Mmmmmm Syntha 6 Chocolate is the best tasting shake out there! SOOOOO DELISH!

I felt like Insanity was too much cardio for me. I ended up not liking it for that reason.

Ditto. I work out and since I'm already sweaty I hit up the tanning booth.

I think it's a sh*tty thing to say that someone is weak because they can control their urges and have a cheat day and still lose weight. It doesn't work for you obviously and that's fine. I personally think the person who can have a cheat day and get back on the wagon the next day is the strongest person of all. I have a…

Hmmm......so perhaps there is some truth to the theory. Anyone else????

I can only run to house music so I have a playlist on my touch that is pure house. It keeps me moving and is so upbeat!

In my advanced strength and conditioning class we were talking about spot reducing and how it's impossible to do and my teacher mentioned something about you usually lose weight in reverse of the way that you gained it. So if you got chubby in your Abs - Legs - Hips it will be the reverse of that. I've never heard of that…

Couch to 5K is AWESOME! It totally works and is SO do-able. I have NEVER been a runner and now I can run 20 min straight no sweat. Had to slow down a little during the program because I got plantar fasciitis but I still love to run now!

I have oatmeal sprinkled with walnuts for breakfast. It's filling and gets me to lunch.

Your core is considered a stabilization muscle group which means that it needs to be worked everyday since it's keeping you upright and protecting your back. If this were a perfect world it would be engaged all day long. It needs to be worked as an endurance group so it can withstand the workload. But like the other poster…

Actually, Abs can be worked every day.

Just make sure you rinse them......A LOT. They come with a smell that is....different.

I've been with my SO for 6 years and he knows and has always known how much I weigh. Will I get on the scale in front of him? No.
-
As far as the weight goes you are probably going to gain weight in the first month. Don't get discouraged. A lot of it is water that the muscles are holding on to so they can repair all the damage you are doing when you are lifting. Totally normal. Don't let it get to you!

I'm not sure why everyone thinks that you're body is magically going to respond within one week. You didn't gain the weight in a week so it's going to take longer than a week to get things moving. I wouldn't start to get worried until it's been like 8 weeks and nothing is happening.
-
Not sure. I don't think so though. They're still teaching it at school so.........
-
Wow Allison.....that takes a lot of discipline to to keep at it like that with all you are going through. I'm the opposite...when I'm stressed and going through something like that I stop eating. Keep up the work!

Good job MTGirl!!! That's awesome! My heel is feeling a little better so we'll see what happens this week.

There is a TON of jumping which is why we had to stop. Nick got patellar tendonitis and I got plantar fasciitis. It was a great workout but just not meant for our bodies I suppose. Now he's doing P90x and I'm doing Chalean.

Got back on the horsey and started week three today.

I absolutely agree about the hydrostatic weighing. Yes it's said to be the gold standard and blah blah blah......but has anyone ever had it done?? It SUCKS. It's impossible to blow out all the air they want you to and it's just a pain in the *kitten*.

Turkey is usually done in OZ. not so much per slice. Do you have a scale at home? You can try searching deli turkey meat in the food section and going from there. On a sandwich I usually put 2-3 oz. and it comes out to be like 80 calories I think.

Don't you love it when life throws a monkey wrench into your plans! First Nick's grandpa had a stroke and was in a coma and then yesterday I had to take my dog to the emergency vet cuz he was wheezing up white foam and barfing. UGH!!! Freaking dog.....I'm exhausted today from being so worried! Good thing I have today off.…

Stormy....have you come to our Chalean group yet??
-
Took a week off to let my heel calm down. Gonna try Week 6 Day 2 either today or tomorrow to see how it's feeling. Wish me luck!

It's a common thought that lactic acid causes DOMS but it's not true. "The precise cause is unknown. Delayed onset muscle soreness is commonly thought to be caused by increased lactate concentrations but it has been shown that elevated levels of lactic acid rarely persist after an hour of rest.[1] Although the precise…
