That is exactly what I use. I wish I knew what they put in it. I'm addicted to the stuff.

Everything he said, plus broccoli. Fresh or frozen steamed broc has a ton of potassium per calorie.* *Make that a kitten-ton... https://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/vegetables-and-vegetable-products/2357/2

I should have said "milk free" since we do keep our own stashes of yogurt and mine is of the bovine variety. All other dairy has been taken out of the house. I have noticed, though, that when we go out to eat with our vegan friends (or did in the before times) say at a pizza place, I will get my pizza with real cheese b/c…

Thanks @TheMrWobbly ...I remember all your encouragement when I was trying to finish C25K. Seems like ages ago but it was just fall of 2019. Crazy. I just figured out how to port my Strava data automagically to the challenge website. Whew. That's a time saver. :-) --durhammfp

Love this quote. Pretty funny...and accurate.

Also, on Challenge Hound, what does "miles behind pace" refer to? Pace for the entire group to finish the challenge?

Just saw this. I have put in my data for Jan 1 through Jan 6. (I'm trying to do RED January this month...) Oh, and I am in Durham, NC, USA. I could not figure out how to enter fractional minutes so I did some rounding. Cheers! DurhamMFP

Same here. The only reason our house is dairy-free is because of a casein allergy. :-(

Depends. I use a flip belt and it is very snug on me: https://flipbelt.com/flipbelt. Another advantage of the flip belt is that most of the openings do not have zippers. Anything I have used like this before, the zipper has broken way too soon.

So much good advice on here. As others have said, don't beat yourself up if the weight does not come off "perfectly." Weight loss is not linear and does not want to conform to our schedule. When I was 53 I realized that I was about 50 pounds overweight and that if I did not do anything about it, then I would be at risk for…

Not very much really. I've lost weight mainly to avoid chronic illnesses that are extremely common in my family. So far so good. But who knows if bad genetics might pop up and smack me in the face some day anyway. Losing weight does seem to make exercise a little easier, and *that* has improved my mental health a lot. So…

Satiety is a funny thing, as it does vary from person to person what works best. I eat a mostly plant-based diet but I do eat fish and dairy yogurt. Through trial and error, I have found that, for me, I cannot and should not avoid fat all the time. Fat and protein are actually what make me feel full. OTOH I do eat a mostly…

Good job!

I got a BG meter. The thing is the strips are not that cheap, and insurance will not pay for them since I don't have diabetes... so I stopped using it.

Google Fit used to work pretty well with MFP but several months ago it got really glitchy and inconsistent so I stopped using it. Now I use Pacer to track the runs/walks that I want to add to my exercise data. Pacer will sync with MFP, and it is free but 1) I use it only for walking/running and 2) I have to remember to…

Gained 0.2 lbs this past week. :-( Oh well. If that is the worst thing to happen to me in the past month, I have nothing to complain about. Ten-day trending weights from Libra: 11/01: 153.5 11/20: 153.3 11/27: 153.5

Ten-day trending weights from Libra: 11/01: 153.5 11/20: 153.3 Welp. Looks like I'm in maintenance mode. Will try to at least stay the course through Turkey Lurkey Day.

That's quite a transformation. How much time did it take you to get there?

I love this. Whatever works, works.

How do you make protein pancakes?

I never eat chicken, rice, or eggs. Just don't like them. I eat at least 4 pounds of broccoli every week, though, and rolled oats every day.

Watching my father die with Alzheimer's after seeing two of my grands also die with it... and realizing they all had problems with T2D. Half of my close relatives (sibs/parents/grands) are/were diabetics and the T2 diabetics, when they get to a certain age, invariably develop dementia, in my family. It was true of two of…

That's an impressive change!

"Sometimes my binges can be like 6000 calories, sometimes I overeat and I'm at 1800 calories by 10am..." It sounds like this is an ongoing issue. If you are binging on a regular basis, have you spoken to a therapist about this? I don't think any advice you can get from MFP will help that much if you really need…

I had written something that basically agrees with what everyone else has said, so I will spare you the redundancy and delete it. But really, you do you. I'm a little concerned @Tanie98, as far as you worrying that you might have to record your calories behind your boyfriend's back. Feeling like you have to do a completely…

Bingo! There's my nemesis right there. :-(

Congrats to all of you on your PRs... however you measure them. :-)

Well, I made only 76 miles this month. I developed a little bit of extensor tendonitis and had to take some time off. Actually, that was a pretty productive week. I learned 1) how to tell the difference between different types of foot pain, 2) what listening to the body really means as far as taking time off, and 3) how to…
