Sounds like a good plan -- building up is way better than full throttle. Don't hinge your self-esteem on being perfect every single day. Doing good on most days will get you your results!!

MFP does subtract your exercise calories and you are supposed to eat those calories back. If you are asking how the tool is supposed to work -- at the end of the day you should be very close to your calorie goal (+/- 100 calories) If not, you want to either A. Eat more/less B. Exercise More/less C. Change the way you are…

Sorry guys, but i'm confused. Why should you avoid telling kids that too much junk food makes you fat? It's true! And being fat is bad -- like way worse than not sleeping well from a sugar rush. I mean, being fat kills people. Statistically, your kids are more likely to die from diseases caused by getting fat than…

When you are not/slightly overweight and you tell it you want to lose 2 or 1.5 pounds per week, the program subtracts either 1000 or 750 calories from your other "information" that you entered. If 1200 is more calories than the program gets, it'll stay at 1200. If you want a more meaningful number from the program, you…

I just started the 7 day average idea. I screwed up real bad this Saturday. which ended up with me having only a 250 calorie deficit for the week. When you think of it like that, and it doesn't happen very often, it's not the end of the world. Still a deficit, at least!

<3 that flow chart.

I am going to order like 40 of these. Just take it camping and sear over your can stove (conveniently included) Love love love it.

You exercise a ton, right? Your maintenance calories should be BMR + exercise calories. It might take some tweaking to get to where your weight is stable
-
I haven't read it, but I hope it inspires you!
-
That happens when you tell it you want to lose one or two pounds per week and aren't really overweight enough to justify it. Try changing your goal and see what happens.

eggplant is practically steak....right? good luck! I have friends who do very well on the paleo diet (not for me though)

Hi Kirstin! I used to have the mentality of "hey, I work out, i can eat whatever I want!" :S apparently it doesn't work that way. Welcome to MFP
-
I try to be as honest as possible when logging. If binging happens, I can see the calories on my log, and make the choice to change in the future
-
Welcome welcome! You'll find plenty of friends/support/info here.

There was this study, and they found out that there are more car crashes in Islamic countries during the month of Ramadan (they don't eat breakfast, and then fast all day until sunset) So when I don't want to eat breakfast, I force myself to eat ~100 cal, because i'm sure as heck not getting in a car crash TODAY.

Agree: -Water weight -Eat more calories (net BMR at least) -Keep on rockin!

Sacrilige!!!

I agree that more calories and more small meals would be a good idea. You also just started a few days ago. Try to raise calories bit by bit and see if that is working in 2 or 3 weeks. If you just started exercise, don't weigh yourself! You might have some extra water weight, and that can be discouraging. How tall are you?…

This sounds excellent

any junk food. I mean seriously. a candy bar? 300 calories. Bam. one taco from taco bell? Well that's almost 400. Maybe keep some frozen burritos or hot pockets around for filling up calorie gaps.
-
This might actually play out in your favor. I mean, picture a slip where you accidentally called your girlfriend Jennifer! No big deal, cause her name's Jennifer anyway.

Planning ahead works well for me...sometimes. I'll anticipate special events or whatever and make sure to do something healthy and low-calorie for the meals I can control, so it doesn't break the bank when the cake comes up.

Why is this bad? Sounds to me like: *Shorter lines at the grocery store *Enough Ipads for everyone on the release date *No need to burn down the rainforest, we've got plenty of room!

Thanks for sharing that info. Perhaps those people were pregnant and off their meds? Maybe that's why they were so upset. Either because they thought you were judging or because...they were off their meds? Either way, I think they shouldn't be taking it out on such a well mannered cat as you, Clyde.

based on BMI, 118 is the borderline for underweight at your height. I don't think you should be looking at pounds, but inches instead. I also can't see your diary, (Settings, Diary Settings, then the Public bubble at the bottom, then save changes) but without seeing it: 1.Your BMR is about 1400 at the most sedentary…

What, exactly, did you post, Clyde? Just curious at how nonsensical that is. Maybe they took offense to a certain part of the post?
-
Yes! But I usually only do one or two drinks at a time.

You rock! Same thing happened to me this year--down five in the fall, I stopped logging over the holidays, and then realized I gained three back this spring. Now I almost always go just slightly over my calorie goal. Sometimes I go too high, but it's just another bar on my nutrition graph. I've given myself permission to…

Blast! I just hit 25, healthy weight. Now i'm obese? At least it'll motivate me now...
