By example? I mean...most of the time they know when they need to lose. You don't need to point it out. Lead a healthy lifestyle and beyond that it's not up to us.

I'm down just about 7 lb since the beginning of July. Started actually around 155 lb and now down to 147.

I am returning to running after a long break and will be doing my PT exercises to strengthen my hips again.

I am also contemplating the Portland Marathon. Supposed to have plenty of time to complete and I LOVE Portland.

All. Red. Flags. You can build muscle and tone without dropping tons of weight. At eighteen I was heavier than I was at 14. It is normal. You are still growing/gaining height probably until early-mid 20's. All I am advising is a heavy dose of caution.

Mmm...or sharp cheddar.

I love nigiri and I also love just the sashimi (just the fish-no rice). Super good for you (the fish part). Some rolls aren't that bad either. Rock and roll (unagi/eel, avocado and cucumber), california roll (crab, cucumber and avocado), spicy tuna roll and the list goes on-none of those have the "yum" sauce (BS American…

No not at all. It also helps keep us regular because of the fiber content. PLUS it's Summer-so all the best fruit is available now (sweet cherries, peaches, blackberries, plums)

Oh god I know what you mean by that last part. The Annapolis half is the same way. At mile 7 you go over this huge bridge...then back over it at mile 10. Brutal.

Tofu, Tempeh...avocado But yes-I agree with some previous people here...it will be very restrictive and likely boring due to lack of variety and how many foods you have to cut out. Why go this extreme?

skinnytaste.com has a lot of keto friendly and low carb meal ideas.

But it's so effing good!!! Another reason it's problematic-it makes your mouth sore after a while since it's so crunchy. OOOHHH "Cracklin' Oat Bran". Looks like dog food, tastes like little bites of heaven.

Age? Striving to be as thin as you were then is not necessarily realistic.

Registered dietitian here who votes...make an appointment with a registered dietitian. They will follow your labs, your weight, etc and make recommendations for common micronutrients that are problematic with renal failure (ex: potassium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus and chloride). Are you currently on or will you be on…

Which gluten free breads, pastas, etc have you tried? Just curious. Zoodles, spaghetti squash, shirataki noodles, spiralized sweet potato, lentil pasta. PS: Try black bean brownies-DELICIOUS (gluten and dairy free)

Cereal. I love LOVE Captain Crunch and so many others but...I have type 1 diabetes and even with dosing insulin well in advance, I STILL get massive blood sugar spikes. :(

I love yoga (in case you can't tell). For me it works well because it is all about listening to and nurturing your body, mind and soul. Because it's somewhat ritualistic (even just a few sun salutations in the morning), it's easy to make it a habit. I incorporate journaling or reading a book...a mantra for the…

I'm STILL picking at "IT"...such a long effing book...but SO good!

Haha-I most definitely fit the hippie yoga chick description. I don't think the two have to be mutually exclusive either though. But there are some more conservative folks who are a TOUCH closed minded when it comes to "the universe" and "the divine" or understanding a broader meaning of those words.

Hey, you fall down the stairs and land like that, you might be a ninja.

Doll up your hair and makeup, wear the perfume you know he likes...wear a big smile and give him a massive hug and kiss when you see him. My husband gained a significant amount of weight between when he left for his new job and when I got to visit him the first time (long distance relationship). I was just so happy to see…
