  • How does careful slow prepapration result in consistncy that a pressure cooker does not? Can you explain?
  • Working out is when I started to feel the imbalance in my body. I've got a left hamstring ache from jogging (new to the C25K game) and I've got a left side groin ache that I think is from poor form in free standing squat routines. I can see a small size difference from one side to the other, but not so much that it is…
  • https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-to-meal-prep - google is your friend. this is just one of many links that show up searching on "meal prep". i'd suggest also that an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker cuts the prep time in half or more, and well worth it so you don't end up resenting time in the kitchen on…
  • Do yourself a favor and use MFP to calculate your goals and set your calorie requirements for the day. That will take away some of the stress of managing changes in your life, and possibly make it easier to focus on the anti-smoking campaign. DOn't forget a food scale to use for portion control. good luck!
  • I think you're halfway to success by identifying that you snack when you're bored or procrastinating. The same problem gets me as well. It's mind over matter - my mind knows choices matter. It's not easy, but, more often than not I am able to mindfully do something that matters more than feeding an emotional trigger. good…
  • I can tell you how I quite smoking tobacco and maybe it will work for you. It was basically a kind a self-hypnosis that worked like this: 1. visualize one of those devices used to smoke meats. 2. when you lie down to go to sleep tonight, repeat the following sentence: I am not a smoker. 3. repeat that sentence…
  • today I will refer problems at work to the person responsible instead of trying to fix it myself.
  • I use MFP to set my calorie goals, meal prep most of my food in advance, use a scale to weigh my food portions so I stay within my calorie budget, and, most importantly (to me) , I work in portion-appropriate amounts of ALL the foods I enjoy eating. Try replacing the sweet drink with sparkling water and a slice of citrus…
  • I'm the type who looks both ways - twice - before stepping one foot off the curb. And then I fast-walk, or run, to the other side. Related side bar: does it seem like no one teaches kids to look both ways before crossing anymore?
  • 3 eggs, sunnyside up, cooked in 1 tsp of ghee, + a clementine.
  • I have a similar recipe, and I just put the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes, and then use a teaspoon to put a small dollop on the cookie sheet.
  • i had that problem for a little while until I figured out that my ipad had different settings in the goals than I had put into my iphone. maybe that will help you?
  • I cut back my eating out by probably 80% once I got serious about my fitness goals. I make most all my own meals, and stay pretty darn close to my calorie In goals. This choice takes away the stress of trying to figure out the exact calorie count of a restaurant meal. hope that helps!

  • a left-handed chaise lounge
  • I gave up on fresh spinach. Frozen spinach and frozen petite green peas are my green veg of choice; going with frozen gives me consistency and year round availability.
  • many chain restaurant items are in the database already. try searching on Chipotle Chicken burrito bowl
  • My trainer likes to mix up rowing with body weight work. She'll have me switch back and forth between rowing for a couple of minutes, and doing 10-15 lunges, or crunches, or somesuch. Good form is really key on all exercises, and for some reason I find rowing much harder, but, very effective when done 'right', good luck to…
  • pasties, or a bandaid, or a piece of tape over the nips should take care of that problem.
  • I can share my thinking about this and it might help you. * There is no quick fix. * Eating is a requirement for living. * Find an eating plan that you can live with, and, stick to it as close to every day as you are able to. * Use MFP to set your goals, use a scale to weigh your food, and log everything you eat. * Accept…
  • I don't agree with this ^. I would say instead that there are many very knowledgeable people here at MFP whose experienced stories can be useful to others, and, there are credible forms of documented research available to support the findings in the MFP community posts.
  • You're misinterpreting my words with the use of "requirement". I do rank cooking very high on the value list of things I do to manage my weight. I'll add that learning to cook has very positive benefits for my cash flow, since I can feed myself for a fraction of what it costs to eat out.
  • Have you set your goals in MFP with your current and goal weights? Do you have a nice digital food scale? I meal prep also, and with a food scale and MFP, it's never been easier for me to stay focused and on track. good luck to you!
