Also- I LOVE the “comparison is the thief of joy “ statement. I have been guilty of comparing myself in many ways to others, and remembering this quote will help me realize that what I have to offer is unique to me. [/quote] That quote is attributed to Teddy Roosevelt. I have it written on a post it note in my office.…

I've heard it explained that weight loss leads to reduced inflammation, which reduces things like seasonal allergy symptoms. I don't know if that's really why it happens, but it is interesting to consider.

I ordered some size 6 jeans in my favorite brand from Ebay as goal jeans. They arrived and they fit. I assumed it was a happy fluke. My sister (who has always been thin) is staying in our guest room which is also my work-from-home office. Her clothes were sitting out so I tried some on just to gauge where I am. Both her…

I bought a size 6 of my favorite brand of jeans with hoped that I could shrink into them eventually (wanted some inspiration in the closet). They came today so I tried them on to see how far I have to go. THEY FIT!!!!!!! They are a bit stretchy, which helps, but I don't think I've ever worn a 6. I went through puberty and…

The size 8 jeans fit perfectly this morning. Guess I really should go buy some 6's so I can start aiming for them!!!!!

The 8's are a little tight, but I'm wearing them right now. Can't wait until they are the ones I automatically reach for because they fit well and look good.

My husband asked me today "Are these new shorts?" Me "Nope." Him "Maybe you should think about donating them. They look overly baggy." First I loved that he checked my mood on the shorts before criticizing them. Second I love that they are baggy because I bought them last summer a touch snug (but as I was working on losing…

Wore a pair of size 8 shorts tonight. I don't care right now that it's vanity sizing.... the 10s and 12s I've been wearing are vanity sized too and these are smaller!

Birthday today...and 178.1 on the scale! May 29th will be one year since starting this weight loss journey. New mini goal is 175.9 by then.

My 35th birthday is in 2 weeks. I'd like to reliably be below 180 by then (I've seen 179.8 on the scale once, but was a fluke and am more typically 182 currently).

Made a pan of brownies 10 to 12 days ago. My husband and I each ate some, but they went stale and the end of the pan was thrown away tonight. I typically have zero control around sweets... how did I become a person with brownies sitting on the counter until they went stale?

All the pants in my closet fit now. I bought some of my favorite NY&Co jeans in a size 8. They definitely don't fit yet, but wearing them is my new mini goal. And I'm so excited about it. Considering getting a size 6, too, to hang up next to them and really be thinking towards the future.
