  • Thank you. I guess I should have posted this is the success stories section, sorry.
  • Mine does the same thing and that is how I know to change the battery. I could step on the scale 3 times in a row and get a different number. Change the batteries and everything is good again.
  • I shouldn't have said we threw them out. We have to Goodwill. I mean at least went to a good cause.
  • Thank you, yes I threw them out. We were going through them to get rid of what we didn't need to clear the clutter.
  • Oh yeah took one pic and threw them out. That was the point of going through them. Threw everything that doesn't fit out. I only took one pic of one shirt too.
  • Yeah definitely have to guard against getting hung up on the number on the scale. I have at times gotten extremely annoyed at the immediate number on that day and that is the worst thing you can do. Most of the time, 95% of the time I take it all in stride. Also yes just stick to doing the right thing, to the plan and…
  • My scale to be honest seems to be very accurate and consistent. I know when it needs batteries because it'll give wild swings of weight right in a row or in a short period of time.
  • I only do it because the scale it there and I'm already getting in the shower so I'm without clothes. It's just curiosity, 100% curiosity. Interesting data though. I was at maintenance for about a year. When I started weighing a second time I started my cut of calories again to lose the last 15 or so pounds. It's all in…
  • That is key, gaining will power. You keep at it and anything can happen. I had absolutely zero, absolutely no will power before and now I'm down almost 76 pounds, just 15 more to go but its a whole new world!

  • Thanks man, I will stay with it till I get to where i want to be. You do the same and we'll both be where we want to be!
  • I was dearly afraid to try it so I didn't. 🤣 I did it accidentally. I thought I was still in a deficit but obviously wasn't. Now cutting almost put things into overdrive.
  • Well what I started doing was coming home from work at 3:30 and what I would do is have a very high protein shake. I moved that to after dinner as my snack. Instead of having another snack after dinner, the protein shake is my snack. That ended up cutting 3 or 4 hundred calories. Basically I went into a deficit again as…
  • I'm there OP of this thread and I did intermittent fasting for about 2 months and I liked it but ended it. No reason really, just ended it. I have regular plain Greek yogurt in the morning. High protein and only 90 calories. I may go back at some point but not right now.
  • And exactly 2 pounds up from yesterday, but because of sodium like you said, Thai food is high in sodium.
  • Yeah that "jump" is gonna suck. Got it down to where I like the number the last 5 days but as they say it's just a number.
  • Huh that's funny because ya know what I have done just this in the past. Sometimes I'll enter each ingredient in the dish. Trying to be super accurate right now but I'll be ok for today. Lost 72 pounds, trying like hell for the last 15 now. 😳
  • Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm lucky in a way to have such a physical job, yeah hard work but burns a ton of calories. In the fall from October to December I will take 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day.
  • Thanks guys, appreciate it. I wish there was a device that accurately counted exactly how many calories you burned in a day through all activities.
  • My God what are the calories and macros on that! :|

  • Ok good at least not just mine. I guess it's an issue with the app.
  • Well after a week or so of weighing everything I'm learning things and I'm getting better at it. Some things I underestimated and others underestimated. Very interesting to learn though. It's not as hard or annoying as I thought it would be either.
  • I'm doing both. I'm logging more accurately, way more accurately and eating less. Today at work I really burned a ton of calories. I was all over the place, 12,000 steps and the whole deal. I'm glad I have a physical job. Well, most of the time I'm glad I have a physical job. 🤣
  • I actually weighed everything this morning for my breakfast and lunch for work today. Not too bad actually. Not at easy as just prepare and go but hey what are you ya gonna do. It's funny because what I estimate wasn't that far off, pretty close actually. See how things are going forward. Thanks for all the suggestions. I…
  • I should have said I am male, that is a definite difference. I am sorry for you though. I don't think about food all the time. That would drive me nuts. I hope you can overcome that.
  • Yeah, in the end you guys are right. I know what to do, just have to do it. I was never good at measuring or weighing food. I have a food scale, just rarely use it. I eat grilled chicken strips every day, lean, high protein grilled chicken strips every day and I never weigh that because its so good for you. I just eye ball…
  • I have MFP hooked up to Google health and the numbers come from that. I think I have it on active. Those steps are just a portion of what is burned too. There's a ton of movent the phone doesn't pick up on. It really only picks up the steps I think. I have MFP set up as .5 pounds a week too.
  • Thanks, I get a ton of exercise at work. I have an extremely physical job. 10,000 steps is norm, 12,000 to 15,000 some days. I thought that would be enough to overcome a few calories here or there. I'm glad I stayed the same and didn't gain. Proves I can do that when time comes. Thanks again for the help.
  • Question for yeah, are those scales with the little weight things on them in the doctors office more or less accurate than digital scale that we use?
  • Yeah I'm not sure what I'll do about the scale. I just put batteries in this morning and it seemed like it was back to normal. I'm gonna check it today and going forward just to see if it's still behaving normal. Maybe it's been lying this whole time and I'm really still 273.6 pounds? Ha ha, just kidding. 🤣 Thanks for the…
  • I like Orgain. It's plant based but it's very, very good. It tastes excellent too.
