  • I know, ive been shocked to see and hear what is on the chopping block. I hope by some miracle your org gets spared. You have an important and difficult job for sure! I did some grant writing in school and with my internships, not for the faint of heart. Enjoy your walk!
  • wow, it sounds like you really love your job. That’s awesome! I love hearing about people working together to build community. My education is in social work, that kind of talk livens me right up! glad things are going well (as can be expected given the circumstances) .
  • whew! sw: 227. Cw 216.5. Gw 147 I have had a rough go the last few days. I can’t believe I managed to still lose weight! The food noise has been terrible and that , coupled with insomnia, brutal. I have managed to keep my commitments to log my food and exercise each day, so I’m putting that in the win column. I also ate a…
  • whew! What a day you had. Congrats on sticking to your plan as best as the situation allowed. Couldn’t have been easy. Hope you have a great gaming date!
  • @meachemcrystal795 , ugggh! I hate when I get sick or don’t feel well and I’m trying to focus on something important to me. Remember to give yourself a break and take care of yourself through this. UTI’s are no fun! Especially one that is hard to treat. Hang in there, you got this!
  • today is a YAY day! Sw: 227 cw: 217 Gw:147 I’ve dropped a few more pounds! I’m now only 2 pounds away from being back to my regular overweight self. Only 2 more what-was-I-thinking pounds to lose. I did something kind of crazy yesterday. I’m a little hesitant to post about it because it feels pretty vulnerable to confess…
  • I also buy my gear using end of season sales. I’ve gotten some great items that way, and they last and last, and last, which I love. I’m in Oregon and we’re getting a bit of the fake spring here too. My daffodils are rising to the occasion, I just hope we don’t get a big freeze now. We certainly don’t have weather anything…

  • well, so far this week I have exercised each day. I’ve gone to curves. @77tes , so sorry to hear you lost the curves near you but I’m inspired to hear that the support lives on in the members who had joined! Today my son is down visiting so my morning is a bit thrown off. Not sure if I’m going to make it to curves this…
  • we are right around the same weight. My morning routine is: get up, pee, weigh, check blood sugar. Then I move to phase 2 which includes taking meds, getting caffeine etc. my weight is bouncing up and down too. we got this! 😊
  • thanks for the encouragement @Sunrise0123 ! I feel better knowing I’m not the only one waiting for some of those rewarding moments. I have noticed that even though my clothes aren’t any looser, I am wearing them with a bit more confidence. Especially my work out clothes. Ironically, before I started working out, I wouldn’t…
  • Patience is my word for the day today. Patience. I don’t have any. I want to lose this weight right. Now. Or at least some of it. I keep reading stories about the signs of early success in weight loss and I’m feeling left out. For example, one success I read this morning, the author had tried on a pair of pants that…
  • thanks for the welcome @totameafox! I am glad to be here. ‘to answer your question, I am actually on 3 diabetes medications and have a family history that includes lots of complications. My other two medications are at what my dr. Calls “optimal” doses. (I think it means I’m maxed out on them). I take metformin and…
  • yum, that sounds good! ‘I’ve had breakfast so far: blueberry oatmeal Sprouted oats, Blueberries, milk, butter, and sugar for the top. 294 cal. 35.8 g carbs. 10.3g fat. 10.3g protein.
  • thanks for the suggestions @megd44 and @CaityP27 . We have a food scale because one of our sons is a type 1 diabetic. Measuring out my portions is a good idea. I have an appointment with my nutritionist this morning. She told me that I would be struggling to eat enough on the Ozempic and at first, I wasn’t, and I still had…
  • Thanks for sharing your story, it is inspiring! (I have about 70 pounds to lose). And, I’m working on mustering up the courage to start a blog/thread. I think it would be helpful to have a spot to record my ups and downs, accomplishments and struggles, or whatever you want to call it/them. I have a few fur babies too, and…

  • I wasn’t sure if other people could start a blog/thread there as well?
  • Yes! I just joined a few weeks ago. I’m trying really hard to set myself up for success. I need to added support they offer right now. Do you still go to Curves?
  • Hello! I am new to this group and hoping that adding some structure, support, and education around habit forming will help me along my journey. I started by reading the introduction sections (nuts and bolts etc) so think I am posting this in the right place. 😊 1. My goal for this month (This March I will exercise daily) 2.…
  • I’m on ozempic and have had a few bouts of nausea. The first time it went away on its own and the second time it took ondansetron for it. It worked great. My doctor prescribed it.
  • I’m thinking it might be helpful for me to post on a regular basis about my goals, accomplishments, struggles etc. is there a section of the community boards for that sort of ongoing thread? I’ve been clicking around and haven’t seen one but maybe I missed it?
  • Half the battle seems to be figuring out what works for us individually. There is more than one right way forward on our weight loss quests. Way to go figuring out what works for you!
  • Thank you Dmkoenig and TinaBrenton! I have heard of zucchini spirals instead of noodles but haven’t tried it yet. I’m going to have to make a point of it. Tina, we got this!
  • That sounds delicious Springlering62! Thanks for the tip about using ground chicken in place of sausage, I’ll have to give that a try.
  • Hi totameafox, thanks for the invite to your group/blog. I too, am disabled. I was hit by a drunk driver in my early 20’s. The resulting injuries have caused more and more chronic pain over time. It makes exercise more challenging but not impossible. Thanks for being an inspiration! We can do this. 😊
  • Thanks Totameafox. I’m hoping to learn how to cook healthy meals through this. I’m great at making spaghetti (tonight’s dinner) but I’ve secretly envied people who can cook those amazing meals I see advertised for food plans and such. I agree that it’s about moderation. I had a fulfilling plate of spaghetti tonight and the…
  • I wonder if insurance would pay for one if it were prescribed?
  • Hello, I just recently graduated from pre-diabetes to full blown type 2 diabetes with a recent A1C of 8.4. My dr. Added ozempic to my already prescribed meds of metformin and jardiance. I’m hopeful that the ozempic will control my crazy sugar cravings long enough for me to establish some new skills and habits. Ideally, I’d…
  • Hello! I’m back for a second try at this. Didn’t use the community features first time around but am trying to do things differently this time. I would love to meet likeminded folks on this weight loss, life gain, journey.
  • I typed out a nice long reply then hit the wrong button and lost it. 🤪. Let me see if I can sum up: Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply Springlering62. I met with a dietician on Tuesday and am currently keeping a log for her. I realized I don’t know how to cook healthy meals, I’m excited to learn some new ways to…
