  • @BradsInnerFire thanks for the input. I’m taking it slow. Not going too fast. Right now I decided to start over with week one. I can talk ok I don’t get winded, my legs get tired. Maybe that’s a sign im going too fast too? I try to walk (I’m doing this on the treadmill) at a 2.8 and then jog at like a 3.5. Which is…
  • @LoKoMi I’m looking st the great pumpkin race. I live right outside Allentown which is about and hour north of Philadelphia. I haven’t run since high school either! Which is why I don’t know where this sudden urge to run had come from!! Lol but I’m determined!!!
  • @liz0269 that’s awesome!! I guess that’s basically what I’m doing. Though the program I’m doing has me increase by 30 seconds each week. I may try increasing by 10 seconds like you’re doing now. May be much easier until my legs get stronger.
  • @ultradreamz thanks I’ll check it out!
  • @laceygaywilson yay!! Sounds like a plan!!!
  • @laceygaywilson well I’m in Pennsylvania! I would love it!! I have no one to run with me either! I’m focusing on a race in October. I have to be ready by then don’t you think????
  • Hi all. I’m Linda. I’m 51 and new here and new to running. I am currently doing From Fat To Finish Lines learn to Run 1mile program. I’m actually starting week 3 but am redoing week 2, I got discouraged after day 1 of week 2 because I couldn’t complete all my intervals. Instead I should’ve been thinking great job at…
  • @emmamcgarity I’m feeling much better and still motivated!! Though it was 4 days of no exercise I still managed to walk the last 3 days of the week. Today I restart week 2 of the program with lots of positive vibes!! Thanks for asking!!
  • @its_cleo that’s what I like about the From Fat To Finish Line program. It’s not advancing me too quickly. Only adding running time by smaller increments so they are much more attainable. Which equals success in my book!!
  • @Commander_Keen I like your advice. I also like the 10 second increases as compared ton30 second increases!! And your right small goals reap huge rewards!!
  • @bionicpuffy I’ve never heard that name before. I’ll have to check it out!!
  • @laceygaywilson I’m in no way giving up no matter how many times I have to do Week 1 or 2 over!! I’m looking forward to running my first 5k in the fall! I’m my biggest motivator and cheerleader lol!!
  • I am!! I realize I’m my own worse enemy with the negative thoughts. So I just put them away!
  • @emmamcgarity thanks for tagging me but I don’t think I ever got any notice. Or I don’t know where to look!! Just figuring this community board out. Maybe you could try again? Thanks so much for thinking of me and sorry for the delayed response I was in a rut. But clawing my way out now!
  • @laceygaywilson who hoo!! For you 9 days too Late but better now than never! You’re an inspiration that maybe I can do this after all.
  • @zoedayan7 so it’s been like 9 days since I’ve been back here. I’ve been in a slump finally finding my way out. How are you doing?
  • @Commander_Keen thanks for replyingg to me way back when... 9 days ago! I’ve been in a slump. Trying not to get drowned in negative thoughts. But I did my monthly measurements and everything is heading in the right direction so I guess I’m doing ok. I like your way of adding small increments to your times. Kudos to you for…
  • Hey everyone! I had a not so good week so far. I got into a bad funk on Dunday and am now just coming out of. I really had a hard time with day 1 of my week 2 FFTFL 1mile program. I found I could run for a minute but couldn’t complete all 8 cycles which bummed me out. I know now that things aren’t going to happen right…
  • @hobansarah hi Saran I’m Linda. I’m new to running too. I’m 51 and teaching myself to run! I tried the couch to 5k program but unfortunately since I’ve literally really never exercised in my life found I couldn’t keep up with the pace. I couldn’t run for 1 minute the first week. But, I did find a program called ‘FromFatto…
  • @korina75 hey my name is Linda. I just started learning to run but have been searching for almost a year for a good ‘doable’ program. Look up From Fat To Finish Lund’ online. I’m only doing their learn to run a mile program running 30second intervals and walking 90 seconds. But, I know they have different running programs…
  • Hi all! Started week 2/day 1 of From Fit To Finish Line, intervals of running(jogging)1 minute/walking 1:30. I was so worried that I wouldn’t be able to complete the 8 cycles but I did! My legs are tired but, am excited to see if it will be easier the next time. Tomorrow is a rest day on my schedule. How did you all make…
  • Zoedayan77 you can do this!! Even when you don’t feel like it! Make yourself! You’ll be amazed how good you feel when it’s over! Funjen1972 thanks! I don’t know if I consider myself a ‘real ‘ runner yet but I’m trying hard to get there! Today I did my intervals at runfor 60 seconds/walk for 90. I did it! I was amazed! I’m…
