  • That I'm losing weight for myself, and that it's ok for anyone else not to notice changes. That it's ok to have "bad" days. That I no longer feel a strong need to binge on chocolate, now that I know that I CAN eat it, if I really want to. That I don't have to eat everything that I submitted in the daily diary, because…
  • check, check, check :D
  • Wow, this is a very toxic environment to be in and I'm sorry that you got into it in the first place. Your patience with such an *kitten*hole is incredible. I'm personally more of a "one strike and you're out" type of person, be it a family member, friend or whoever else dares to comment on my physique in such a derogatory…
  • I'm 21 days into MFP calorie counting, and for the last week my digestion has slowed down, even though I avoid processed food as much as possible, and I exercise regularly. I think it's just a passing phase, that my body needs to adjust to the new regime. So far that's the only downside of losing weight.
  • I love my elliptical! We tried to sell it a number of times but we always decided to keep it. I'm glad it did, it really helps me, especially now that I'm watching my caloric intake. And I sleep like a baby after the workout.
  • I can see the difference! And I'm sure you can feel that your body is reacting in a different way with 5lbs less. Keep going.
  • Petty reason: because everyone knows me my whole life as being fat. Not-so-petty reason: if I ever meet someone who will fall in love with me as much as I fall in love with them, (at 34yo soon it seems highly unlikely) and we end up having children, I want to be able to follow their active lifestyle, as opposed to saying…
  • My grandma said on few occasions throughout my life: Yeah, you don't have to lose the weight because you'll never be skinny. You're big-boned like me. My reasoning is that she is very old and was growing up in different times so she doesn't know any better. Then I managed to shed some weight, she got very concerned that my…
  • This may be a "well, duh!" for most, but nobody told me that even when I'm on a restricted calorie diet, I don't feel hungry. My body adjusts to eating less, but still eating whatever I want, if I'm within limits. Sometimes I feel so full that I wonder how was I even able to eat so much! Portion control is the best thing…
  • I went down 4lbs since starting 16 days ago, and my goal is 15lbs more to my desired weight. Since I love sewing, when I get to 10lbs lost overall, I'll go to the fabric store and treat myself to beautiful new fabric. An added benefit is that I can buy the same amount I bought before, but I'll have more to spare as my body…
  • Amazing!!! Well done!
  • This is the same dress, but I feel like my body was huge. I can't remember how much I weighed back then, but I think I must have been about 75 kilograms, when the shape of my waist didn't even show. Now I'm 65.7, and I think it shows. I still have about 17lbs to get to my desired weight. The progress pic was taken this…
  • The amount of food he eats and his self-sabotage has nothing to do with you. He isn't forcing you to pile up food on your plate, nobody is. Find a way to get rid of all the excuses that you say you make, think about why you're making them in the first place, maybe talk to a professional for additional support, and then…
  • The both of you are doing amazing, I can definitely see your progress and it's motivating me to continue counting calories and start with some weight lifting.
  • We all have these days. I didn't eat sugar for 30 days straight, and today my blood sugar was so low that I needed to get a banana and chocolate Corny, which, amazingly, fit very nice within my calorie range. Keep running and take a cold shower later. It'll cool you off from attacking the fridge ;)
  • I'm on a 28/90 day no sugar challenge, and what keeps me going is seeing how better my clothes fit me. It becomes easier to say no to people who offer sweets, and sweets in general. Another thing that helps me when I have the craving is asking myself: is my will power really that weak that I can't turn away from the…
  • You have a massive amount of support here! Making any kind of contract with yourself to keep you accountable is a good way to go.
  • Thank you all for your replies! Some clarifications why I want to force myself to incorporate more salad-y stuff, such as cucumbers and tomatoes and stuff: Because I'm sick and tired of daily family meals, because I still don't have financial background to move out, which go like this: Are you eating salad? No? Why not?…
  • 1. That you'll start being interested in/more inclined to eat food that you would never, under any circumstances, eat. I'm flirting with the idea of a fresh cucumber and tomato omelette. Still didn't get to that point, but oh god, does it sound like a delicious breakfast. 2. That you'll freeze your *kitten* off one minute,…
  • I'd say something along the lines that I'm experimenting with healthier food to see if I'll feel less stressed at work. Weightloss is just a side-effect of that.
  • I did similar when I said 'no' to sugar back in April 28th, after feeling very bad about my body. I still eat fruit, and my cravings for chocolate and processed sugars are diminishing. I didn't think too much. I just went cold turkey. My challenge is 90 days, so that's end of July.
