  • I think this really depends on the density of your body and age. I’m 5’2, 42 years old. In my 20s I weighed 130 lbs and everyone thought I weighed 100 lbs. I remember playing “guess my weight” at the state fair and the guy was really genuinely shocked that I was 130 lbs. I wore a size 4/6. I got down to 115 lbs at one…
  • It makes me feel a little better to hear it can last a week. But I still don’t like seeing it on the scale. I come from a family who made me feel so small for being overweight as a kid. Psychological damage like that doesn’t go away over night and this has really put me in a dark mood. 😔
  • I actually do pretty good in the winter because I go outside more. I have a condition that makes me not tolerate heat well so I tend to stay in more on the hot days.
  • Great! Thank you so much!!! After all the work I just did on myself the passed year, even a small weight gain had me freaking out. You guys just made my day!
  • Dominoes was for dinner because I saved so many calories having veggies for lunch. 😉 Eat Smart, don’t deprive. I’ve lost 30 lbs on this philosophy.
  • Peppers, carrots and tomatoes broiled with a tablespoon of olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • Haha! I’m fully aware that I’m overthinking it! I’m not feeling bad from it but it’s an observation that had popped into my head.
  • Thanks everyone! Turns out all I needed to do was say it and be told to just do it. Lol! I’ve logged the last 2 days and gotten back into the routine. No other way than just friggen do it, right?
  • Yes, it is about calories in and calories out. But also, yes, hormones play a part. I put weight on with Lexapro despite never eating fast food (vegetarian for 25 years), no soda, nothing fried - basically healthy eating AND training to run a full marathon. The only thing that took the weight off was switching to…
  • The game is all about a calorie deficit. You aren’t going to lose weight by adding more calories though I don’t believe you should be on such a restricted calorie diet. I’m not in the medical field, but my first thought with you being on very low calorie diet and hardly losing was to get your thyroid checked. It is very…
  • Yeah, I didn’t realize it was that much! Being a SAHM is no joke. My husband was out of town for work for 6 days and I wish I had the tracker then because I’m sure it was near 20k daily. Lol! I did a dumb thing and took the kids to an amusement park by myself. Wearing one and pushing 2 in a double stroller. It had been…
  • Thank you, this is what I was looking for! Yes, I do now see the conflict with busy and my settings since I got the Fitbit. I knew I was busy but I didn’t know I was that busy. I thought I was doing more sitting than what I actually am. I work harder now than I did when I was managing a a whole office. I kind of feel like…
  • Yes for me. I actually never lose any weight until I wean completely. My body holds on to the extra fat every time.
  • Oops! I pushed myself that extra EIGHT .6 miles. ;)
  • Absolutely, do it! I ran a 5k within months of beginning to run. Then a 10k then a half marathon then a full marathon, all within a year. Signing up for the smaller races leading up to the marathon (which was my goal) really helped me with mini goals. I had much more energy and motivation during the races with everyone…
  • Thanks for all the replies! I decided that there’s a new tradition in our house for Halloween - come home after trick or treating, empty the buckets on the floor and go nuts. Lol! That’s what we did. It was fun and I don’t feel guilty this morning. I then pulled out 3 pieces for each kid for the day and had my husband hide…
  • Lol! I’m short too but I have numerous stools around the house. That’s a good idea to pre-log.
  • I don’t have a diet plan. I have lost close to 100lbs 15 or so years ago and became a dictionary of how many calories everything has. I had 35lbs to lose from 3 back to back babies this time and I stay home with then. For me, following. Diet plan gets tedious and time consuming, time I don’t have, and I lose interest. I…
  • I stopped breastfeedkng 5 months ago. Too hard to keep up cluster feedings with 2 toddlers demanding constant attention! But yes, this is mostly why I never lost weight from the first baby on. I was either trying to keep up supply or pregnant.
  • Thank you! From my research, I did figure that a good portion of the weight loss was water weight but to see the initial large loss is the best motivator to keep on track. I’m just happy something is happening and I feel like it’s taking no effort at all. I want to be back to feeling like myself and not hating the warm…
  • I’m still new to fitness pal and haven’t had the time to navigate it so not sure how to add friends and such. I’m 40 years old, had 3 kids in just under 3 years and I’m trying to lose 25 lbs.
  • Sorry, missed the part at the end with all the restrictions. This will be challenging and relegated to few choices and lots of repeat meals. The only thing I can think of other than nuts would be bean and some green vegetables based meals. It’s actually hard to become protein deficient. Don’t listen to all the judgements.…
  • Hi, my children are exactly the same. They are 7 months, 2 and 3.5 and have never had meat and will not until they’re old enough to decide for themselves. They’ve never had any issues, always healthy and weighing an average amount. I introduced nut products to them at 8 months. For every meal, I make sure they have a…
  • I tend to agree with you about this. I do however worry that I’m not getting enough calories. When I was 20, I weighed 215 and lost 90 lbs in the span of 2 years by drinking slim fast for most of my breakfasts and lunches as well as burn 500 calories every.single.day with cardio and did weights. By the time I was done, no…
  • Tavistock i measure everything out. If I’m cooking for the family, I add all the calories up that I’ve mixed in the pot (as a vegetarian, I usually make one dish meals) then divide it by however many potions. I’m very meticulous about it.
  • I’ve been a vegetarian for 23 years now so I’ve always gotten tons of veggies in my diet. Obviously, a lot of other non-meat foods can cause weight gain or I wouldn’t be trying to lose weight. I guess I’m still operating on old think from my 20s about all fat free, low cal foods to lose weight. I still feel anxiety and…
  • Ok, so whole egg, yes to pb, yes to mayo, etc. I’m definitely eating healthy and lots of veggies. I just have a hard time consuming more food because I feel full. I’ll start adding more heathy fat to my diet, that should fix it. Thanks!
