  • Just started the couch potato to 5k this evening, have been meaning to start it for awhile but couldnt get motivated, but today started looking after a 5 yr old black ret x lab who needs to loose weight (same as me) and the vet has said she needs more exercise (same as me) - took advice from professional and we started on…
  • Wow!! cannot believe the prices you guys pay for a gym in the USA, over here in the UK its expensive, the cheapest I have found is about $70 per month and thats with restricted access. So instead I walk - its the cheapest gym in the world, has excellent views (Yorkshire) and the music is pretty cool (plugged into ipod) and…
  • Happy New Year from East Yorkshire
  • Used to use milk in tea, but then converted to black coffee - just cant stand the taste of milk in coffee its yuck - but do love having a glass of ice cold milk on an evening. Used to live near a dairy and used to get jugs of the full fat stuff - so thick that you had to spoon it into your tea - it was vile and used to…

  • First and second are lovely, cant choose between either!
  • I was going to go back to WW or SW and then I found MFP, I find that I can do well without either, the encouragement on here is fab, and you know your one click away from support and advice. I personaly would not go back to a slimming club as I didnt like the 'weighing in' I used to hate that bit, and wanted to run in, get…
  • Mine are to big as well, think people are getting fed up of me hiking my jeans up all the time. Time to buy some new ones, but I am thinking I might invest in a belt instead lol
  • That has to be the funniest thing I have seen for a while........... Yes Linda, you are real....you are also a nutter :) It brings a new meaning to body brushing!
  • Thank you all, just hoping the weather stays good! As long as we do not see rain it will be fine. x
  • I have been doing that for the past week, plus friend brought tons of home grown tomato's in which was fab, why does home grown stuff taste so sweeeeet!!. Today was the only hiccup and I just didn't have time to make a packed lunch (I confess I slept in a little) so it was grab a dried noodle pack out of the cupboard (just…

  • Bread. I dont buy it, if I dont have it in my house I cant eat it. Bread of any kind, italian, pitta, sliced white, granary!!!! Oh please pass me a slice of bread I love the stuff!

  • Thanks for the tip, I love pizza, strangely I like the supermarket kind, but really do not like the takeaway type, (find them to greasy) but I will defo try your recipe x
  • It all depends on what kind of wind you mean :) If you mean the weather kind, I have been kept awake all night by my letter box rattling due to the high winds and today will consist of a trip to the hardware store to buy a new one with a strong spring. If you mean the other kind of wind..........try charcoal tablets :)
  • Hehe Your post did make me chuckle Keep up the walking and the thinking!
  • I track my progress on how I feel and on comments from other people. I dont measure myself - mmmm is that bad, maybe I should, but I think I will know I have lost inches when my clothes feel looser, and they are, my biggest jeans are now waiting to be cut up and put in the bin. I only weigh myself every two weeks - I know…
  • I have a sweet tooth, and I do have a chocolaty treat once in a while still, but I have found that 'Fizzy Jelly' hits the mark, make up low cal jelly by melting it with a little water and replacing the rest of the water with low cal lemonade and leave to set, its even better when you put fresh fruit in it. If you live in…
  • During past diets, probably every day..... This time around it will be every month, some may freak out at that but I say that if I am eating healthy and exercise I should see some weight loss once a month, plus I think if I weighed daily I would get to disillusioned.
  • I stopped drinking soda about a fortnight ago, which is the date I also started my healthy eating regime. A fortnight later I have lost 13lb and I know a lot of that is the 'first week weight dump' but I also seriously think it has alot to do with getting rid of diet soda and coffee in my diet (and my doctor agrees as well)
  • Stay well away from them!
  • Well done you!! one day I hope to follow in your footsteps!! or should I say trainers!
  • I have a Nano Ipod, and I use it all the time when I go out walking, the music that I am listening to spurs me on and at the end of the walk I have a general idea of how far I have been (step wise). If I wanted it to be more exact I would invest in something else, but at the moment my nano suits me down to the ground. (but…
  • Thanks for the info, might try ebay as well!
  • WOW and Rift, used to be Sims 2 but old pc blew and then tried to reinstall on laptop and realised that I had lost one of the discs, cant get around that problem so no more sims for me. I know its not a game as such but used to be totaly addicted to 'Secondlife'
  • I think at the moment I will weigh in every fortnight, and then have a look and see if things are working out. Thank you so much for all your suggestions, this has got to be the first time that I have ever felt positive about a diet/healthy eating plan. xxx
  • I am sure you will be fabulous, I am pretty new to MFP and I love to read other peoples stories and find that I am not alone. To all the ladies on here, new and old you really are inspirational and like muendelyn I hope that one day I will be able to write my success story. Good luck Muendelyn you have taken the first and…
