Agreeing with it helping. I can't eat anything high fat and overly processed without it coming straight back out again! Haha. I hope it forgets to leave any calories behind as it goes...

I have no gall bladder and I am losing weight just fine. I haven't noticed any effect except my scars seem to poke out more where the skin around them is shrinking. I'm 31 and had the surgery 8 years ago

With less to lose, it will come off slower. Aim for 1/2 a lb a week, adjust your numbers, keep up the exercise, and don't get weighed for a month. See if it makes a difference.

I set mine between 134 and 170. Lower than that and I might as well just sit and do nothing, higher than that and I feel like I am going to die

I am 5ft 4 and about 198lb I wear a UK 16 which is a US 10 Weight lifting did it for me

If you lose 8lbs do you really think you will see a difference? Just do it properly, and slowly. Then you won't put it all back on within the month.

I eat 1600ish and most days look like this. Breakfast, mug cake made with whey powder, an egg & almond milk Snack - coffee with almond milk (I can't drink proper milk but admit almond milk isn't that great tasting) Lunch - a bag of salad greens, 150g cooked chicken or ham, 150g cottage cheese, sometimes some seafood sticks…

You really need to cut down on the processed ready meals. The salt in them is immense. If you dont have time or ability to cook for yourself, have you considered an omelette? I can't actually make omelettes, they always turn into scrambled egg with stuff in them. But they are healthy, tasty, full of protein - which is…

I make a vanilla protein shake with almond milk and tons of ice, blend it with either a shot of cooled espresso or a spoonful of dried coffee. I add a couple of calorie free toffee flavour drops if I am going all out.... Thats about 150 cals

Use this to your advantage! Look at your friends and see how you do not want to become them! Get healthy and hope that they will follow your lead. My sister is huge - 260-270lbs possibly more at a guess, my mother is not AS huge, maybe 200 but shes only 5ft 2, they are both incredibly obese, as is my sisters partner, my…

If you do it enough it becomes habit. My biggest problem is boredom. I started getting bored of going to the gym so I am currently swimming 2-3 times a week and gymming just the once. I know I should go more but once is more than zero so I am not going to let it get to me. Try and do something everyday. If I am being lazy,…

A 3 week restricted eating plan is fine (= it will probably work if you stick to it), however what happens when you start eating properly again? If you crave sweet things, make up your own plan, work out your TDEE minus 10-20% depending how much you aim to lose, do a little exercise where you can (I have been renovating a…

Try a larger band size

I wear a shock absorber high impact sports bra. My G cups don't move and I breath easily

http://www.proteinpow.com/ has lots of recipes, if you search for flavdrops (the uk equivalent) she has 7 pages of recipes using them

I have never seen a butter flavour one, but I probably wouldnt use it as I don't think I would like it. I have some normal almond essence for baking, which I havent used yet, but I have used generic peppermint essence in a chocolate shake before. I might give the almond a go in a vanilla/pb shake, but these ones are…

Presuming you mean something similar to these Flavdrops, I use the coffee and toffee ones in coffee instead of sugar, and in protein shakes and protein cakes just for a different flavour. http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/flavdrops/10530471.html

MFP is never usually accurate for calories burned. I suggest buying a HRM (A polar FT4 is a good budget one) to work it out for yourself

My legs always shake after being on a cross trainer too, I almost fall down the stairs when leaving the gym. I tend to avoid it and go for the elliptical which I think is a bit easier. I don't usually work in stone but I have lost 4 and have another 2-3 to go. When I first went to my gym with 7 stone to lose (thats 98lbs,…

I can leg press 96kg, I can squat just over 20kg. Too right the leg press is easier!

This happens with a lot of portions. If you are only reading the guideline on the front, you need to check what a portion actually consists of. I always check the back because I like to keep an eye on protein, so its easier to see per bag vs per portion vs per 100g. But yeah, 131 cals won't hurt.

You dont have to eat all of the extra calories, but its a good idea to eat some of them to help fuel your workout. You can always eat them back the next day.
-
You need to calculate your numbers (TDEE etc) based on being lightly - moderately active (you will know which you are). You will have more calories to play with so should be less hungry.

I agree BMI is crap. I have lost over 50lbs, BMI says I am still obese. To get to a normal BMI I need to lose another 50lbs. Every person I have mentioned this to has said no way, you will look hideous if you lose another 50lbs. So I plan to lose at most, another 30lbs which will put me right in the middle over the…

I'm one too. You can usually tell who is, they say what they think :)

You mean Northerners!

Kettlebells are a good step up, but for a proper weight lifting program you could really use some free weights. It might be worth getting a day trial at a gym so you can play with their equipment and decide what to get for yourself.
-
It depends how you work out your daily goal. If you put your activity level to zero, then yes, eat exercise calories. If you put your activity level to include your exercise, then no dont eat them. If its the first one, bear in mind that MFP only estimates calories burned so unless you have a HRM, eat maybe 50-75% of the…

This is even MORE amusing! Thanks everyone, I got a new friend out of this thread!
