Partly because I want to know what works for me and whether or not things fit into my natural diet and partly for pure academic curiosity. It's only partly about wanting to solve a problem I may or may not have.

Yeah I can totally see why most people are totally happy with increasing it linearly, I guess for me it's partly wanting to understand better and partly because I so have a relatively low sedentary TDEE but am fairly active in a non-working out way so . And I have a history of disordered eating so I'm hesitant to change up…

I guess that's what I mean though? Are these guidelines for X grams of protein (and therefore calories worth of pure protein I guess) intake per day percentages of your TDEE that linearly increase with an increase in calorific need? My instinct and my admittedly limited understanding says that it likely is correlated but…

Thanks that makes sense, I am vegan so I probably should be paying attention to whether my protein sources are complete. My understanding generally was as long as you're not getting the majority from a single source (soy, wheat, beans etc.) it's rarely a major concern but I guess it makes sense to err on safe side and eat…

Thanks, I had a read through their summary and might look at some of the studies later. You're right they seem a lot higher than I've been told before and that USDA calculator (which put me at 37g). The calculator you linked me is putting me at 55g at sedentary and 64-74g active depending on if I want to maintain or gain.…

Hey feel free to add me too!

Hey :)

That's really frustrating you can't change the options. Does it switch if I were to change my goal to gaining weight instead?
-
I found it thanks
-
Can you change that? I don't really want it to celebrate loss over gain I'd kind of like both I'm on computer now and it's just not in any of the settings I have clicked around in circles for what feels like forever and I can't find it
-
My diary is fairly basic as I'm not logging what specific foods are but feel free to add me! Always happy to discuss
-
I think being outside is part of it but I just feel a lot calmer and less anxious when I've moved around and done some exercise for the day
-
I'll take a look thanks!
-
Feel free to add me too! Click on someone's name and then again on the next page and you should have the option to add them

I've worked it out thankyou! Negative foods is still bugged but I worked out how the exercise worked. You have to manually adjust both the minutes and the calories every time I thought the calorie box was locked
-
I've just tried and I can get it to work about half of the time on my phone but it keeps changing the calorie number every time I try to do it. On the computer it just doesn't even appear after I click save?
-
It's like the opposite for me. My phone is updating the totals at the bottom but my computer is just ignoring it
-
I don't want to connect my fitbit account because mfp won't let me share just my steps they want all my information including my friend list etc. I don't mind doing it manually it just doesn't seem to be consistent with how it's working
-
I'm trying to add any extra exercise calories through my fitbit manually as a negative calorie food. Adding it through the exercise tab seems impossible to easily get a specific number of calories as it wants to be smart and calculate minutes etc for me
-
I try not to really have fixed goals but weekdays is around 20-25000 for me with weekends and days off being a lot less. I do feel a lot better when I'm walking more though and I'm looking to incorporate other non walking cardio on other days
-
As long as you're eating enough protein and enough calories I wouldn't worry too much since there isn't much else you can do. A small amount of muscle loss is inevitable anyway. I'd focus more on your strength and how much you are able to lift if you do that? If you really wanted to work it out though you could get one of…

The only way a single day will ruin things for you is if you let it affect your mindset going forward. Everyone has bad days, you're okay!
-
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I'll have a look at those channels. I'm a little worried as I'm on the second floor, I don't want to be jumping around so much and make my neighbours mad but I'll have to see how possible it is
-
Yeah you definitely need to go in stages with it. My advice would be to try to add steps in ways that you're likely to maintain, too. Going for a walk or taking the dogs out sounds great but climbing up and down the stairs for the sake of it is probably something that will lose its novelty? They're great to motivate and…

I'm in a pretty similar situation to you! I'm focusing hard on maintaining my weight and am really trying to be aware of what I eat and not slip into negative mindsets. My weight and progress fluctuates a lot and it's very easy to fall back but I'm in a better place than I have been.
