  • @conniewilkins56 Congratulations! Wonderful progress!!!
  • I love biking too. But @amart4224 is right about the weight limit. When I started this journey, I was over 400 pounds. One of my goals was to get down to a weight where I didn't need to buy a special bike that would support a heavier person. It was walking/hiking or a heavy-duty exercise bike for me for a long time. Well,…
  • @uyister Congrats on the 100 pounds! What a great milestone to achieve! And I agree, very cute dress. You look great!
  • @JNettie73 Thank you! Some days have been easy and some days have been really, really hard. Two years is a long time and I still have 9 to 24 more pounds to lose. I don't know what my goal weight should be so hopefully I will know it when I see it. I still have to lose about 4 pounds to get to the "normal" bmi range. I'm…
  • @uyister So glad to hear you are okay. The progress you continue to make in the face of extraordinary challenges is truly inspirational! I am in awe! Safe travels home.
  • Good morning everyone! Just wanted to post an update here to try and regain some semblance of "normal". I haven't posted here since April 1st but I have been trying to read all your posts when I have time. As some of you know, I was spending a bit of time helping out my parents. My dad hasn't been doing the best since…
  • @lauriekallis I'm really glad you did, too! I was wondering who to ask about it when I saw your post. :)
  • @lauriekallis I just saw the discussion about the Shewee in the daily habit check-in thread. If you get one, please let me know how you like it. I just did a 3 day "test" backpacking trip with my son. I thought about getting something like that but didn't. However, I realized that this time of year the trees aren't leafed…

  • Happy birthday to all you March birthday ladies! Seems to be quite a few in this group. @girlinkaz That German chocolate cake sounds delicious. When I was young, my mom would make that for my birthday every year. Yummy! @speyerj and @changeforeverlj Thanks so much for the kind thoughts. My mom wasn't feeling well yesterday…

  • @bmeadows380 I'm a little behind on reading here and just saw your post. Congratulations on setting the date! So wonderful to hear. It sounds like the 2 of you have everything well in hand...and will be very busy for the next month or so. Best wishes to you!
  • @changeforeverlj Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! You've accomplished so much in the past year to achieve a healthier life. Good luck as you start your 2nd year!
  • @conniewilkins56 Wonderful NSV! So exciting!
  • @uyister Congrats on your fantastic weight loss as well as your 9 month anniversary! Well done! And 85 days of meeting your step goal is great! Your consistency is showing in your results. Nice job!

  • @lauriekallis If you care to, please let us know how your deficit break goes. I'm still debating about doing one or not. I'm curious to hear about your experience. Good luck with it!
  • @KeriA Happy birthday!!! Hope you had a wonderful day! For chair yoga, I started with a book called Sit n Fit Chair Yoga. It's very basic and actually a very thin book. I know some of the reviews of the book criticized it for being so short. I bought it anyway since it still sounded like a good place to start and for me,…
  • @bmeadows380 Wonderful news! Congratulations! Be sure to let us know when fiancee hears from his employer. Hoping you get the news you both want! And good luck with your cleaning/organizing projects!
  • @BethCW2963 Yes, my ride was fun and the hills made it a bit more challenging. When I first started my weight loss this time, I made a list of things I wanted to do once I lost weight. Riding a bike was one of those items. It was a big thrill last year when I finally felt I had lost enough weight to try and get on a bike…
  • Well, I lied. It actually hit the low 50s here today. With a very light wind, it was a good day for a bike ride. I did between 9 and 10 miles of some hilly paved trails. I need to work on doing hills! :) I ended up with a wet back because of puddles from the melting snow (apparently my rear fender doesn't help…

  • I was morbidly obese when I wanted to try yoga. I also have nerve damage in my knees so it makes getting down on the floor painful. Someone on MFP recommended chair yoga. There are many videos for it on youtube as well as books you could check out. I tried chair yoga when morbidly obese and really enjoyed it and continue…
  • @BeastlyMaple Looking forward to hearing more from you! I'm excited for continuing on as well, especially since March means spring is getting nearer!
  • Happy March! Spring (or Autumn) will soon be here...at least on the calendar! Highest weight: 435 (11/1/18)--lost 50 lbs. by the end of 2018 but got off track and gained back almost 31 lbs. • @speyerj Yeah, I've pretty much come to the realization that nothing will change when I reach my goal weight, whatever that might be. That's a good point about scale fluctuations. I hadn't thought much about that. I'll have to keep that in mind so I can mentally prepare for that. Thank you for your insight!
  • @conniewilkins56 True. Everyone is different and has different strengths and challenges and different genes. It would be nice if there was a one size fits all answer but that's not reality. Still, it's good to hear others' experiences because maybe you can learn something that you can apply to your own journey. It usually…
  • @lauriekallis I'm getting impatient as well but when I think about it, I don't really know why. I don't see anything really changing once I hit that mythical goal weight. I'll just get a few more calories each day. That's it. Nothing else will change...except maybe I can stop buying smaller clothes and have a more stable…
  • @speyerj Thanks for your response. I don't really feel like I need a break, at least from a psychological or emotional level, since I'm eating the way I think I'll be eating during maintenance, just with a slightly lower calorie level, and I'm not finding it a burden. Physically, I feel fine except for the hunger I've been…
