This is interesting. I used a recipe with VWG to make some rolls-tasted FABULOUS, but very dense and tough. I might give this a toss with some almond flour.
-
I know its going to take some time, but I see little hints that things are changing.

I am like you. My LDL is nearly 300 right now after a year on keto. I am a hyper responder. my trig are trending down, my A1C is down to normal and I am rolling with it till the weight is lost. Then I will see where I am.
-
I finally saw part 2 and it made more sense.

So, new question-regulate thru taxation or awareness? I see changes weekly at my local grocery-new sweetners flours, etc things that show me market driven changes are taking hold. What say you?
-
Your results are close to mine. i swiched out my fats-more fish etc, and will gets new results in afew weeks. but im sticking.

I cook it until it starts to brown. In a mpstly dry pan-justs a splash of olive oil. It seems you are cooking it long enough. Takes a solid 10 minutes or so. You can squeeze it in a towel to get rid of moisture first

@KnitOrMiss I have had horrible stomach issues my entire life. first peptic ulcer in the 4th grade. Irritable bowel symptoms- the cramps and the repeat BMs ruled my life. When I found out I had RA i started taking cucurmin. I have not had a single episode since. There are studies out there about the effectiveness of it for…

Here it is. Lengthy but informative. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3535097/

I started cucurmin for arthritis but found it not only fixed my ibs but also my stomach issues. I take the meriva type. Some contains piperine or Ginger to help with absorbing it but that irritated my stomach. I found out about the effect thru a study that was very informative. I will find it and post after while. I'm on…

Are you taking an NSAID for pain? ;earned from experience it will drive BP straight up.

I love the frozen. Stuff is like crack. Aldi has it cheap. I do not like the taste of cooked cauliflower, but if I pan fry the frozen till moisture gone and just starting to brown, I cant get enough. I think it would be great in meatloaf.

relatively certain this is what happened to me with gaining 6 lbs overnight when I tried to up sodium, That approach is not for me. I do about 3-4 gms daily.
-
Great job on the weight. I am shooting for about 90 lbs. Not working nights day time job.

I am on methotrexate and folic acid. new RA. I went to dr worried about thyroid. He totally dissed me. The dang thyroid can cause the lipid issues too. Yes my macros are 60/35/5 I had the fat set higher, but the recommendation was more protein...but it backfires every time. I am adjusting WHEN I eat my protein and avoiding…

So I have spent the weekend re-reading and re-energizing. Not doing meds. Not. This is crap and Im gonna fix it.

previous numbers-A1c 6.4 total chol-279 HDL 27 LDL-203 trig 213 weight 261 I have never dieted in my life. as long as I was active and could do as I pleased I really didnt care. I am a gardener. or was. weeded for a few minutes yesterday=poof, done. So what if you are a hyper responder-then what?
-
My A1c didnt budge in 6 months. I managed to bring my HDL up 11 points. According to ketogains, 1600 is a 20 percent deficit. I always check several, but they are about the same. I am supplementing magnesium, I tried broth but gained 6 pds overnite. No more of that. I usually get 3 gms sodium per day plus what I apply to…

Here is a link to an explanation of why statins cause T2. Very good explanation. http://www.tuitnutrition.com/2015/04/statins-and-diabetes.html#more

Im very interested in this as I have experienced the exact same thing. Im trying to lose, not in maintenance, but if my fat and protein grams are close together , I stop. and blood sugars over 100. I was on prednisone which I thought was the problem, but quit several weeks ago and still have the issue. I watched the wolfe…

I was doing a pot roast and it kept coming up 21 carbs per serving. I went hunting, the garlic powder had been entered at 145 carbs per teaspoon!!
-
Good info, thanks. I will ask for the test.
-
I might add also, that now I have settled in to low carb and am comfortable, I am working to increase my good fats some more and trying to eat things like avocado which I have hated. My tastes have changed and different things taste good now.

Thats a lot like mine, Total chol-273---369!!! HDL 27---38 LDL-203289 Trig 213209 in 3 months. I expected the total to rise, but seeing that number was still a shock. My dr is probly going to crap his pants. but all my ratios improved significantly except one. And that is with NO statins. And on steroids. I have research…
-
Ok Makes sense. I reconfigured to do more protein and I will see what happens-but the last couple days since I cut I have weight coming off. Yes there is the whole lean muscle mass thing, but I think the steroids are messing with normal processes.
-
The "symptoms" I referred to are pericarditis. That slapped me in the hospital and they found that the RA was what caused it. Within 3 days of cutting my steroid the symptoms of chest/back pain tachycardia etc were back. Its only 10 mg a day, but I am also steroid naive, never had them in my life. I would love to chuck…

My fasting glucose has been creeping up, from 90, to some days 120. When I havent eaten in 12 plus hours! Weirdly enough what I seem to want is fat-really fatty pork cracklins, greasy sausage and bacon, I can eat coconut oil straight out of the jar! I am a nurse also. This is driving me nuts. Maybe I need to fiber…
