Good morning, I am not new to MFP but I am new to eating fewer carbs and the right kind of carbs. I am 68 and just learning about these things. I am trying a metabolic approach because it sounds sensible to me. So I would be glad for any advice. I know a little about the site if you need help, I may be able to help you out.

@SunshineFIGirl That's great she is very good at finding things out, sue hope you get it all working properly. Your right about salty fruit but my GD eat pears and adds salt to them, I have never tried them though. I try to stay away from most salty foods, I tend to hold water if I eat even a bit too much.

Try putting in the search boneless, skinless chicken thigh and each individual thing you put in. They have to go in 1 at a time to get accurate info.

Yes I have with an added cut up apple, wake up to that smell is some find of wonderful. I use water but I suppose you could use almond milk if you prefer.

If you do a search on freezer jams you might find more, they may say sugar but you can simply switch it for stevia and then you can have them ready in your freezer. You need small jars because as you said they won't keep much longer than a few days in the fridge.

Do you know it is far better to stay within 50- 100 calories from your goal everyday than eating less food. Eating too little can actually cause your body to hold on to the fat. You got good advice already myself have gone through menopause and I had to not let MFP add my exercise to my food, They give you more calories for every exercise.

Well, I don't have a diet I know fruits, veggies, beans and legumes are all high fiber foods.

@RockinRobyn672 Hope you hit in the Fall Challenge, it sure would be nice to be able to hit each challenge but I sure never have, so I always enjoy it when it does happen. It took me 2 years to get this close to my goal & still have 8 lbs. to go some lose 100 lbs. a year , I have no idea how they do that.
