I still get them but not nearly as often or as severe so yes, they've helped me greatly. My biggest fear was getting a stress fracture. And I agree with other posts, get fitted for shoes by a professional at a running store.

My shifts were 2 x 07:00-19:00 and 2 x 19:00-07:00 then off for 4 days. I typically reversed my meal schedule on nights, starting with dinner, lunch then breakfast. No way I could have a dinner meal 2-3 hrs before heading home to bed. I always snack on fruit/veg or nuts if I need a little something in between. I spend myβ¦

I also suffer from shin splints. I've started using compression socks, lots of stretching after my run sessions and foam rolling.

I meal prep the day before I go back to work for 4 back to back 12 hr shifts. Yesterday, I made slow cooker chicken tikka masala (served on basmati) and spicy thai chicken coconut soup. Sorry, no photos but SOOOO delicious!

In 2012, I was where you are. I'm so sorry you are going through this. All you can do is your best and don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day. They will happen, but less and less. :)

My attic is pretty much outfitted with what I need for weights/bench, plus I have a treadmill.....but who can stay focused at home when you have 2 pups running around? LOL The 24/7 gym in my town pretty much sucks so I use the gym at work (fortunate on that front) Trying to make myself go back to crossfit!

I wish I had more time in the gym....only have 60 min lunch break during a 12 hr shift. Thankfully I can eat at my desk!
