Hi everyone! I finally weighed myself after being sick all of June and taking a break from MFP. Not too much damage done but gained a few pounds back. I just found out I do not have celiac disease but I have to have more bloodwork done because my iron is still super low… my doctor thinks there might be another kind of…

Hi, all - long time no see. I was sick all of June and I’m finally feeling better! I’m being tested for celiac disease and had to do a gluten challenge in June, which either coincided with a head cold or caused my body to go into some kind of shock. And I still had to work and parent little ones so I’ve been off MFP for a…

I feel a lot of those “what’s the point” feelings! Using this app can feel monotonous and tedious. Is there anywhere near you like a park or a trail where you can walk for fitness before or after work instead of going to the gym?

Hi everyone- thanks for checking in on me, Beverly. I’m not able to keep up with the messages but doing ok. Lost a few pounds finally. Whew! Trying to keep tracking accurately. I’m finding it hard to get through the afternoon when I go running in the morning.

I like that challenge idea. I agree that eating out is so hard! I have the free MFP and cannot scan barcodes - but could when I did premium a few years ago. It occurred to me today that I’ve been tracking now for almost three weeks straight and I feel like I’m in the motivation “danger zone.” I have lost one pound in 2.5…

Hello! I’m still here. Have two small kids and a busy job and everyone has been sick this past week, including my husband so I’ve been exhausted and struggling to keep up on the check ins! I feel like the weekdays are so much better for me and the weekends are tough, except that I have more time exercise. I’ve been on a…

Hi, all! Yesterday was my birthday 🎉 Had a good day. Tried to keep things on track & also enjoy a treat! Went for a long walk & hike with my husband and felt good to spend time outside. I finally dropped one pound since I started tracking about two weeks ago! I weigh myself every day, but not sure if that is a good…

Hi there! Count me in. I’m 44 & 5’4”. This is my 3rd (4th?) go around with tracking etc. The first time, I did WW for 5-6 months and lost about 20 lbs. Felt good with the weight off but it was tough - I felt like I was borderline starving myself. Then I eventually gained it back and a little more. Then had two kids, was…

I think the difference is between carbs that are nutritious (fruit) and carbs that are less nutritious (candy and chips). Unfortunately, if you’re tracking macros I don’t think you can differentiate between the two. So you could eat a moderate/healthy amount of fruit, for example, but your carb percentage will seem high.…

Your sleep situation sounds really tough. I hope you find some answers! For me, I used to be very active when I was younger, but now less so (working full time with young kids). I sleep so much better when I’ve been very physically active, which is hard to find time for these days. I hope your increased activity helps with…

Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred! Is that log-able on MFP?

I just write something similar before reading yours. Yum!

We make turkey meatballs or burgers. I put onion, salt+pepper, garlic, cumin, fresh parsley, and fresh thyme or cilantro into the food processor and chop that up. Add it to the ground turkey with an egg and then make little balls or patties and cook it over medium heat in a little coconut oil. Serve it with fresh green…

Thank you so much everyone! I already feel better!

I had set it to 1.5 lbs per week and it gave me 1200, so I changed it to 1 lb per week and it’s now like 1450 (but more with exercise). Thanks for the tips and helping me figure this out!

Thank you. I’m 5’4 and ~165lbs so not especially short and I’m not sedentary. I am learning more about logging accurately for sure. I think this is a huge shift for me from eating a nutritious but high fat diet (kind of large portions paleo - lots of nuts and avocado) to feeling like I’m eating so much less. I appreciate…

Not sure if you’re interested in yoga but Yoga with Adrienne has great beginner videos in YouTube and that can be a really subtle but effective way to build strength!
