Great job, I am sure it wasn't easy. You did it!

@martianspuds It's amazing how we are so often our own worst critic and enemy, isn't it? I'm so glad your coworkers noticed how good you're looking these days. I just came home from a NSV of my own, very pleased with myself. Out to dinner with friends, only one glass of wine, fish as main, and no dessert! Usually dinners…

I just came home from a NSV of my own, very pleased with myself. Out to dinner with friends, only one glass of wine, fish as main, and no dessert! Usually dinners out are my Waterloo. Also, last week I had three days of "off the wagon" style eating and gained 3/4 of a pound, but now I seem to be back on track.…

CONGRATS!!

@PAPYRUS3 From the top pic, I thought it was a pile of freshly shaved cheese, like Parmesan. But it's...dried fungus? I is disappoint.
-
Looks like a family member I haven't seen in three years!

Considering your health history, I truly think and strongly urge you to talk to your doctor about this one. Please.

I don't think I have a mantra, but if I did, it would be something like: "Whether you eat the lettuce-wrapped burger or the one with the bun, and order a side salad or a side of fries, and drink water or a beer, in four-five hours you'll be brushing your teeth and going to bed, and not taste either anymore. But you'll…

You'll always lose more weight faster at the beginning of any plan; some of that is water weight, which is why it slows down. But slow and steady wins the race, right? I "do" 16:8, and a couple times a week, 18:6. The first week I lost almost two pounds and I was so psyched, like, at this rate I'll be at my goal weight…

Oh man, story of my life! The same 20-22 pounds, up and down, up and down. And now that I'm in the 50's, it's getting easier to gain and harder to lose (yay menopause). I'd love to *really* have a lifestyle change but I just love Italian food/Greek food/other savory too much, and too much of them, too. I think I'm a carb…

I'm relatively new to MFP but "welcome back" from me.

Hard-boiled eggs are my go to. A mustard packet from a take-out place gives them a little extra kick too.

I need this, @Slider678 -- thank you for this thread! If you look at my diary, which to my shame I am keeping open, you'll see that last night I went off the rails again (drank too much, so naturally ate too much too, at a really fun wedding). I need to learn how to live a moderate lifestyle instead of all or nothing. Will…

When it's cool outside, I just love tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Tastes like my childhood.

Aw. I'm sorry life isn't an easy road for you right now. It's pretty impressive that you've mostly been keeping to your low calorie diet plan, though -- congrats! Without knowing details, I'd like to suggest slow walks in nature, if it's easily accessible to you. Research has shown that it is a fantastic way to elevate our…

Okay so...tonight, I'm going to try either shots of bourbon, or vodka and club soda. Since the latter comes with water built in, perhaps it's also a better choice for hangover avoidance. Thank you, MFPers!

If you're off by 10 calories or so, is it really so important? I mean, think about when you measure, say, salad dressing. You note how many calories of course, but then there's some smeared at the bottom of your salad plate that you don't eat. So being off by around 25 calories in a meal isn't a big deal IMO. It all…

I would love to be your mfp friend, you have such a great approach. I do beat myself up after days that I spin out of control and eat 4 thousand calories though...
-
That's a great step, @billygunn111 -- if it's too hard to walk much on it, is there a pool you can have access to? Pool walking sounds tedious but it's helped lots of people who have difficulty standing/moving for more than 15 minutes at a time, get to the point where they can hop on a treadmill like nobody's business. :)

You look AMAZING! I am 5'3" also, and weigh around 9 pounds less than you, but you look 1000x better than me. For real. Being fit/muscle weight really makes a big difference.
-
@AmethystEFC how terrific!! Mine is, tonight we had a couple people over for dinner, and I only had the ceviche! No sangria, no chips and guacamole. Drinking and carbs always make me... “relax my standards,” and can turn into a three thousand calorie dinner without effort. I am just under my daily calories today, and I…

Congratulations - it's a milestone! No pun intended, if that is one.

To follow up, do tomatoes have a sugar count I don't know about?
-
Does a tomato really "count" as a fruit, though, in terms of macros and nutrition?
-
I tried them once but with an Italian sauce and thought they were revolting -- as if I fell for a prank the whole low-carber world was in on except me. Maybe they work better with Asian cuisine.

I'm around a decade younger than you, but I "feel" this comment (as my teenager would say). I've been yo-yo dieting the same 20-odd pounds since I was in high school -- it's not a great way to live and I wish I just, you know, ate food rather than having a relationship with it, if that makes sense. Yesterday was a sucky…
-
Not even close, lol. 5-6 days of half an hour on the treadmill makes me not the least active person I know, at least!
-
I ate close to 4,000 calories yesterday and right now I weigh a pound and a half more than I did last week. I"m so mad at myself, it takes so long to lose and so short to gain!
-
I wish I was bored of food, haha!

Hey! You can do it this time! Baby steps. Do you like walking? Do you like fantasy or just scifi? Because if you like Lord of the Rings, there is an app I'm using that is verrrrrry low tech (it doesn't sync to your phone or have graphics or any whizbang bells and whistles) called Walk to Mordor. Eacy day you input how much…
