  • I can assure you that everything I have consumed has been reflected in my diary. Both my wife and I work from home still and I just don't feel hungry very much. Having small meals throughout the day and night keep me quite full. I understand how MFP's plan works and I'm not trying to "outsmart" it as I believe somebody…
  • I'm probably just overthinking. It's only been about a week or so. Actually I've gained about four pounds in that time frame. Just strange because my food intake barely ever changes. I have my diary set on public so anybody feel free to read it and see if there is anything that I could be doing wrong. Thank you for…
  • Not really all the time. Just a few times a day without getting into too much unneeded detail haha I love water cold but not ice cold. Thats how my wife likes it. I don't need ice chips in my bottled water. Going to try to lessen up on the water a bit. Maybe get down to about six bottles in a 24 hour period and see how it…
  • I drink it just because it gives the water some flavor. Sometimes I use it, sometimes not. I list it on my diary every time I use it though. I think I drink so much water because I usually have small snacks throughout the day with cereal bars, dried apricots, etc. and have a water every time so it adds up. I've always been…
  • I can definitely see how water can clear out your system especially after those bad days when you give in to old, bad habits. I just never realized how much water I drank on a given day even though Thursdays are usually bad due to my flextime schedule that day and I end up drinking a bit more due to just trying to stay…
  • Been at it again. Lost quite a bit of weight years back. Gained it back over time. I've been doing well again. Lost 36 since October. 42 years old so not getting any younger. Feel free to add me. Trying to get down to 180 again. A weight I haven't been at in around 20 years. Another 68 lbs to go. Let's do this!
  • Welcome to the site. I've been back since October. The site seems to navigate better than the app. You'll get used to it. Best thing to start with is just make sure you're logging everything you eat so you can see how much you're really eating. Consistency is key and it takes time to lose the weight. Put in the work and…
  • I really wouldn't call it a stance. It's just when I hear of starvation mode, the first thing that enters my mind are those starving children. Clean water is definitely hard to come by and could be part of why starvation mode (or just starving in general) enters my mind when I hear that term. Just another reason why…
  • When I think of starvation mode, it reminds me of those poor children in third world countries. Not simply going a while without a bunch of calories. Starvation or starvation mode also includes not drinking enough water as well. With how accessible water is, I don't see that happening.
  • I really get that. Self-discipline is a hard thing to handle especially with so many fast food places on every single corner. Love God with your heart, mind, BODY and soul. There is plenty of Scripture about gluttony that I think I've purposely looked over in the past.
  • My baby sister is turning 30 in June. Where does the time go? :'(
  • I started because I didn't want to be dead by the time I was 60 in less than another twenty years but I forgot how great it makes you feel too and that feeling of loose shirts is awesome. What keeps me motivated now is reaching that goal of getting back to my old weight of 180 and that feeling of accomplishment every…
  • Just was thinking a lot about how I'm 42 years old already and how young and healthy I was back in the 90s. I've lost the weight before...Not all of it as I'm trying to do now but I went back to bad, unhealthy eating habits. Working from home has been a Godsend. Weight is falling off again and just thinking to…
  • Feel free to add me. Been at it again since October and lost 35 lbs so far. Daily poster in my 40s just trying to get back into my old shape around 180 again. Have a great day!
  • I wouldn't think so. If you look into studies about starvation mode, that takes quite a while to occur. Make sure you're being accurate with what you put in your diary (to the best of your ability). I eat about 1200-1300 calories a day and the weight loss has been great recently. Also a lot of sodium can add to water…
  • I've lost 35 pounds in about four months. Feel free to add me too. Trying to get down to 180 pounds. Still 69 more to go. 42 years old and know it can't ever be like how it was when I was young in the 90s, we can still get in great shape and hopefully look a little younger while we're at it! We got this!
  • Y'all can add me too. Been here before and know how to lose the weight. Down 32 lbs since October. Just have to count every calorie. Whether you're over or under for the day, as long as you're accurate with your log, nothing will be a surprise. I want to be 180 again like I was 20 years ago. Just have to make the right…
  • Yeah I've been here before but back again. Always been successful at just counting calories but, at some point, just fell back into bad food again. Still working from home with my wife and always seemed a lot more doable when we're not driving around with temptation everywhere. Want to be where I was 20 years ago in my…
  • 109 and lost 27 pounds thus far. Pretty good, I think.
