Wow, awesome! Thank you for such a thorough response, and even taking the time to include a program I can try. I really do appreciate it!

Well that's quite reassuring! lol. I suppose it's hard to tell from the angle I posted, but when I pinch, here's an approximation of what part of my arm contains no muscle and is purely fat hanging down. My current program consists of 40 minutes of HIIT once a week, and 30-40 minute sessions of weight training once a week…

Oh my gosh I just realized your post was from 2021 and not 2022. I assume you're already married by now, LOL disregard! (and congrats again!)

Congrats girl! I'm getting married in September and would love to connect with another bride for support! <3

All of these really resonated with me! And you look amazing, congratulations on your progress! <3 something else I had to STOP was falling into the 'all or nothing mentality.' If I had a day where I slightly bombed my defecit, I would sometimes just go off the deep end- either binge, or continue bombing my defecit,…

That's such a wonderful and spontaneous measure of your lifestyle change! :)

Congrats girl!!! That's a huge milestone! :)

2 weeks ago i was gutted that my favourite pants wouldn't button anymore. As of three days ago they fit again! :')

Celery tastes like biting into a stalk of cilantro to me, and I can't stand its stringy, soapy presence in all commercially available veggie trays. :D

I don’t actually have too many photos of my body from back then as I was quite ashamed and I’d literally rip up pictures or ask my friends to delete them- but from my face alone, there’s quite a noticeable difference! 210lbs, to about 155lbs now.

I'm getting married in the foreseeable future (thanks COVID for foiling our plans! on the bright side I have extra time to meet my goal~) and I want to have all eyes on me on my wedding day :p :D

Heya, first time posting in this group! Was an obese kid, got my weight under control in high school but was never "thin." After some disordered/unhealthy dieting I managed to get into the 130s about 4 years ago- and the weight slowly crept back to around 150 ever since. Went to therapy, have mostly made peace with my…

I'm engaged, I would love to be fully present at my wedding without the constant worry/fear of how my arms look in my dress haunting me on my special day. Gained some weight during the pandemic, making my previous goal of losing 20lbs now closer to needing to lose 30lbs :'(

What equipment do you have access to? [/quote] I have the following: 2x 10lbs dumbbells 2x 12lbs dumbbells 2x 15lbs dumbbells 1 janky old barbell with not very reliable clamps Plates for the barbell totalling a max of 35lbs (10, 5, 2.5 for each side) Various resistance bands at different levels of tension (the kind with…

14 years, wow!!! Nice commitment! That sounds nuts to me, but I suppose once you make it part of your routine it must be second nature to you by now! Do you find yourself going over your daily allowance often, or does your lifestyle mean that you are always planning meals in advance?

We don't have the data but if you're used to (for example) eating 2000-3000 calories, 1200 is indeed a huge adjustment. Perhaps you could try a less drastic amount, 1500, 1300, and ease your way into a 1200 calorie diet. I used to be a binge eater and limiting myself to 1200 calories was absolutely terrible for me. I would…

Yum! Sauerkraut, anyone? :D

Sporadically is what I had been doing in my plateau state for the last few years- I intend to try a more rigid and structured routine, training 5 days a week to see how it feels (I have already started this week and though I'm a little sore I feel pretty good so far).

By an established programme do you mean something like PHUL? The programme i put together is just a modified version of a template I saw online, modified to suit the equipment I have available at home. I did a lot of research and wouldn't just make anything up off the top of my head! I do have a friend who used to be a…

I've never really followed a specific structured programme before, usually just sporadic exercising sessions (or at least when gyms were still open, i'd cycle through different muscle groups like 'push, pull, and legs' but not very consistently). After reading your comment a few days ago I spent a few hours yesterday…

Really detailed answer, thank you! I was hoping to get an answer from someone with a similar body type/ experience, so this is especially appreciated.

Thanks! I guess I’ve been looking at the wrong forums haha. This is the first time I’m learning it’s okay to eat at maintenance for recomp. Much appreciated

Sometimes nutrition labels will list a food as 0 calories per serving, but truthfully, food companies are allowed to round down to 0 calories if the food item is actually something like 0.4 calories. Multiple servings can in fact accumulate calories- though the amount is negligible, this could be an issue for people who…

Thanks, this is a pretty level headed response. I guess I was expecting something more from the intense bodybuilding crowd which is why I was asking whether or not I should reduce calories vs. start training- I had been reading a lot of forums where, particularly men interested in bodybuilding, were encouraging each other…
