Thanks for the info. I don’t know if I am going into ketosis or not but what I am doing is working and I’m down 10 pounds and feel great so it works for me.
-
That’s not my concern. I was just curious if during my 16 hour fast I was going into ketosis or not.
-
Hmmmm 🧐. Very interesting

I just don't understand why everyone had to get super opinionated and scientific lol. My original post was a question asking wha method other people use for IF and if it works etc. That somehow turned into everyone wanting to put their two cents in about how the body loses weight.
-
I’ve been doing IF 16:8 for about a month now and it is very easy for me by now. I only do it every 4 days but I am considering slowly bringing it down to 3 days then maybe two then every day. It’s been working on the 4 day separation along with my calorie watching, work steps and exercise so I don’t want to mess with a…

OMG lol are you serious? Intermittent Fasting is a tool that can help a person lose weight. That’s all I am saying.
-
HELPS you lose weight is in every one of my posts. Why are we arguing about this? IF HELPS you lose weight, it’s very simple. My original post was asking what everyone else does for their personal method of IF but I guess everyone is has to prove a point 😁
-
Hence my post saying it HELPS lose weight as part of several things- from my original post- “I have lost 10 pounds with a combination of MFP calorie watching, a 90 day bodyweight fitness program, about 13K steps average a day at work, intermittent fasting and probiotics. I feel great.”
-
Read my original post, I never said IF alone makes you lose weight. I said I do a variety of things to maintain my weight loss, IF being one of them. It is one of several things that help you lose weight.

The benefits of intermittent fasting do not stop there however. While far from exhaustive and while there’s still research being carried out to further understand the metabolic pathways through which fasting helps the body this list of physical, mental and neurological benefits show exactly why intermittent fasting should…

When we are active our metabolism speeds up because we have higher energy needs. The body then begins to use up fuel. Whatever you may eat ultimately combines with oxygen to give three chemical compounds: water, carbon dioxide and adenosine triphosphate (referred to as ATP). Some ATP is stored natively in the muscle and…

Fasting forces your body to burn through your stored carbs then fat then protein, in that order. If you get down to protein you are starving yourself way too much. In essence fasting definitely helps you loose weight because it makes your body dip into stored energy just to function. By not adding any new calories(energy)…

I will surely rest to ensure there is no actual injury. There is no swelling, no visual bruising, I can walk and run and put all my weight on each foot and raise up and down on my toes etc. I think it’s just overworked and aggrivated. I will lay off running and other ankle impactful exercises for a few days. It will give…
-
Thank you. So it’s probably not actually injured just aggrivated?

50 burpee's in one go 7 sets of- 4 wide grip pushups 4 regular pushups 10 shoulder taps 10 climber taps 2 min walking rest between sets

@VioletRojo this?
-
@jelleigh is this what you mean?
-
Do you mean the weekly digest?
-
I have the MFP app set to sync with my iPhone to track steps. All other exercise I log manually
-
How do I see weekly totals without having to add it all up myself?
-
I am super strict and consistent with logging my food. I measure and weight EVERYTHING lol. I think I just need to pay closer attention throughout the day and predict a little more and be more disciplined.
-
I am 36 y/o, 5'10 and currently weight 191. Goal weight is 165-170
-
I am not consciously doing any kid of binge/restrict but I def see what you are saying.
-
I think when I first started I got my self into this mindset of having to eat super healthy and scrutinize my calories and exercise as much as I can, tons of cardio etc. I think that changed my appetite and I am afraid to go back to where I ate terribly and put on all this weigh I want to lose. I need to find a good…

My original question was more from a health standpoint. If I’m eating chicken and veggies and fruits and all healthy food most of the time and then suddenly I inhale half a chocolate cake is that unhealthy? Would that like be a shock to my system?
-
I'm currently 190 with a goal of 165-170.

Try to run on your toes more instead of hard onto the heel. Shoes are the worst thing to ever happen to feet. The human foot, ankle, leg etc are designed to mechanically work efficiently by running on your toes.
-
If the calories you burn over a period of time are more than the calories you intake, regardless of how it is done(eating less vs exercising more), you can lose weight. MFP sets your daily calorie goal for you to lose weight without adding any exercise in.

So I am active duty Navy and while I was on a ship my daily steps just from work would reach over 26K some days. I'd day on average my steps just from work were about 12K-15K per day. I am waiting to start a new position not on a ship and don't know what my daily activity will be like just yet. I guess I will have to give…
