When I approached a new season, I'd check sizing and set aside. So essentially, once season, per year. Your loss in weight is someone else's gain in their closet. Don't forget to check shoes; your feet shrink too!

Your other post has some really helpful replies. Go check them out!

Welcome back! Congratulations on your progress to date!

@glenz521 , I am doing both low carb and calorie counting. My morning carbs are around 15g, lunch and dinner around 30g per meal. I keep a close eye on my continuous glucose monitor (not covered by insurance) to learn which foods trigger glucose spikes. Small changes lead to bigger changes. Try not to change too many…

Small changes lead to bigger changes. You are doing great. Logging your food isn't only about counting calories, it's also a reminder to include some of those superfoods that work for you. For me, it's spinach, blueberries, and chia seeds. When I don't log my food, I forget to include them in my diet. Then I wonder why I'm…

Congratulations! It's been two years since my diagnosis (65 pounds lost) and I'm now off of Metformin. My last A1c was a little higher than I wanted (still in low prediabetes), but I'm off the meds. I hadn't realized how critical logging food is... I kept forgetting to add all of the superfoods to my leafy green salads…

I was on insulin with gestational diabetes years ago. Diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago, my diabetes educator recommended no more than 30 - 45 carbs per meal. I hired a registered dietician and turned my western diet around 180 degrees. Max of 30 carbs at dinner, usually 15 - 20 at breakfast and lunch, and none of them…

I see no reason to have 4 icons to subscribe. One is plenty enough.

Type 2 diabetes here as well. I'm about as low as I can get in the pre-diabetes range. I thought I'd reversed it but had a bad meal at a restaurant and only ate the french fries (they were delicious!) I was wearing a continuous glucose monitor and was shocked when the alarms on my phone started going off. Blood glucose to…

Congratulations on your consistency!! Keeping an eye on the big picture is smart. It's so easy to feel defeated with day to day fluctuations. I'm rooting for you!

I'm focusing on 5 pound mini-goals. It takes me about 3 months to lose 5 pounds. I'd love to make that goal by the holidays.
-
I hired a registered dietician to guide me to better health. I've eliminated most processed foods from my diet. I move quickly to get from point A to point B. Consistency has been key for my 50 pound loss.

Wowee! You lost nearly 100 pounds in seven months?? You are crushing it!

Your question really made me think. A diagnosis of metabolic syndrome (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes) shocked me out of my inertia a year ago. I hired a registered dietician to guide me through my diet overhaul. (Note: my diagnoses are now under control with my dietary, movement, and medication…

I just moved out of the 170s! Yippee!

Congratulations!!

47 pounds down, 27 to go to get out of the obese category. We leave for a cruise Thursday. My mini-goal for that cruise is to eat and exercise with purpose. Yes, there will be indulgences, but I don't want to blow the health that I have gained over the past year.

How awesome that you took "before" pictures! The difference is noticeable! Cheers to better mobility and health!

Fantastic news! Health is an ongoing journey and you are rocking it! (Although I'm a little jealous; I'm not off my meds yet. )

Today I'm three pounds away but I've had a big drop this week so I expect to rebound one of these days. Just keep going!

My mini goal is to add more cruciferous veggies to my diet. I'm good with leafy greens, beans, berries, nuts and seeds, avocados, olive oil, minimal processed foods and reducing my animal protein. I want to reduce my risk of dementia.

One foot in front of the other gets the job done!

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year; now following the Mediterranean diet. As a short term substitute for night time cereal (500+ calories?) consider eating some healthy fats such as avocado, walnuts, almonds. I limit my snacks to half an ounce, which is about 100 calories. Satiated, and then sleep well.

"I heard her slam some papers on her desk and then she said,” well, I guess we don’t need to worry about you, then.” She did ask for the spreadsheet. I don’t think she believed me, lol. Sometimes, I don’t even believe myself. " Spring, I love this so much!! You're my idol!

I love your point of view! If you haven't yet talked with a registered dietician, I highly recommend it. Their knowledge base is so wide and we don't know what we don't know. This year I was diagnosed with diabetes and all of the highs (blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.) and I'd have had a much longer learning curve on how…

Yesterday my shoes feel too roomy. They were tied as tight as I could get 'em. My daughter is thrilled because she now knows what I need for Christmas!

I live in CA and googled it. Here's a national group. eatright.org What you need is a registered dietician. Anyone can hang out their shingle as a nutritionist. If you have dietary issues, include that with your search. I <3 mine!

Hiring a registered dietician was the best decision I've made on this journey. Great job!
