  • Spinach and hard boiled egg with homemade warm bacon dressing (Alton brown) for lunch. Chicken on Chinese fried cauliflower rice for dinner.
  • How have I never heard of these!! I made bean sprout “noodle” lo mein last night, but I bet it woulda been better with shirataki noodles! Gonna find and try!!
  • I have lost significant weight before. When I did, my “best friend” was so jealous. She constantly told me she wished I would put the weight back on, because, “Then we could lose weight together!” Well, I did put the weight back on as I encountered some major health issues. Guess who wasn’t interested in teaming up with me…
  • Spinach with hard boiled eggs and warm bacon dressing. Swapped in lakanto monk fruit erythritol for the sugar. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/spinach-salad-with-warm-bacon-dressing-recipe-1947599
  • or to cauliflower or cheese crust pizza and pork rind nachos... :naughty:
  • @BrownSugar174 congrats! I love your pics. Action shots and joy. What a great combo.
  • Oh another one. You’ve gotten hella creative in the kitchen and your family has never eaten better! Just this month: Cloud bun burgers Eggplant lasagna Chinese chicken and broccoli with traditional brown sauce (home made low carb oyster sauce!!) Prime rib with cauliflower mash Steak and roasted artichokes Keto brownie &…
  • You’re eating dinner out and you get suspicious of sugar in your meal because of how sweet it is then you realize it’s a carrot  😂
  • Hi @kajuae74 and welcome! Feel free to add me. My diary is open to friends
  • Had a stressful week. Got some low carb no sugar no flour treats and let myself have a couple of days that were not as healthful as my usual. I feel good that I was able to find some ways to “treat” myself, allow myself to indulge a bit, but still stay within calorie goals, mind my macros, and not go off the rails…
  • Totally awesome, but I respectfully disagree. Not petty at all. Inspiring!
  • Made it through the party without alcohol! Next I have a work travel thing I’ve gotta power through with group dinners. It’ll be tempting to drink but I’m gonna do Mocktails instead.
  • Of course do what’s right for you, but there are interesting studies about snacking and digestion health and gut bacteria. Good overview here: https://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/eat-run/2014/01/28/how-grazing-affects-your-digestive-function

  • @cgcrutch I should also mention I lost the first 58 lbs without working out at all. Just diet modifications. I’m not saying don’t exercise, but maybe focus on diet more for a while?
  • Do you like to dance? I put my music on and just jam out when I don’t feel like “working out”. Can get a ton of steps in that way.
  • @dawnz75 great idea! Like a BALT almost! Who needs tomatoes
  • @Safari_Gal_ yassss welcome!! That sounds like it was really fun though!! @shelbydodgeguy haha good point. I mean, honestly, that’s enough of a reason right there. First big test comes for me on Friday. Birthday party. Then on the 25th I’m going to a concert at a bar. Lord, give me strength!!
  • Cheese crust for pizza anyone? Keep seeing it on Instagram. Might have egg in it too...
  • Hahahahaha this made me crack up. Ok I’m gonna do it too. Bone broth that I haven’t cheesecloth strained yet is in the Dutch oven.
  • I’m more likely to have a cheat meal when I’m sick. Usually I listen to my body. I don’t restrict calories as much when I’m sick. If I’m hungry, I eat. But I still try to steer clear of carbs except maybe one cheat meal per weak if I really want it. I drink a lot of bouillon and tea too.
  • That’s tough, and I’m definitely with you on this, but maybe it’s just a matter of shifting perspective and building a habit. Maybe you’re not doing exercise you like? So try some experimenting with different things. Or maybe you could combine watching a favorite show on your phone while you cycle or elliptical? Kinda make…
  • Yes!! Great job! Do you mind sharing some benefits you’ve realized from this? I need inspiration!!
  • Yeah! I’d say it’s working like fiber. I’m no doctor, but if they don’t make you sick or any other symptoms, seems fine to me!
  • Had to share this update: lifted weights last night for the first time in about 2 years!! We’ll see how I feel over the next few days, but I just took it easy and didn’t push too hard. It was such a great feeling to get in there and do it!
  • I’m with you! As long as I don’t lose points for those 2am drinks on NYE. Haven’t touched alcohol since.
  • I find when I stall out I up my water intake, and I am also a fan of 16:8 TRE protocol. Works for me!
  • Pork cracklins, almonds, cheese sticks, salami, keto cookies (lots of easy recipes out there)
  • Great advice here. I like the idea of incorporating some anti-inflammation foods to help. I’ll have to check that out. Cherries were my go-to before, but the carbs are high. I need to check out other options. I too supplement with D3. Also B-12. I like that advice on the exercise. I’m a big fan of dancing in the pool. I…
  • Congrats on your success, both in the pain dept and the scale! My food cravings and fullness meter have definitely adjusted, and I too no longer have food comas. It’s so nice!
  • I’m sorry to hear about your struggles. I hope you find something that works for you because chronic pain is incredibly depressing. An update: I’ve still been struggling with a lot of pain, and about a month ago my acupuncturist recommended I cut protein powder from my diet. I was eating a vega one smoothie every morning.…
