Good luck Amy. :) I started back to a structured plan Monday as well after some time off. Best advice... to ensure you're in a caloric deficit track your portions carefully, ideally with a scale. Very easy to be significantly off track otherwise (ask me how I know :| )

I use one fairly often. I did not yesterday, and when I had the same food today and weighed it, I realized I was off on my estimate by 50% (guessed 2 oz., it was 3 oz.). It was only a difference of 35 calories, but if that were my normal error or even close to it, the compound effect of those miscalculations would be…

There are some pretty deep connections between our mental and physical health, and I feel like the key link is our subconscious mind. I’ve enjoyed the book “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” by Tom Venuto where he discusses this at length. The good news is we can have some control and write that script that is running in the…

"Supplements work". No. They don't. I wish I'd known that in my 20's when ironically, some of them did work because they were spiked with anabolic steroids...

Looks great! I had hundreds of eggplant in the garden last summer. Mostly made caponata... only way my kids will eat it!

Good luck! I was able to do that in my 40's. Consistency is the key, and also the reason I need to start over again now.... ha. :p Have a good one!

Hate to hear that. For what it's worth you're not alone. I was diagnosed two years ago, along with rheumatoid arthritis at a point when I was in the best shape of my life. The lupus is in remission now (mostly), and I'm hopeful for some progress with the RA. I can't reliably grip a barbell and the meds have me out of…

I had shoulder surgery in 2017 (bone spurs, torn labrum, bicep tendon rupture). I'm glad that I had it done, but the rehab was difficult. That said, three years on I feel great and the post op PT was critical. As for non-surgical treatment, there is generally a diminishing benefit with subsequent steroid injections into…

https://www.themediterraneandish.com/ I started following this page on IG, and then I realized I had about 10 pages open on my phone browser that were all recipes from the site... I cook two or three a week just from here.

I have RA and Lupus (or at least that's the current, working diagnosis of my 3rd rheumatologist) and I've had to significantly modify what I can do in the gym. The advice above is good. Just a couple of thoughts I'd add... pay a lot of attention to recovery. If you're not feeling 100%, take a rest day. AND, if you have…
