My new meatloaf recipe is a powerhouse. I use ground up pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs, and I add shredded mozzarella cheese and spinach and 2 eggs to really bulk the protein, flavor, and nutrients. Season to taste! Oh and I always use grass fed and pasture raised. They really are more filling and tastier, and I feel so…

124 lbs down (316 to 191). 58 lbs lost in the first 4 months of the program. 40 lbs down in the next 6 months. Lost 10 lbs a year since. Track foods. Cut out sugar and bread/pasta, reduced alcohol to one or two low sugar drinks per week, close the kitchen at 6pm. No exercise. Recently started walking. Broke plateaus by…

I get a morning walk in every day, as early as I can manage. I try to go 20 min before dawn so I can soak up the early morning light without sunglasses. Huge boost to mood, productivity, and activity/steps. If I save it for later in the day, sometimes it just doesn’t get done. But going first thing helps me feel a sense of…

I ask for a splash of some kind of juice in a club soda. I might do a splash of cranberry, lime, grenadine, orange, or pineapple. In a pinch, just a lime wedge and a cherry can spruce up a club soda. Make sure you tell the bar tender you really just want a tiny splash or you could end up with more sugar than you bargained…

Red lentils make a great lower carb high protein option for a side dish. I also like mung beans, and farro is a good higher fiber option too .

In group pictures, I want to stand out because I look stylish, or happy, or fun, not because I’m the heaviest person in the picture.

Sending you a big hug! I’m sorry you feel this way. That said, I just want you to remember, the most beautiful accessory/makeup/outfit you can wear is happiness and confidence. Maybe you *feel* this way, but with more self-love, you could overcome it.

That looks sooooooo good

Logging. Logging everything. Logging everything every day! Even when I “cheat”. Data helps me stay on track. If I commit to logging no matter what, I do well over time.

Hi!

That was exactly how I figured out I had a garlic allergy. I would get really sluggish and tired after I ate. Maybe consider an elimination diet to work through what might be causing issues.

Totally normal. One thing I did as I was working toward being fat adapted was I did not restrict my calories at first. I just worked on eating low carb. This helped me to adjust slowly. I didn’t have to fight carb cravings AND hunger simultaneously.

One thing to remember: giving blood uses over 500 calories. Make sure you eat more on blood donation days! Especially if you are eating at a deficit.
-
Should’ve mentioned: I did my first 6 months with no scale. When I finally checked in, I had lost over 50 lbs.
-
Now that you know the number, you can use that with height and activity level to calc your calories needed for deficit. Then you can stick to measuring tape or clothes that you’d like to fit into. If you are precise about your food measurements, you’re hydrating appropriately, and you’re honest with your food diary, then…

Last week visited Vegas for the first time. Had no idea there would be SO. MUCH. WALKING. And all those escalator bridges just to cross the street. A lot of the escalators were broken, and I kept thinking as a charged up the steps, a year ago I would not have been able to do this! I often chose the stairs when the…

@BarnardSunshine Big huggggggs coming your way. I feel you. I just got back from a trip and gained 4 lbs even tho I walked 25 miles and tried to eat at maintenance and behave at least somewhat. One thing that has helped me is I pack a bunch of my own food. I make my own flaxseed bread (recipe from nutrition refined blog)—…

I make my own flaxseed bread from nutrition refined blog recipe. I’m not a baker. This bread is too easy to screw up. Then I can make little sandwiches or just a snack plate and it’s super filling. Not sure if you do dairy, but I like to pair it with cheese and fruit and veggies.

I do frozen blueberries with heavy cream or half and half (only a couple tbsp so not a big fat/calorie bomb) then add fun toppings like chia seeds, cacao nibs, pecans, hemp hearts, or coconut chips. I call it my Coldstone Creamery substitute. I buy seasoning packets or mix my own to add to cream cheese (can do low fat or…

And try to make sure you’re eating enough!! Ugh I’ve been having a hard time hitting my calorie goals and I’m healing slow as a result. I’m just not hungry enough.

I have this issue too. I really struggle to eat enough. I’m just not hungry!
