  • I thought I’d update you all. Tonight I just completed week 7 run 3 of couch to 5 k (which is 5 min walk, 25 mins running and 5 min cool down walk. This was my 4th 25 min run in a row. Um avg. about 7.2mins/km....I’ve also completed to park runs (organised 5k events but I’m not able to run non stop yet. First attempt was…
  • Hey guys- just an update, I’ve completed week 3 of couch to 5k and definitely feel fitter. I also registered for my local park run (5k every sat morning) and did my first try today. I couldn’t run non stop but pushed as hard as I could with a time of 36.27 minutes. Pretty proud for first try. I plan to complete every other…
  • I did my first couch to 5 today (I took yesterday off thanks to shin splints from pushing too hard Sunday). I thought about waiting a day more as my legs are still feeling heavy, but I figured I’d be walking the dogs anyway so a little jog in between would be fine. So day 1 - I found this easy (60 seconds run then 90…
  • Wow you guys are so supportive- it is a breath of fresh air. I know a lot of “serious” runners and they almost seemed to belittle my efforts. One even laughed and said “ haha are you sure you were even running?!” - I could’ve punched him! That pushed me today and I think I over did it a little- I did 2.5km in just under 19…
  • I think there are lots of conflicting sources of info bottom line I trust my watch figures tbh.
  • I mainly make up my own dinners really. Like an omelette with peppers onions and ham (perhaps ham is sodium high?) I don’t eat crisps, pretzels, frozen dinners.... I eat Heinz spaghetti or baked bean pots sometimes... is fruit high in sodium? I’m so confused right now. I have the occasional dollop of ketchup I suppose!…

  • UWell that’s when I add a slice of toast to my breakfast and allow myself a treat every now and then? Like a donut or dessert? I find healthy fillers hard. I’m great at adding extra calories with unhealthy options though!
  • Actually my sister works in the cosmetic surgery industry and she swears by the benefits of dry brushing daily. It’s super cheap to. A brush for a £5 and oil another £5. Hardly robbing you of hard earned cash...Done right it does well for your skin.
  • I suppose I came from slimming world to this. Where my total weight loss goal was 3 and a half stone (based on 13 stone starting) and they constantly encourage you to aim for 2-3 a week! And if you maintain you are extra vigilant the following week. Maybe I should increase this then and start aiming for a lb a week.…
  • I have to say congratulations on such an amazing loss. Fantastic result. Loose skin is tough to deal with and it depends how bad it is. My belly has loose skin from childbirth and no amount of exercise has fixed this. There are ways to help though. Some say body brushing and oil can help stimulate the skin etc improving…
  • 1700 +700 in my avg inactive/active burn so I think for 2lb loss I should aim for 1400 which is only 102 more than my example? Any fast cheap and easy filler snack suggestions to bridge the gap?? (Other than fruit and veg!) I’ll definitely drink more but I struggle identifying salty food- can you advise ones to watch out…
  • The nuts were raw almonds
  • No I don’t often eat back exercise calories. I eat a fair amount I feel and I can’t physically take much more to work and after dinner I put my kids down and am free from about 9:30. Then it’s a bit late. I can’t throw in a chocolate bar or anything as I’m a bit of an addict. Re. The calorie calculation. I think you’ll…
  • I'm now thinking water retention - must be it as I went from no exercise to about 8 days straight of 8km a day. I also think I don't drink enough water maybe to help flush this through. example days food: Breakfast: Banana and small handfull of nuts( weighed out) = 249 calories Lunch: Sushi pack, fruit pot = 323 calories…
  • I think my main issue is that I have been dieting since start of April. I was being mindful of what I ate and I lost about 1 stone by end of May. Then I stopped losing so I have actually been maintaining since the first week of June. I started using MFP two weeks ago to try and identify the issue and to try and get as…
