I'm overweight and I love myself but I also love my son who probably wants me to watch him grow up, I know I want to, but if I dont get healthy I will not. There is accepting yourself and making changes and there is giving up...fat acceptance in my opinion is just giving up.

My petty reason is I am a voice over actress and I would like to look better and move to onstage acting as I am in a industry that live and die on looks I need to fit in the mold. However I have a 5year old son so I have non petty reasons. I wanna live to see him grow up.

Actually a very valid point. But I personally would not allow that to happen to me. I have worked too hard already and I know that too less calories is as bad as too many calories but I agree that the right kind of person could develop a eating disorder with this kind of system.

5'6 and 294...I weighed 400+ a year and 4 months ago. I lost 26 pounds in a month and half at this moment so its doable for me but some of my friends said I am due for a plateau..

Yeah I just moved from Texas to California and I was told by one of my producers to take one tsp of honey from a local area for about a month and my allergy should be better.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking as well but I have become someone who researches everything I eat now. I am not entirely sure if that's good or bad.

I use truvia but I personally do not think by a nutritional standard its really any better because lets face it. It is basically a reminder that many of us cannot do anything without some sort of sweet. On a non nutritional note I like the way Truvia taste better. I would never diss someone who uses splenda.

Everyone thinks they are a expert. Especially if they have always been fit. I use truvia and not splenda but only because I like Truvia better. Its my small sweet for my coffee or my oatmeal. You do you and tell her that you "appreciate" the advice but it is not needed.

Thank you, I see my nutritionist in 2 weeks and my trainer in 3 weeks so I will see what they have to say but just for the record they gave me that. I may actually call one of them today because a lot of people said that was a lot of protein. They started me out on 40% 30% 30% but I wasn't getting the result I wanted.

Thx for the insight. My goal is 50 pounds by September as I am a VO actress and I have to go to New Zealand. But my ultimate goal is to become healthy and lose weight and also add muscle mass. Yeah I know its about changing my way of thinking about food which I have been doing. I am not a vegetarian but primarily I eat very little meat. I eat more veggies and eggs than anything. So in order to get my protein I do shakes as well.

I do not use it as a meal replacement. I use it as a snack otherwise I do not hit my 50% protein for the day.

She said its processed first of all. Second she said that it would cause me to gain in the end. However, in my own experience. I am down 14 pounds in 25 days plus I have gained some muscle mass. So I do not think its hurting me.
