@mamcmurray - I agree with your analogy, with the understanding success at weight loss is more like 99% mental and 1% physical. With clean eating, exercise, sleep, and hydration.... all falling in the 1%. Learning to control our mind is almost everything. Our thoughts, our feelings, our actions, our results all really come…

Read and apply character affirmations... Never Binge Again! It has changed my life. I came across this in an interview on Inspire Nation sometime in April of this year, and honestly the talk was life changing. Glenn’s knowledge and experience with the mind and how to understand it and deal with it, for the first time in my…

It’s 99% Mental and 1% Physical. Willpower ultimately gets its *kitten* kicked by the primal part of your brain every time until you understand it’s role in your life and you learn to control it. Period. I came across this interview and website in my current weight loss journey and it has made all the difference.…

I can always use support and accountability. I likely have a significantly longer path with almost 200lbs to lose, but certainly understand the ins and outs.

Stevia is a crutch!

Macadamia Nuts! Celery & Almond Butter! Brazil Nuts! Add Ghee or MCT oil to your smoothie or hot beverage.

I eat a Garden Salad with Chicken & Paleo Poppyseed Dressing 4-5 times a week. It is so good. I use Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Mayo and 3/4 tsp stevia in the Dressing! The dressing recipe is online. MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides. It’s made from coconut oil. Chia seeds are most everywhere.
-
Green protein smoothie with MCT oil. 4 cups of kale, chard and spinach, 2 scoops of protein powder, 1 tbsp of cacao powder, 1 tbsp of chia seeds, 1 tbsp of MCT oil, 1 cup water, 25 cubes of ice.

Right on! Great choices lead to great results!

I use MFP to plan my day and to track the outcome. Calories are not as important as the quality of my food. Then I stick to my plan to the best of my ability.

Howdy!

I’m not eating 100% clean, but I’m 95% better than before I started. I’m still using stevia.

Might consider joining the 100+ no surgery group.

Willpower is temporary, and will ultimately lose the battle between you and the addictive properties of processed carbohydrates such as sugar. You have to realize that sugar is one of the most addicting substances known to man. Your amygdala or Lizard Brain which is the primal survival, out of pain into pleasure, portion…

Avocados and Eggs are super satiating for me over a long period of time. Calorie for calorie, you have to choose leafy greens. However duration of satiation is also a factor, and good fats seem to win this battle. Add eggs, avocado and MCT oil to a spinach salad and holy satiation combo. Protein and the length of time it…

Sounds good!

Cravings are your amygdala(lizard brain) fighting to survive, trying to keep you out of pain and moving towards pleasure. Sugar is more addictive than cocaine and activates your pleasure center, creating an addicted lizard brain. Willpower is very temporary and cannot standup to the lizards brain’s power. The only thing…

IMHO, with regard to health, it’s really not about counting calories. It’s about the quality of life first, the quality food second and the quantity of food third. Counting calories can help us understand what our bodies actually need but really says nothing about how healthy you are. The same goes for eating wholesome…
