…
  • A non-loss week for me, but overall I'm still down 7 pounds. 20-25 more to go.
  • My pocket. I got a light running jacket with tight fit pockets. One side holds my phone, the other side has my keys. Of course this means that people hear my music and ZR story clips (good thing I run outside when no one is around).
  • I'm a big fan of both the sweet vanilla cold brew and the light caramel frapp with double espresso shots. Those are usually my weekly treat drink of choice and they stay under 150 calories.
  • My rice cooker. We replaced my old one last year and we're still going strong. It gets used most weeks since we enjoy rice as a carb.
  • I prefer morning workouts, but unless I work 8 or later, it becomes impractical for me to get a session in and still get ready on time. Right now, I'm running in the mornings (2 miles with a goal of stretching to 3 when my pace gets better) and doing everything else in the evenings after work.
  • Also going to put my vote in for going to a running store. I went for the first time the year I moved to a real city (Houston) and the difference in how my body treats runs was a complete difference. I'm now less than 20 minutes from a store that primarily sells my brands (sarcony, Mizuno) and I love going and getting new…
  • Oatmeals or dairy tend to keep me full for the longest. I vary up my breakfasts, so this week is cottage cheese and fresh berries (yay for sales that fit my tastes). I've never stayed full long on eggs without adding some carbs in (usually fried egg and ham sandwiches).
  • Probably Aznur casserole (Nebraska is home to a roll stuffed with hamburger, onion, and cabbage called a Runza, so school was creative yo), and these peanut butter bars (I could legit eat my weight in them and the cafe lady loved me, so she'd always save me a slice in the kitchen that I would get at the end of the day,…
  • I'm definitely up 2 pounds in water retention thanks to eating some higher sodium foods. But it's already dropping off now that I'm back to my usual eating habits.
  • We went a couple weeks back when we had calories for pizza. We were super happy and plan to go again in the near future.
  • Yo. :) I have an open diary that includes the recipes I cook each week.
  • Love it. But it can get overwhelming if my work schedule doesn't keep with what I'm supposed to be working (I'm looking at you, 12 hour day and being shifted to closing). So I usually do 3 meals a wee that have 4-6 servings so I can pack leftovers for lunches or dinner another night. Thankfully, Hubby is pretty open to…
  • Hubby and I generally eat out Friday and Saturday nights, and just moderate what we eat or adjust elsewhere for the meal. This week, we went out for sushi (I had a chirashi bowl and ate most of the fish, probably half of the rice, and had a mixed drink) and Greek food (we had a combo plate that had 3 mini pita sandwiches).
  • I'll probably sign up in the next week or so. Sixtostart also built a virtual run time board, so there's a non-ZR race coming up that I believe is a free run. I did the space one that was offered last year. I think this one is ocean-related. Being in Houston last year's was definitely interesting and relevant.
