For my next bulk, I'm going to closely monitor bodyfat % and aim for 1.5 - 3 lbs of total weight gain per month. Hitting each muscle twice per week. I'd rather go too slow than too fast.

Results are the best motivator. I'm guessing if you stick to it for at least 2-4 weeks, your progress will help deter you from losing motivation. Mistakes happen though, so don't overdue them when they do happen and don't ever treat your diet/exercise as a "starting over". In other words, when you mess up, don't say "I'll…

I do monthly with consistent lighting. I also use a tape measure and a spreadsheet for calculating body fat %. It's nice having all three options (weight, progress pics, bodyfat) as proof of improvement.

For me, it's anything that's decently trackable. Options for high protein are a big plus.

What makes carbs poison?

Nah, no cult here. Now let's all drink some punch at the same time.

Every message has a writer and every writer has a bias. Even if there wasn't a bias... there is almost never a consensus about anything... so we'd never be able to agree on any message. It wouldn't surprise me if all this pampering of people's ignorance is why scams are so effective. Once people realize they have to take…

I understand your premise, but attempting to limit marketing abilities of companies is still not the answer. People have to look out for themselves, plain and simple. No one is really looking out for them. Companies care about profits, government cares about votes and power. I don't consider any of those more noble than…

I suppose it depends on one's preference. Personally, I dislike cardio more than I like extra food. I agree that HIIT is the way to go if one chooses to do cardio.
-
Certainly, but it's a lot easier for me to not eat a cookie than it is to spend 15 minutes (or however long) on the treadmill.

IIFYM.com. Find out your TDEE. Eat anything you want so long as it fits within your macros and calories.

Cardio isn't necessary to cut fat. I lost 20+ lbs of fat with absolutely zero cardio.

Agreed. I'm not sure there needs to be a label for every possible diet out there. I have milk and a bagel every morning. Let it be known from this day forth, this eating style shall now be referred to as Milkagle-Ante-Meridiem-tarian. (TM)

It's your business, but why would you want it to be when it's invalid? When people make baseless decisions, it shouldn't surprise them when other don't support them.

Ha, I hadn't seen that yet. Yes I am!

Someone didn't understand the question, I gave an admittedly simplistic example. Given the rampant number of misinformed self-diagnoses, I tend to take anyone's personal experiences and anecdotes with a dump truck of salt. Non-celiac gluten sensitivity likely doesn't exist: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23648697…

"Over-complicating" it could allow you to eat more foods without getting sick. Assuming you are allergic to something else rather than gluten, you could go back to eating breads and such if you wanted while avoiding your actual allergy. As a simplistic example, say I'm allergic to cheese. Whenever I eat sandwiches with…

One day I put my left shoe on before my right, and I got into a fender bender. I learned my lesson, I always put my right shoe on first now.

We had a clothes rack, ahem, elliptical... but ended up selling it. If you're dead set on getting one, we did like the one we had (Ironman Ascender).... also make sure to check craigslist... there are a ton available on there. You'll also get an idea of how to sell yours when the time inevitably comes :) Personally, I'd…

Have you been tested for other allergies? Avoiding gluten likely makes you avoid something else that you actually are allergic to.
-
Average lifespan of humans during the paleolithic era was 33. Why are people copying this eating lifestyle again?
-
I'm pretty sure I remember reading that non-celiac gluten intolerance was proven false.

Placebo is a hell of a drug!

You could try reverse dieting for a while.

The difficulty of switching will probably depend on how much crap of theirs you currently have... but no matter what, I don't think it will be that bad. Most things works fine independently anyway. I'd say it's worth a try... it's probably not too difficult to switch back (sell your phone and buy another iphone).

Unless you already looked pretty damn good, losing water weight probably won't help much.
-
How dare you talk bad about ice cream! It's man's greatest invention, second only to air conditioning of course.

I have noticed that most anyone I know that has switched, has been happy... although there have been a few exceptions.
