This exactly. I quit drinking 10 years ago, and you can't replace it with another bad habit. You need to find things to fill your time that actually make you happy. You also can't allow other people's bad habits to become a justification for your own. If you really want to quit, you have to be ready and able to deal with…

I can sing. And there's not a single person here that can prove otherwise. :)

I like your positivity!

Definitely post it there. I think it could be beneficial to others just starting out and in the same place as yourself. Besides, Chit Chat is really just Fun and Games for those in denial. :)

You might want to post this in the Introduction area to get the appreciation from it that it deserves. While there's a lot of it that I personally cannot relate to, it was very well written, and I'd hate to see the time and thought you put into it go to waste in the Chit Chat area.

I've been sober for over 10 years, but I still enjoy reading through this thread. There are still the rare moments where I want to drink, and I know that's probably not a very encouraging thing to say. But good luck to all of you that are trying to cut back or quit all together!

Apparently so. It's called Hyperdontia.

I think you need to find that support and encouragement in yourself first if you're ever going to be able to stick with this. I could nag you everyday, but the motivation needs to come from yourself. You have a very beautiful child and I wish you the best and hope you reach whatever goals you set for yourself. Don't let…

Are these real?

That apparently this is possible. And that if someone says never to google something, I will.

I'm finding it really difficult believing you're a teacher. I guess given the state of the US educational system, it is a possibility though. You're not there to be popular or to be friends with the kids. If you think that's why you're there, do those kids a favor and consider a career change.

Movies. They're too time consuming and I can never remember what happens in them later on.

Oh, I got hit in the head with a hockey puck.. in a swimming pool, nonetheless, and got asked that same thing by the lifeguard. I blacked out in the water and everything, and the first thing I remember being asked was "Did that hurt?"

When I had a hot water heater replaced, the guy went in the basement, saw the liter box and asked me if I had a cat. I guess he thought it was there for decoration.

I don't work in HR. They go through them and then to me. I think some people save their crazy until they get out of HRs way or they'd never make it any further. lol But yeah, I've had it happen a couple times. I think kids are used to their parents handling so much for them that they haven't properly learned how to do…

One more thing. I don't know how old you are, and this should be obvious but surprisingly it's not. Do NOT have your mom call for a follow up.

And the most awkward interview I ever gave was with a woman that fake broke down and cried in the middle of it. The interview wasn't going well. I knew it, she knew it. Out of no where she just faked sobbing. There were no actual tears. She started begging and telling me everything wrong with her life. I was speechless.…

Try to learn as much about the company as you can. Have your own questions ready to ask. It's not one-sided. Know your strengths and convey them as confidently as you can. Also know your weaknesses and be upfront about them. No one will believe you if you say you don't have any. Dress professionally even if you believe the…
