In 2016 I was 55yo and weighed 315lbs. Thanks to MFP; in a year I dropped to 200lbs. To get under 20% Body Fat; I continued to drop weight (but slower) and by 2022 (with MFP and Exercise) I was at 160lbs. I now use MFP for Maintenance and monitoring Macros.

2235 days of MFP log in plus I about a year of using the Atkins Calorie Counter. Results: July 2016 I was 55yo and weighed 315lbs today 165lbs.

I had a like incident over on Atkins Calorie Counter about 6 years ago...was told it would be repaired with in two days....Three Weeks later I switched the MFP. I hate to give up 2000+ days of data but a stable fix is all that will keep me from looking elsewhere.

10 November 2023 will the 248th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. On that day for the first time in Thirty Eight (38!) years I will wear my Winter Alfa Uniform trousers. I tried them on today and they fit like they were tailored for me; which they were 40 years ago. The Winter wool Trousers and a Long Sleeve…

Macro and Calorie counting are VERY valuable tools. Using these tools I have lost weight, Maintained a healthy weight, improved my BMI score and gained Muscle Mass. I am a 61yo male at 55 I weighed 315lbs, with MyFitnessPal I reduced my weight to 160lbs and have a DexaScan BMI of 15.4 I do still rely on MFP for daily…

Great start. Make this a life style Not A Diet. Cutting those calories down works every time and MFP will help keep you honest with yourself. As for exercise; I did not even a regular walking habit till I was under 275 or 250. One added note....cutting food intake can of course cut needed vitamin intake. A good Multi…

Since you are working out 3 times a week I suggest adding a Protein Shake for any day you are short on your calorie goal.

Walking 10,000 steps (5 miles +/-) per day.

In 2016 I was 55 and weighed 316....today I am 60 and weigh 158 (half). Has it been easy...no. But no Med's, No Surgery. With consistent MFP calorie/Macro monitoring and walking (avg 10,000 steps per day) .... so there is your Motivation if I can do it any one can.
-
Drop daily Calorie goal by 100 and stick to it to get past the plateau (adding steps to your daily walk can help too). But the main thing is consistency.

In 2016 (July) at 55yo I weighed 315lbs. As of last Saturday I am now 3lbs away from weighing exactly Half of my starting weight.

At 55 I stepped on the scale and saw 315lbs. Health wise I felt fine but blood work found signs of "Fatty Liver. Of course I had "dieted" before and had lost 80lbs on Atkins only to gain it back (and more). But Atkins had worked so I started again and found that Atkins had an App. That is how I started the Atkins app shut…

I am a 59yo Marine Vet. and retired LEO. Five years ago due to being a lazy "desk jocky" I had hit 315lbs. Thanks to MFP I am now at 180, and have been as low as 165. Walking, and now running some, as well as Weight training. Due to MFP I am in the best shape I have been in since I left the Corps. So keep at it man…

From 315lbs to 185lbs was all Calorie Restriction with MFP. At about 250lbs I added walking, Bodyweight Squats, and Push ups. I held at 185lbs the year and a half I did hit the gym. This Past year with the shut downs and restrictions it was back to home work outs and walking and I dropped another 20lbs and even started…

Three goals for this year: 1. Keep Weight under 170 (I hit 164 in 2020 down from 315 in 2016) while getting back on a weight training program. 2. Bodyfat down to under 15% by November (current at 18%). 3. Three Mile Run in under 30min by November.

On MFP 1181 total for daily logs (I started with the Adkins app) 1575.

While losing weight (315lbs -185lbs) I walked 3 to 5miles a day (sometimes more but 5 was an average). dropping from 200 to 185lbs I cut my calories back to much and lost some muscle; a year of weight training got it right back.
