Been a couple days, life has been stupid busy this week with no time to log on and respond. I have had treats almost every day this week. But they did all fit in my calorie budget each day so half win. I should be able to get back to my goals next week!

Daily update: -Last night I had a Healthy Choice Fudge bar and it was way better than I expected it to be. Obviously not nice and rich like ice cream, but it was helped that chocolate craving, was less calorie (to fit in budget), and had surprise helping of fiber =) -Today we are going out to dinner with friends from out…

@glassyo I get what you are saying, and why you are worried. I hope I can put your mind at ease with a little more background info: -I have been on MFP for at least two years now and am only just now feeling ready to really tackle my sugar addiction. I am not jumping on this as an immediate fix or thinking I have to do it…

I have heard the same thing about not being able to break up with food. I try not to think of food as good or bad, at least I don't think I do consciously. Apple & PB is good, I can rarely "afford" it on calorie budget because of the fat to protein ratio of PB. ANd eating apples plain is just...not me =P It used to be…

Good morning, I had a treat last night, which fit in my calorie budget and boy I made it last so much longer instead of just wolfing it down! Any time I wanted to snack during the day I just reminded myself that if I did I could not have the dessert, and stuck to my guns! I have mapped out my food for tonight and have…

Thank you. I'm really trying to avoid having to throw things out. I feel like I should be able to learn self-control instead of having to take an all-or-nothing route. Throwing things away, to me, feels like avoiding the growth I could be teaching myself. Even if obtaining that growth is really really hard.

Yesterday update: I did good. I gave into stress eating at lunch and had a fig granola bar. At least it was on the healthier side of treats, and I updated my logging to reflect it. As I had that I stuck to my goals and did NOT have treat after dinner! I ended the day meeting my macros and not over calorie! I have mapped…

Good morning wonderful people =) @springlering62 Oh yeah I drank a lot of water yesterday, sadly it did not help. I think my brain is doing as other people commented and going "food is energy right? Eat it all right now. That will help right?" Note - it did not help. I did go home and just plop in the bean bag for an hour…

Sadly I never got a taste for coffee, and now caffeinated drinks give me a headache so no energy perk from those. On the plus side I also never got a taste for soda so that wasn't something I had to give up when I started trying to live a healthier lifestyle. Wish I could take a nap, sadly I am at work and snoring is…

Glad I'm not the only one who sleep-eats. I gave in and had a handful of chex mix with my lunch, hoping I get a second wind, and planning a nap the second i get home!

So I know about boredom eating and emotional eating. Is "sleepy eating" a thing? I'm sleep-at-desk tired today (yay stress + cycle + not sleeping last night) and all I want to do is snack. I'm not hungry, I have had a healthy breakfast and it was a sensible portion size. But damn if I don't want to cram random food in my…

Morning update: Yesterday ended strong. I did have dessert but it fit in my calorie goal so I do not feel guilty about it =) Was in a really bad place mentally yesterday. Let the stress of the week build up and this weekend is not letting me recharge as it should for reasons outside of my control. Trying to control my…

Morning update: So far so good! Had to go regular grocery shopping today and got out of the store with NO SUGAR! Grabbed myself some apples for snacking, and ignored the ice cream even though it was on sale. If I have a thoughtful snack and dinner I should have room for a treat tonight but I am not counting on it

@suzleigh1 Yeah nutritionist is not on my insurance so that would be expensive for me. I do have a workout space and I workout 6 days at least 30 mins. It is truly just needing to tighten up that nutrition to see the results.

@springlering62 I love your thought process, although I don't think I could ever consider carrots a treat =P The gamification of fitting in healthy stuff is awesome though! I could see that working with yogurt, fruit, and maybe getting to have "fancy" sides with my dinner meat. Shopping outcome: I got one frivolous thing,…

Annnnd the craving has begun. Also noticed it started around the same time i started feeling sleepy, not sure where that association has come from. Coincidence or not? hmmmm... I still have my greek yogurt to nom, trying to wait until 3pm so I am full before grocery trip and last until dinner time.

@callsitlikeiseeit I have read that thread =) I am in normal BMI range, i guess that is the better descriptor. Although just barely, on the high end of it. I am happy with my body and what it can do, but I also know I can do better and shouldn't stop here just because it is acceptable. Afternoon update: Staying to my…

Meanwhile in SC - If schools create a mask requirement for students they lose state funding. Governor states he will never issue another mask mandate. Only 42% of our state is fully vaccinated, but heaven forbid we go back to wearing masks again. Pre-vaccine there was no state mandate, it was left to the counties to…

@Kevvboy I hope that the cravings will disappear also! I did get some free peaches off the work table yesterday (instead of the candy bars!), and I plan on having those as my sweet treat this weekend once they are ripe. The freebie table is both a blessing and a curse lol. We have no family gatherings that would introduce…

@callsitlikeiseeit I understand what you are saying, and I know at the end of the day it is my decision what goes into my body. I also know that mentally I work better if I have someone to be accountable to. Even if I am shouting into the void and no one ever responds, the fact that I have set myself up to post updates…

Good evening, I managed to stay strong and avoid eating any more sweets! I am proud of myself for not eating any out of habit, and being happy with the decision. Tomorrow is finally Friday, and hopefully the end of what has been a really rough week for me.

Afternoon update: Saw treats (fun sized snickers, milky way, etc) on the breakroom freebie table and did NOT take one! I have no other reason to go in there today so I successfully avoided unnecessary chocolate!
-
Morning update: I caved and got a donut after my dr appt. The stress from this week (medical emergency Mon-Tues + dislike of dentist today) got the better of me. Food diary has been updated to reflect a different breakfast than planned, and I'm still not too far off my goals so I will not let myself feel too guilty.
-
Bedtime update: Dinner got changed because husband wasn't up to what we had planned (he has been sick this week). With the re-arrangement came dessert room calories, so I had a Yasso greek yogurt bar. Delicious, only 100 calories, and helped get a little extra protein in! I could have gone without, but I still have…
-
Lunchtime update: No treats yet. I still have my yogurt if I get a craving, and I just need to ensure I do not have dessert tonight after dinner. I know this dinner, it will make me full and I do not need sugar for hunger or macro reasons. If I eat dessert it is out of habit, not need or want.

Lentil Pasta and Edamame pasta are my secret weapons. Both are great for fiber and protein, without having high fat. Otherwise just try to add a little extra here and there to what you are already having. Have 4 oz of chicken normally? Try for 5. Add more meat to a sandwich, etc.

Kevvboy: I need a body recomp, I want to look a certain way for my own esteem and empty treat calories are preventing me from reaching that goal. I have modified the rest of my diet decently, and reducing treats is the last "easy" target before I need to decide if I'm going to really dig deep on nutrition. And yes I love…

Update 8/24: In the spirit of the September goal, I'll update on yesterday. I was working from home, a rare occurrence, so I had access to additional food than what I would have taken to the office. I gave in and had 2 Nibmor dark choc blueberry squares after lunch. I had them because they were available, I was tired, and…
-
ChaoticMoira: 1/4: I managed to curb the cravings before with things in the house, I know I can do it. Things like instead of having a slice of cake I would have one caramel square, etc. I get that throwing it away is an option, but that is a waste of things I love. Not bringing new things in, I can get behind that. 2. I…

I bought a 30 cal popsicle, and a greek yogurt popsicle to replace icecream. Guess how many i have eaten instead of having ice cream? On the plus side I have been eating up old stores of chocolate and not replacing them.
