I've tried several of them and like them all. As far as the texture goes you really need to let them soften a bit before eating, makes a world of difference.

I use organic heavy whipping cream. It's loads more expensive but has a better Omega 3 profile than regular cream.

I wouldn't worry about "...nothing for a few days", weight loss doesn't always reflect on a daily basis. Where did you get your 1600 cal/day goal from?

Very low carb diets can throw off your body's ability to make mucus (which includes tears for your eyes). I had that problem initially, it seems to have cleared up. You may try increasing your carbs just a little and see if it helps.

I love the low-carb tortillas, but be sure to read the ingredients, they can be a little iffy. The ones from Mission that I've seen have trans fats in them. It's low so they don't have to list in the nutrition info, but it's still in the ingredients list. I've been getting the Ole brand recently.

I've found a few different types in my area. One is shelf stable and the others refrigerated. After rinsing and draining I like to "dry fry" them for a bit to drive out some of the moisture. It seems like that helps them to pick up some of the flavor of the sauce they're going in to.

"Clean" is usually compared against "dirty" keto. Dirty keto doesn't care where the calories come from just as long as they fit into your desired macro-nutrient profile. Micro-nutrients and quality of fats don't get much attention. Dirty keto is a double bacon cheeseburger (no bun), clean keto would be grilled salmon with…

I'm not real clear on where you found "pork chops over quinoa with spiralized beet and arugula salad" as a keto meal plan, but I'd recommend you look some place else for ideas. I'm not much on meal plans so can't help you there. I eat a lot of leafy greens and cruciferous veggies and a small amount of berries as the…

Maybe I'm just old, but I too just like my coffee to taste like coffee. I take mine black with just a sprinkle of sweetener. If I could find grass fed cream (that didn't cost and arm and a leg) I'd use a splash of that too. Sophie

Ditto this. Don't get too hung up on trying to have "breakfast" for "breakfast". Not for everyone I'm sure, but a can of sardines in olive oil is my first meal of the day a couple times a week. Sophie

1/4 cup whole milk Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup water, heaping tablespoon of chia seeds and 1/4 cup mixed berries. I mix it all together before work and by lunchtime it's thickish. A note on the nutrition info for yogurt though, the carb numbers are always based on all of the lactose still being there, but in reality 75-90% has…

It depends on what I am using it for and what kind of beef it is. If I have grass fed beef then I'll probably leave it in because of the better Omega 3/Omega 6 ratio.

For me, good carbs are the ones that are nutrient dense. Looking at my daily macros I try to make sure that they are coming more from veggies and the like and not incidental sugars or nutrient poor foods like refined grains.

I started to notice more hairs in the brush every morning at about the 4 month period. As mentioned already, a stress reaction to losing weight can cause this happen as well as not having enough protein in your diet. I raised my macro for protein and added daily collagen and now (7 months into keto) the hair loss seems to…

For me personally, weighing daily would be an exercise in frustration. There's just too many things that can cause a pound or two gain or loss here and there. In addition to tracking your macros you need to watch total calories too.

I gave up on the breads also. Too calorie dense without nutrients I'm looking for. And almond flour is much too high in Omega 6's for me. I haven't been having any problem getting enough fiber, I average 20-25 g/day. Half a cup of cooked greens (turnip, collards, kale, spinach, etc) in chicken stock with a teaspoon of good…

As I keep telling my husband, there is no such thing as a "keto" food. I can eat whatever I want, maybe just not as much of it as I would like. It's the overall balance between macros that makes your diet keto. Can't help much with a Christmas dinner as our tradition is the local Chinese buffet, but for Thanksgiving I plan…

Coffee. Hot. Every single day as soon as I get up. Several cups. And I use heavy cream and an erythritol/stevia blend in it.

I think it depends on what your goals are. I am trying to drop weight and if I don't keep track of my calories then it's not going to happen.

The calculator I used to get my macros took into account my lifestyle and activity level, so I just go by that.
