Now that I think about it, I quit nail-biting when I was 15. I basically just decided. I also quit eating meat In my 20s. For this, I had to convince myself. Once I was convinced it was a net positive I stopped. Both times it was cold turkey. For nail-biting I started putting on bright colors on my nails that would easily…

I have two dresses (one size US 14 and the other size EU48) that have back zippers. I get in the dresses, I can even wear them with jackets, but I'd like to zip them up completely. I tried them on this past week-end; I'll make another attempt mid-November.

You should brag; yeah!! That's amazing. I can't even Imagine the type of patience it takes to day in day out be aware of how many calories you are eating and make sure it's low enough to continue losing for 1; 10; 20; 50; 80... 163!! Did you think you'd make it? Thanks for sharing this with us. The pictures and the health…

You've seen the light. Good luck.

Impressive. Keep it up!

Oh wow :open_mouth: Do people eve and recognize you?

Congrats on your progress so far. What have you diagnosed the problem as? (ie why have you gained back the weight each time?)

In the evening I did a 20 mins arms and abs dumbbell workout with fitbymik on YouTube. Then 15 mins cardio still with fitbymik. Now, this one barely counts as a workout but I started this 10 mins beginners session by The Jump Rope guys. They say do it as often as you need to in order to get comfortable, and I think I'll be…

I had a slice of birthday cake at lunch time yesterday; a fraisier, really tasty. There's a slice leftover. I didn't want it last night, and then again today either. AND I am not eating it because I don't want it enough. I normally would just eat it because it's there and it's good.

I am on and off MFP but when I come back I know you'll be here with your no nonsense common sense advice. I've lost and regained a couple of times and your long-term maintenance is an inspiration.

One colleague today asked me if I had lost weight yaaay! Lol. That comes after I'd spent 10 minutes looking at face pictures from two months ago and from today, doubting that there was any difference, wondering if what I'm doing is working (I don't weigh myself. Scared of the number I might see). My colleague's question is…

I ordered a lunch that I usually get but hadn't had for a couple of months. I was really hungry. I ate half of it and was full and I stopped. I usually finish the portion either because I am hungrier or just because the food is in front of me. I'm happy that my appetite is slowly decreasing and/or I recognize my hunger…

I wore these pants today and they fit comfortably!! YES! I wore them with a safety pin two months ago when on vacation, and last month I still couldn't zip and close the button. Before vacation they was tight, uncomfortable. I am not weighing myself, and most of my clothes are stretch or large enough so I didn't really…

Same process, same results! Good luck.

You've come to the right place! Welcome.

To log consistently for the next three weeks - including a 5 days work trip and another week away from home.

It starts with a week. Please come back next week to say you've made it to two. Good luck!

You are much smaller you mean:-D Great job! Inspiring to see the long term dedication.
-
Good luck on this life saving journey for you and your wife.

I had to laugh at the "effortlessly" part of your answer. The poster did mention reducing calories to 1500 and exercising (albeit gently) up to 2hrs a day.

Advice often given by people who have never attempted to lose weight...

I have decided not to weigh myself this time around. I lost a lot of weight and gained it back plus some; weight loss was my obsession. I am trying to just eat healthy, in reasonable portions (hence MFP) and exercise,. I want the idea of a lifestyle to stick. As much as I have always told myself that I would be a life long…

I feel you. I had to buy clothes in bigger size because I am a professional and after one year of ill fitting clothes I just couldn't anymore. Congratulations on your achievement. Good fitting clothes just have a way of making one feel better.

Why do you see it as boarding/not boarding? Is it not more an issue of how they sit people so that weights are better distributed? A few years back they used to allow more luggage allowance. On international travel at least it has decreased. Maybe because passengers' weights are already accounted for?

It's a piece of information. Where is the debate side of it?

My cousin is getting married in December. I have a few gowns that I can wear... If I lose like 50 lbs. Was in the hospital a few weeks ago and they couldn't find my veins. Said weight gets in the way. Again: closet full of smaller clothes.

I want to say : just don't talk about it. But it wouldn't work because you are talking about your boyfriend and if/when you live together it'll be harder to him to not notice. You can show him some pictures from various periods in your life and tell him that's the tool you've found that helps you the best to stay…

Slimfast South Beach Phase 2 It was before calory counting apps and they were good ways for me to control my food intake. They also "worked" inasmuch as I was exercising 2hours a day when I did either of them. I see a lot of people mentioning Atkins as a fad. But then people who do keto swear it's a lifestyle not a fad.…

It's not about about being sensitive. It's a totally bewilderment. You see some "disagree" sometimes and think: disagree with WHAT? I have been pondering that myself this week. I was on the debate section. The DEBATE section. Someone asked a question. People disagreed. With a question.
