Planning a conservative 16-8 with a "normal" diet aiming at 1500 calories a day makes me an outlier. I am a fellow outlier! While I would like to lose weight, I am looking at this as a lifestyle change that needs to be sustainable over time. I am doing 16:8, although I do have two cups of black coffee with 1/2 package of…

I drink 2 cups of coffee with 1/2 package of sweetener each 12 hours into my fast and then eat a few hours later. Apparently, the sweetener breaks fast. BUT, this is sustainable for me. I am trying very hard to not become obsessive about this process. I am not looking at this as a diet. Instead, I am trying to make a…

Hi everyone. Sorry I am late posting. Unexpected trip out of town to help a friend who was in an accident and needed assistance until family could make arrangements to come. She is recovering well and I got back home last night. PW 166.2 CW 167.8 Steps 7/24 22,794 7/25 20,617 7/26 18339 7/27 5978 (travel day) 7/28 12072…

I'm back :) Took yesterday off. After a couple of days of poor sleep and busy times I found myself in trigger hell ... too tired and too hungry. Full out binge mode. Back on track today. Good nights sleep last night and ready to go today. At least just one day ... a blip on the road to healthier living.

@ells_bellz been there before. Getting started back on track always seems so hard. I think @jugar advice is right on target. Just focus on one or two key things ... you can add more later.

PW 166.2 CW 166.2 A bit disappointed that the scale did not move an ounce, but at least I am feeling much better, have more energy and my clothes are fitting better. That is all good news! @ashleycarole86 thanks! My minimum step goal is 10,000. That covers me for the days that I don't ride.
-
@ashleycarole86 ok! That is pretty simple because my FITBIT doesn't register any activity when we just walk, probably because the muscles involved are pretty much core muscles, not limbs. Will join this week ... need to post on the 24th I assume.

The heat is getting beyond tiresome! Seems like all I am doing is changing clothes every time I turn around. :Grateful that it is at least bearable early in the morning and later in the evening. @conleywoods Love your tea pictures! Looks like you had a really lovely time. @micki48 Yummy. Love scallops. Lots of worse things…

A day without any pain and mo pain meds ... what a gift!! Now, hoping the effects of this injection lasts for a good while. @ashleycarole86 re steps challenge. I track my steps via my Fitbit. Very helpful to make sure I hit my minimum exercise goal (10,000 steps). On the days I ride, the "steps" are a bit wonky. Fitbit…

Good morning all. Yesterday was busy with getting everything done before spending the afternoon getting hip injected. The injection was a piece of cake ... much less uncomfortable that when I had my knee injected several years ago. Only discomfort was the quick prick when they did the local anesthetic. So far so good ...…

CW -166.2 PW - 167.2 Steady does it! All going well in terms of food choices and exercise. Struggling a wee bit with sleep. Not awful, but need to see if I can work it out what is interfering.

@PlaneMonkey So good of you to stop and help the cat, even though the end was not what you would have wished. But you did assure that it did not lay there and suffer and for that you should feel very good. @micki48 Happy Anniversary!! I hope you are having a great weekend. @Terytha A pajama day sounds wonderful. Enjoy!!…

Nothing much to report. Things going well. Am managing to ride each day, but limiting it to 15 min. Not much, but feeds my soul. Eagerly waiting for injection on Monday' @Kali225 Congrats on getting the apartment. Love that things are really coming together for you. @PlaneMonkey Yep, breakfast is key for me too. My morning…

Good day today. Started out with an hour log walk with the poodle and then time at the farm. Actually got on Lucy today. Did not do anything but walk, and so far I am no worse for the experience. I will try again tomorrow and see if I can do a tiny bit more. Would like to at least walk her the next few days because we are…

Today is almost like a day off. Focusing on just getting my HabitChecker items addressed. Feeling a bit tired after a rigorous weekend so taking today as a recovery day. @jugar Mmmm, strawberries! I have some for lunch nearly every day. Fresh peaches are also delicious right now. @Micki48 Love summer for the fresh produce!…

PW 162.5 (As I suspected, false measure) CW 167.2 (New batteries in the scale) Two weeks in. Very pleased with progress. Down 7 pounds. Hoping to stay at 1 - 1.5 pounds per week going forward. As important as the weight gone is how much better I am feeling. Sleeping better, a lot more energy, improved over-all mood. Again,…

Finally got some much-needed rain yesterday. The grass is no longer crunchy. Pretty uneventful day. Weigh in tomorrow. Expect reality, now that I replaced the batteries in the scale.

@Kali225 Congrats on your new job! Enjoy your pre-start time off. @bowens1973 160 kms through the Rockies. Sounds beautiful (and exhausting!) Impressive!! @micki48 Really interesting about Fitbit. Did not know about that app. Checked mine and found that I have it, but it was not turned on. I really love my Fitbit and all…

I now have yet another motivation for losing weight. Doc appt confirmed a hip issue. Will be scheduled for injection asap. That should resolve the problem for the time being. Next challenge is to push back the ultimately inevitable hip replacement as long as possible. Turns out that for each pound you lose you decrease…

What a horrendously hot day here yesterday. Fortunately, got both dog walked and horse taken care of before the worst of it. Finally had rain this morning and the temps have broken ... high only mid-80s today. At least being forced inside led to getting some much-needed cleaning done! Super pleased with the way things are…

Good day today. Just wish we could get some rain as it is very, very dry here. Have decided to go ahead and start the Habit Tracker this month. Had most of the info stored on FitBit and MFP, so it was pretty easy to record most of the elements going back to the start of the month. It is such a nice tool. I know that if I…

@ells_bellz Please take care of yourself and get better. Hopefully yours will end up being on the minor end of the Covid scale! @Terytha As others have said, you are not alone!! I am returning after a long absence. The last two years have been such a struggle for a number of reasons. Gained back a significant amount of…

@Jugar. Thanks. I was only considering starting Habit Tracker next month because I am feeling that I have enough on my plate at the moment. I really do think it is a great tool! Looking forward to adding it in Aug.

Finally done (except for dog walk) early tonight. Almost done with week 1. So far, I am feeling pretty good about the start. Only one "bad" day on Tuesday when I went to dinner with friends. Restaurant did not have the best choices available, but I at least ate responsibly. I am pleased that I have managed to hit water and…

A good day yesterday. Ended with everything on target … sleep, exercise, food. Still not riding and not at all sure when that might be (☹). The prednisone seem to be helping a bit, but not resolving the situation as of now. Starting to do some exercises that might help. In the meantime, fortunately, walking does not seem…

Yesterday was just ok. Went significantly over my target calories for the day, due to dinner out with friends. Did however, make decent choices and stayed within my normal daily calories allowance so I feel ok about it. Went to doc. Still not a clear diagnosis, but he thinks pain is probably coming from lower back. Have…

Day 2 has gone better than day 1! Have spent some time thinking about realistic goals for this first month. Here they are:* Log daily * At least 30 minutes of exercise every day (This is actually less than usual, but in my current injured state I can’t do what I normally do and too often end up doing nothing ☹ ) * Eat…

Jan110144 (jan) Weigh In Day – Sunday PW 174 CW 174 I introduced myself in the June thread. This will be my first month in the challenge. I am 77, live in Indiana, love riding my horse, playing with my dog, reading, concerts, plays, etc. Not much of the latter here during the summer time as Sept – June are primary moths…

Hi Everyone. I will be joining the team for July (technically rejoining since I participated quite some time ago). I was successful with losing a good amount of weight with MFP, maintained for nearly a year and then ... COVID!! Living alone was quite a challenge and it ended up being a really tough year and a half or so.…
