Thank you. I just wondered if it had specific gardening purpose. Like there was a secret shade garden behind them.

It worked! I can honestly say, had I not posted yesterday evening, I'm certain that I would have eaten more. But pre-posting gave me that extra piece of motivation/conviction/strength/what ever you want to call it. I wasn't hungry. I was stressed. I know it may sound like a visit day wouldn't be stressful and we went to…

Posting late today. We visited our youngest son today, which means 5 hours of driving. We went to a beach with him and did a little canoeing and some walking out into the water and throwing the baton for the dog. The dog is exhausted. I'm posting both yesterday's and today's IN & OUT. I'm currently within my 1770 and am…

finally got a 10 out of 10 day! There is no way I’ll get 10 tomorrow. We are visiting our youngest son. 2.5 hour drive there and back… yup that’s 5 hours of driving.

@the_reflex Welcome to the challenge! I agree with everything @Jon4189 wrote. In addition, MFP will calculate target calories IN. Many MFPers also use calculator.net to have a second opinion for target calories IN. Weight loss happens when you are at a caloric deficit. Exercise is for maintaining and building muscle.…

Good day yesterday. Went for two walks and exercised. My 7 day trend weight is coming back down. I feel like I've 'flattened the up trending curve'. Took a page from Jon and pre-logged food yesterday before I ate it and then stuck with what I logged. Eg., We had burgers for dinner and normally I'd put ketchup on mine, but…

@Crochetluvr Sorry to hear about your dog. I hope your dog recovers. We've had those kinds of emergency vet bills. It is never a good feeling. @deepwoodslady Don't be disappointed with yourself. Take it as a learning opportunity. One day does not define us. You might find the latest Coach Viva cravings video helpful (to be…

@frankwbrown Happy 5th Anniversary!! You are doing great! In another 5 years, you'll look back at years 3 & 4 on your graph and they will just be a small blip. You've embraced a healthy lifestyle and that will be with you for ever.

Who knew that a conditional formatting would keep me motivated? I know, plantpowered knew. 3 more days and I'll have all green.

My trend weight is going up, but I'm not worried about it. I'm focusing on the calories IN and keeping those at or below by 1770 target. Last night, I really wanted a glass of wine. But I had logged my calories throughout the day and I didn't have 'wine calories' available, so no wine. It is those little events that make…

@frankwbrown Thank you for the review of the protein coffee!

totally normal. Weight loss comes from being in a caloric deficit. Exercise is for maintaining and build I g muscle.

I know you love the details of the ROM Walks, that's the main reason I put them in. I don't think the places mean much to anyone else. I agree with you regarding drinking calories. I love a glass of wine. I've not tried protein coffee either. And I learned a new word "peristalsis".

Playing around with the data and made this… Same data with smaller range on the right axis: What are we looking at? Blue line is my 7 day average weight. Orange line is my 7 day average calories IN from 7 days earlier. The reason there is no data for the first two weeks —> 1) I didn't track food the first week in January…

I'm taking a page from plantpowered and added some conditional formatting to my calories IN as these are, imo, the main factor I control. Goal is to keep them green. Sunday we did a ROM Walk called War, Peace and Art. It highlighted all the monuments from Queen's Park to Nathan Phillips Square. I found this walk more…

@dawnbgethealthy regarding eating breakfast —> Two thoughts I wonder if you’ve ever tried 1) protein coffee and 2)Ensure or Boost or other meal replacement drink? Dr Mary Claire Haver swears by protein coffee. I've never tried it. @Crochetluvr Sorry to hear you are feeling down. Glad you are crotcheting, since you love…

What is rebounding?

This has turned out to be more diffucult than I thought it would be. Three days in, I've gotten 8 out of 10 hours per day each of the past three days. I need to the ensure I do the 250 steps at the beginning of each hour.

@plantpowered Re vertigo —> I hope the episode passes quickly for you.

I didn't post yesterday. Friday was my husband's birthday. We went out for a fancy dinner at a local steakhouse. Calories IN were way high, but so were calories OUT. There was no way I was going to go to this restaurant and order a salad! Saturday, I exercised before breakfast because I didn't eat breakfast because I was…

So much for the 145s & higher being behind me…. sigh… Yesterday was an active recovery day. I went for two walks, cleaned bathrooms, did laundry and did some stretching in the afternoon. I'm surprised I'm feeling a little sore today. But I'll get my workout in.

I’m currently in the 100 day challenge. A daily walk and minimum 5 days exercise per week are already pretty solid habits. Where I could use improvement is walking throughout the day. My FitBit tracks whether I get 250 steps every hour from 9am to 7pm. I think for this challenge, I’d like to bring up my average of number…

Thank you. We had two couches down there. But recently called Got Junk and had them removed. It made the area much more spacious. Most of the equipment has been purchased since 2018. My former employer had an annual fitness allowance. So, every year I'd buy something. My most recent purchase is a pull up bar, but I haven't…

Prorated today's scale and Tuesday's scale for yesterday's missing weigh-in. Day 50 — Half way point! I wish I had made more progress, but I know I can't wish for it, I have to work for it. But it shouldn't turn your life up side down either. I was talking with my eldest son today and said I lose 3 pounds, then gain 2,…

The old saying ‘muscle burns fat’. It isn’t wrong but isn’t completely true either. having said that, if you add some resistance training, you’ll maintain and potentially gain some muscle.

Weight loss comes from being at a caloric deficit. Exercise is for building and maintaining muscle. Which ever one you actually do and enjoy. Exercise should not be a chore or something to get through.
