I usually find that I crave things when I’m bored or procrastinating. Exercise kills the bordom cravings and actually cracking down to a task (even if it’s not the one I’m putting off) helps to take my mind off procrastination cravings.

I’d love to hear some of your recipes for vegan/vegetarian keto, especially to order in a restaurant because I seriously struggle! Thanks for the suggestion about eating together as well - maybe I just need to be more upfront
-
Yeah I mean vegetarian and keto. I like the idea of a salad with eggs - I’ll ask for that next time I have brunch out! I’ve asked for scrambled eggs before with just eggs and no milk which had worked okay, but I tend to have to explain to my friends what I’m doing then!

Yeah I do eat eggs and dairy (although a lot of my meals become vegan as I try to keep carbs low!) I struggle in restaurants as lots of things have added sugar and carbs lurk in everything. A veggie lasagne is really the best I get in most restaurants near me and clearly that doesn’t work! I love a good tuppaware with a…

This discussion’s spiralled somewhat! I don’t mind because it was beginning to feel a little accusatory. To get back to keto, I’d be interested to know how people explained what how and why they’re eating in that way. In social situations it can be hard to explain why you’ve brought your own food (I can’t really eat school…

I honestly didn’t mean to cause any offence with my post, which was, in fact, trying to highlight the extreme diet culture that we don’t need in out society. If anyone wants to talk to me about the post, I’ll happily discuss it with you. This isn’t a meme, but I hope it can provide hope or help for people who might have…

Maybe I’m showing my ignorance, but I don’t know what a snark is?? 😂

Yeah IF us so easy on keto. It’s made my Christmas a lot easier as I wasn’t hungry until the really late lunch!
-
Yeah I’m certainly not evangelical - I just do what’s best to control my sleep disorder and PCOS

@AnnPT77 I would say I eat two servings with a typical breakfast. That could be spinach and celery. Then lunch would usually have leeks, tomatoes or spinach baked into it whether it’s baked egg or tart. That would have a serving of salad or kale crisps on the side. Supper might be a salad bowl with 100g or rocket, 100g of…

I respect the vegetable issue, but it’s not a problem for me on strict keto. I’m vegetarian as well, so often the base of my meal contains vegetables (cauliflower hash browns for example) and I pair that with sides of griddled or steamed greens. Rocket or pea shoots are also incredibly low carb so big salads with lots of…

Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll definitely give them a listen. In terms of overall health and well-being, you really can’t beat Fit & Fearless. So inspiring and empowering!

Thanks guys!

Thank you all so much, that’s all really useful advice. @GottaBurnEmAll, yes I do eat things like tofu normally, but the Keto recipe website I’m useing doesn’t seem to use ingredients like that. Do they fit into the Keto diet?
-
Thank you, I’ll have a look at those threads. I’ve looked at some recipes and they’re all ridiculously high calorie - how can I ever create a deficit?

I’m about to go Keto to try to kick my habit of binging on bread. I want to continue to be vegetarian, but I’m worried about eating too much cheese and too many eggs. I’m also worried about lacking fibre. Is there anything I can do to make the transition easier and make sure I don’t gain weight from all the cheese my meal…

Never fails to make me laugh

I’m actually the same. A bad scale day (and I know that might just be water weight) can lead to a total spiral off my plan. I do want to see my numbers go down, but it’s not everything. However, some days I just cry because my appearance feels like everything and I can’t get it how I want it to be, but I also know that I’m…
-
No that’s fascinating. I’d really love to know more; especially about the different types of fats and carbs. I’ll definitely have a think about the differences between nutrients and calories the next time I meal prep.
-
Yeah it’s so hard. You want to lose weight, but a restrictive diet (that would work for weight loss) eventually causes a binge that sabotages your efforts. Do you believe that all calories are created equal??
-
@Lounmoun it’s really nice to hear those things; it’s especially interesting to hear about the differences between you and your parents. Peoples’ relationships with food do change over lifetimes and generations. ‘Eat food they like’ yesssss 😍 Which foods/recipes do you like and spend time prepping and enjoying?
-
@sarahbums those tips are amazing - I love the last one especially 😇 If any more strike you, I’m sure we’d all love to read them
-
No don’t worry! Go ahead and derail it! I’ve not seen any of her posts, what sort of things about it?
-
I love that thank you so much! Fostering a healthy relationship with food is hard, but I think I’m getting there. What do you do to help you achieve this positive mindset?
-
@kommodevaran yes 😍 I love that! I wish more people felt the same way. For example, I’d love it if we could all get over the fear of fats that has been cultivated by the media. If enjoyed in moderation (or as part of a carefully-planned Keto diet) there’s nothing to fear:…

@bigbandjohn that sodium tip is excellent and I’ll start using that. MFP’s always telling me that I go over my sodium guideline. I’ll also try that meal prep and snack trick. Especially snacks - I try not to snack but sometimes lunch seems an awfully long way away!

I wish the food industry made it easier to live more healthily. Not even lose weight because there are loads of pills and fad diets to ‘help’ you there. It’s hard to make good choices in this day and age. Who agrees?!?
