I gave up on the public list almost immediately. Not only were there too many options with incorrect values but also not many of my local brands were represented. I took the time to enter all my "regular" pantry items into the My Foods area - filling in all the macro fields that interest me. When adding I always put the…

Last Night's Pizza Dinner.. Gotta agree with you PAV .. this new message board layout and functionality is not user friendly at all. I've given up doing anything community based on my Android app - only ever posting when on the web version

Dinner tonight - Homemade pizzas! Have just finished building my recipe in MFP as follows: Italian Herb Wrap Base (Half the calories and healthier than pizza bases plus makes nice crispy base) Pizza Sauce (Tomato & Herbs) Ham (Shaved) Salami (We just had some made - collected today so naturally have to incorporate it in…

That is why I'm not making any cheeses at the moment LOL - they were "definitely" a source of over indulgence! Nice to make some in spring and have for share plates during summer when entertaining - or give as gifts - but haven't had time so far this season. I saw Annabel on TV just the other night as it happens! She's a…

Here's a selection of cheeses I made last spring! Clockwise from the top is: Camembert Jarlsberg (That had been aged in regular wax - non flavoured) Ibores Creamy Havarti with Chives Jarlsberg (That had been aged in natural beeswax - honey flavoured) Twin Bel Paese cheeses - going into the fridge for ripening

There are times when I really miss having a microwave! So many cool microwave meal options these days..

I made my own Toasted Muesli last night. Works out at similar calories per serving (when compared to a store brand) BUT is less sweet to taste and has my preferred blend of nuts/seeds/fruit. I usually eat this with Vanilla Bean Yoghurt.
-
You too can make the toasted Muesli Pav! ;) It was actually deceptively easy! I'm happy to share my recipe and notes if you feel like giving it a go..

Made my own toasted muesli last night - And enjoying my first breakfast of it now! Works out to be the same KJ per serving as the store bought one so good there. My version tastes less sweet than the purchased one, which is good considering I usually eat it with Vanilla Bean yoghurt (which is sweet enough on it's own), and…

Question To You All - Have any of you tried making your own toasted muesli? And if so - do you have any recipes / hints / tips to share? I looked up a couple of recipes online - spent some time working out the actual calories aaannndd... The result is that 1 serve of the online recipe is EXACTLY the same calories as 1…

Tonight - going to do a wee roast of lamb and some oven baked veges - carrots, potato, parsnip (if I have some).

Made creamy mushrooms with bacon last night. The fellers had theirs on pasta. I decided to skip the pasta so that I could have some mango frozen yoghurt for dessert. I need to put my hand up and admit that it was a bit of a failure! :'( The bacon I used had been over-brined in the making, and even though I only stirred it…

Having friends over tonight - So firing up the BBQ. Will do butterflied chicken (herb flavour) and some steak. Sides will be a spinach/betroot/walnut/camembert salad and some boiled perla potatoes.

Good Morning Everyone! Just seen that you live in Vancouver PAV. We visited there a couple of years ago before the pandemic and we LOOOOVED it! We stayed in Vancouver city and Cowichan Bay - can't wait to visit again. On our return trip the kids bags got held up and searched by customs/police because they each had several…

Where I used to live the green grocers used to make several flavours of Turkish Delight. My favourite was the Hazelnut one (never did like the rose or overly sickly sweet flavours).

Yup Android user here. Community just shows as a blank page for me too when on my phone. I'm accessing now via desktop/web application. I have several criticisms for this version of the forums .. but shrug .. I make do.
-
Well .. since this is quite the topic .. worthy of a literary Pulitzer nomination .. I'm going to add my few words on the subject! We not only have Swedes and Potatoes - but also Turnips and ... *drum roll please* Kumara (Aka Sweet Potato). Now my grandmother informed me many moons ago that the "proper" way to make mash is…
