You don't have to stop whining to be able to do it. Lots of people whine and moan and yet still, every day, get it done. The point isn't how you FEEL about it, it's about what you're doing about it. I always find this to be super useful.…

Lil Ceaser Salad. Haters betta watch themselves, they gonna get tossed.

I just realized MFP still lets you posts gifs. My favorite sarcastic woo is now this.

My one and only dream car at this point in my life:

I keep trying to explain to a friend of mine that if she hates the idea of jumping jacks and crunches, there are other exercises she can try. I think she thinks exercise for adults is like being stuck in a middle school gym with a grumpy PE teacher and the wafting smell of 20 kids hitting puberty. Maybe I should point her…

That's about as far as I go with cooking, too. My ability to cook can be summed up by the great Paris Hilton:

Someone on these boards once said "This is not WW2 and you are not a munitions train. No one is trying to sabotage you." I really liked that. Pares down the paranoia while reminding me that no matter what other people eat, it's my choice to decide what goes in my body.

I, for one, welcome our genetically-engineered overlords.

BOO! *jumps out from a corner and tries to scare you* Maybe I'm a weirdo, but the OP made a lot of sense for me. I have a bit of a checkered past and the fear of going back there - of treating people the way I did, ending up in the places I did, and the things I thought about myself that I did.....scares the ever-loving…

The day a food or food combination can repair neural receptors and regulate serotonin/dopamine levels will be a joyous day indeed. That day is not today.

Lupus nephritis. Diagnosed in 2016 very quickly, as my kidneys failed and I wound up in the hospital. I hadn't had health insurance in 20 years and so I hadn't seen a doctor in 20 years. It was very sudden and surprising, even as I'd been particularly ill for a few months by that time. (But again, no health insurance, so I…

Weight loss is not linear. It is not a test. You will not be graded. That always helped me be more patient.

Everything about your posts in this thread screams eating disorder. Eating very little, feeling as if you've gained significant weight in a single day, setting your weight goal so low. Feeling huge and ugly at what is probably a very healthy weight. (123 pounds.) And Rose Pink is very big in the pro ana/mia community for…

I have lupus nephritis and stage 3 kidney disease. After 3 years, I finally got some good news last week. My hemoglobin levels are up to a 9.7. My creatine levels are at a 1, which is right in the range of a healthy persons. And my phosphate levels are almost normal. I was elated. A friend of mine said "Now that the meds…

Since you're unable to see a doctor, things like getting your labwork done (which would be my first suggestion) probably won't work for you. As far as things you can do - Make a sincere effort at logging your food. Don't worry about breaking it up into breakfast/lunch/dinner if that helps. Just log it wherever in the…

Try to remember that shame is not a great motivator. It usually propels us in the opposite direction of healthy eating and healthy activities. Cruelty is a not a cheerleader - and that includes you being cruel to yourself.

Conversion math frightens and befuddles me, but I'm intrigued by this challenge nonetheless. Day 3 under calorie goal. (2 days at 1450, then dropped it to 1350, but have been under on both.)

It's absolutely an extension of Atwood's work and very much about male domination over women (both personal and systematic, of men and women in the ruling/subjugated class). Your thoughts on the show are correct.

Try keeping track of your measurements in inches using a measuring tape. (Arms, waist, neck, hips, etc) A lot of times you'll find the scale number refuses to budge while the inches are melting off. It's a nice way to keep your spirits up while you're waiting for the scale to do its thing.

I strongly agree with all of the above commenters. That looks like more than regular period water-weight. A few years ago I gained a ton of edema - and it started in my ankles, legs, and face. I found out shortly after that I was suffering from kidney failure. Your case might not be near as severe, but it may point to…

It's hard to convince people that you can't out-exercise a bad diet. One of my favorite ways to respond when people start talking to me about weight loss (if it's ridiculous advice or advice I can't use) is to go "Huh. Interesting." and then change the subject/ leave the conversation/etc. I use this tactic for a lot of…

I don't really have any advice, but don't blame yourself for not wanting to be confrontational. THEY are the jerks for trespassing boundaries, not you. You are not doing anything but existing, they are the ones being creepy about it. And it's normal to be uncomfortable when someone crosses boundaries, or when they make you…

It was extremely excessive. Luckily, I was already in the hospital when the worst of it happened. (The first 20 pounds had come in a few days earlier, but I didn't know anything about edema and didn't think it was a problem until I went to the ER.) The kidneys....eeeehhh, they're there? Stage 3 kidney disease. I'll be on…

BMI calculation. It will put me in the normal weight category. I may adjust my goal weight when I get there, but I have to get there first.

What often comes off first - the first 5 or 10 pounds - is water weight. Losing pounds usually takes a little more time. It's normal, don't worry too much about it. Just keep on and you'll see more concrete results.
