  • Thank you Joysie. If I can ever get in to see my new PCM, I will definitely address the fact that my migraines are returning.

  • My cousin had the gastric bypass surgery then proceeded to have two healthy, and really intelligent, boys. I remember her aging that she continued with just her post-bariatric vitamins instead of switching over to the prenatal ones.
  • I have Workout DVDs for the weather days. I tend to go on long walks and super clean my house. I need to add in more, but it is a work in progress. Gym is a 30 min drive for me, so I am a home gym jingle of gal.
  • Are you on BP meds? How are your vitamins doing. I was getting lightheaded and they took me to half dose on my BP med. once I can track my BP, he said I could try coming off of it. Just a thought. If it keeps up, talk to your PCM.
  • I was allowed sugar free Popsicles. They count as 2 oz fluids. Try those. For me my body needed the sensation of eating. If it doesn't help talk to your surgeon. One of the ladies in my support group started soft foods early because she was actually hungry. Looking at her today, she looks fabulous.
  • Thank you for the link. I just checked it out and saved it for future reference.
  • Amanda, I just moved to Germany, so I am being forced to find all of my favorites. My next trip to the grocery store I will look and the first bakery I find, I am also going to look at. I have a cookbook for Ezekiel Bread that I intend on using, I just want to make sure I like it before investing in a 220V bread machine.…
  • I am sorry to hear that your roomy is not being supportive. I know that it can be hard, and I am beginning to think that our support people sometimes just do not understand how important it is for us to maintain our strict diets. All I can suggest is that you ensure that there are foods in the house that you can eat, and…
  • I went with VSG because their were fewer side effects for me to deal with, in addition to it not being as drastic. My surgeon retained the rights to change it at the last minute if he found issues (i.e. Esophagus issues).
  • My surgeon has me at 900 calories. Now if you excercise, you can eat 1/4 of your calories burned back (according to my nutritionist). I would recommend asking your surgeon, since he would know more about your surgery and nutritional requirements.
  • Thank you. My cousin has an Ezekiel bread cookbook coming out in two weeks. I will have to order it so I have it in Germany. Definitely worth a try.
  • Feel free to add me. Sleeved on 15 July 2015. HW 276 SW 264 CW 216. Slow and steady is my motto.
  • Congrats on your sleeve. My surgeon allowed me to have sugar-free popsicles which took care of the chewing sensation. If he is allowing you to have cottage cheese, try Greek yogurt. I started with Yoplait and recently switched to Dannon Light and Fit (80 cal). As far as smoothies go, check with your surgeon first, during…
  • Hang in there, the surgery will happen when the time is right. My surgery was postponed twice, and almost a year, due to medical issues.
  • You look great
  • I was sleeved on 7/15 and have enjoyed my journey so far. I only told a handful of people, not wanting the negative comments. This process is hard enough without the naysayers. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • You can "friend" me. I am leaving in the morning for 2 weeks so can't guarantee my numbers until I get back. travelingal72@gmail.com
  • How does the app work. Does it tell me during the "run" when it is time to switch from walking to running and vice versa?
  • I think we have each felt that we were going to fail after the surgery. I will repeat what others have said, because it is true. Just stick to your surgeon's guidelines and you will be fine. I am going to tell you what another vet told me. You only have half of a stomach now, and are on reduced calories. You will…
  • You look great!
  • HI, I was sleeved on 7/15/15, and am down a total of 34 pds. Feel free to add me.
  • Walgreens became my friend prior to surgery. I was able to find a chewable vitamin designed for post-bariatric patients there. It is called Optisource (made by Nestle Health Science). I take that 4 times a day. I am also taking a B-12 complex sublingual liquid, Caltrate (Calcium with vitamin D), Biotin, and a stool…
  • Feel free to friend me, I am six weeks post surgery as of yesterday.
  • Thank you Rob, I was hoping to post my diary so others could look at it, but as long as I am tracking my food (cal and protein) somewhere, I guess that is all that matters. Right now I am desperately trying to break through a 2 week plateau, where I am actually starting to gain weight. Nut. said not to worry for a few more…
  • We are so alike. I am not teaching this year, instead I am subbing since we are moving mid school year. Depending upon your school size, maybe you can walk the halls (like a mall walk) either in the morning or in the afternoon, or split the school in half and do one circuit in the morning and another before heading out. I…
  • Thank you for the suggestions. I am cleared for soft fruits and veggies, which makes it hard for me since I do not like cooked veggies. I guess eating as much cheese for a snack is not as bad as I thought it was, since I am not alone. I know that I am also eating grapes, which helps with keeping things moving. So I guess,…
  • I am approaching my 4 week post-surgery mark. Feel free to add me as a friend. I am always making comments on my status. So far, the people who know that I have had the surgery have been really supportive, and I am not regretting my decision.
  • Thank you for the advice. I do not meet with my surgeon until next week, so I will have to ask him if I can count my protein shakes towards my fluid count.
  • I had another veteran give me this bit of advice when I plateaued at 2 weeks post. Your stomach has been reduced in size, as long as you are following the doctor's directions, your body does not have a choice but to lose the weight. What is happening at this point in time, and again post surgery, is that your body is…
  • Your post has its timing. I am two weeks post, and at 9pm realized that I still have to drink my second protein shake of the day. I know that it is hard to fathom, I had the same questions as you did only a few weeks ago. To put it simply, you are not hungry and really do not feel like eating. Or at least it is that way…
