  • Ps. Do IF too. It might change it up for you. I fast from roughly 7p-12p. Helps with hunger a lot. I surmise in my situation it’s due to blood glucose.
  • I don’t lose over 50 a day. I have to stay under 20 net to lose. You’ll have to test it.
  • Finally made them. Sautéed in ground beef fat with an egg, then added cooked beef, a teensy bit of tomato sauce and some Parmesan cheese. They were ok, but I can’t get over the gelatinous mouth feel. Don’t think I’ll make them again. I’ll see if hubs likes them cause I have another package.
  • Sure, http://www.findingradiance.com/2011/02/24/magic-rolls-eades-low-carb-comfort-foods/ I use a scant 1/4 c flour, and I reworked the data for 9 Rolls not 12 - they still come in around 2 carbs each!
  • Made the Magic Rolls tonight for “braut buns” work great! Two carbs each (brauts have more carbs than the buns!)
  • Canned ham is a great idea.
  • Ew. I just can’t get over the mental image. I saw some with hairs stuck to them once. I wish I liked them!
  • Also, hormones. Sometimes just wait it out.
  • What’s your net carb count daily? For me I have to keep it under 40 to lose, and really under 20 to lose more than a half a pound a month.
  • We had something else instead. I’ll make it soon.
  • I do many days, not every day. If hubby is home late in the morning I’ll often have breakfast with him - usually just an ounce or two of cheese. But most days if it’s just me, I won’t eat anything till 2. And I always try to stop eating at 7.
  • The issue with most of these is they aren’t shelf stable. I can already pack these for lunch. He needs things at work for when I’m not home or he forgets his lunch. I’m gonna make him a “emergency box” of some of the ideas: Canned meats (not tuna) Packets of mayo Cans of nuts Jerky Sunflower seeds And maybe I’ll throw some…
  • Great you have your doc on board! Mine fights me every step of the way. Experiment till you find what works for you. Under 40 carbs or I won’t lose weight. I tried 100 carbs for six months and didn’t lose a pound. But under 20 carbs and all my cravings are gone and I’m hardly ever hungry! I fast most of the day. So, 20 net…
  • Yeah, the Quest chips are gross. And expensive.
  • Lately it’s been around 9! I think I’m keto adapted. About 40 days in.
  • No, he’s not losing inches. Thanks for the tips tho. Keeping some shelf stable foods at work might be a good strategy.
  • I see you’ve been losing lately, @AbbieOffman - what was the key?
  • Making this tonight. I’ll post my review! ;)
  • Very interesting! I hope this diet helps. I have severe joint pain, frozen shoulder three years now, hip pain, new tennis elbow, rheumatoid arthritis. It would be so great if sone of this pain could go away due to my diet!
  • I’m gonna piggyback my reflections on your post, since I’m about a month in too, and have had several noticeable changes: 1. Lost about 15 pounds 2. Never hungry, this really amazed me. Even on 50 carbs I was always hungry. 20 is my magic number 3. Related - rarely get over 1000 calories in - maybe theee days all month. 4.…
  • If it were me I would try three things: 1. Work out an hour before bed, hard. 2. Take chamomile tea, have the tv off an hour before bed, turn off electric lights at night (use candles), take a hot shower - all the little tricks for getting yourself ready for bed. 3. Try a melatonin supplement, or take Benadryl.
  • Try taking melatonin?
  • Saving these, I’m game. I bet pepper jack would work better. Hubby likes some heat with his snacks.
  • Amazon.
  • BTW, flax crackers are super easy to make. Not a chip, but in case you want to try. Just mix 2 c flax meal to 1 c water (it will have play dough consistency). Season it up really highly with whatever flavors you feel like. I like garlic and rosemary. You’ll need more seasoning than you think. Then roll really flat (I press…
  • I’ve done Whisps but the processed taste and the high cost - crazy high! - gets old fast. I usually just eat a handful of sunflower seeds in the shell. They satisfy the crunch/mouth feel and take a long time to eat. They are messy. But they are salty and cheap.
  • That was fascinating! Thanks! Good thing I’m not still having babies - I’d get pregnant for sure, lol. Mom of five (last two on two types of birth control, never missed!)
  • Sounds right! Just further confirmation I need to stay at 20 net carbs even tho my primary is against it. She insists it causes stress on my body and constantly pushes me to eat a minimum of 100 carbs a day if I “must do low carb” full of “healthy grains”. I respect my doctor (even tho I think she’s wrong on this aspect)…
  • I ran them by my endocrinologist (I don’t have a thyroid). He said they were excellent choices.
  • Finally typed this up for my doc. All but the magnesium (doc ordered) are new. Something in there seems to be helping my joint pain. Supplements started May 7th: Chromium Picolinate 800mcg Vitamins D3&K2 1000iu/45mcg Selenium 200mcg Magnesium 500mg Turmeric Curcumin 750mg Vitamin C 1000mg Fish Oil 1200mg Vitamin B-12…
